This is really a bad idea in general, the only thing that has ever been red on my screen is bad guys and now i got cans freakin me out!!
In a belt with 100 anchored cans it really makes it hard to see rats.
Could we make em green? OR maybe better yet, let us CHOOSE THE COLOR IN OVERVIEW SETTINGS?
My .02isk but its really bothering me and everyone else i talk to.
Thanx CCP

I agree this is gonna get way to confusing, setting the colour would be a great idea, but if thats a bit much another less dangerous colour would be good

Are shapes really that hard to recognize? Though a different shade of red would be nice.

I was annoyed with this at first because I tend to favor trickery and can swappage, but now thieves stand more of a chance to go unnoticed because it's possible the carebear won't notice them for all the red cans. ------------------------------------ Join Channel MacroIntel! |

its not really a matter of shape as color association, only things on my screen that are red are bad guys and my shields/armor/hull going buhbye. I do a fair amount of pvp for a mining corp, and normally i am hittong target and fire anything red before i even look to see "who" it is, this is just gonna slow down reaction time and desensitize to the color red which up till now has been only for bad things.

Agreed - its incredibly confusing - even something near that end of the spectrum like yellow would be an improvement - I see red and my fingers start lurking at the function keys. Please, take pity on my nerves and either reassign the colour or allow us to set it in overview like so many other objects Dear God, I seem to have become the person my mother always warned me about |

Agreed. The human mind snaps to colors much faster than we do shapes. When you're in a fight in an asteroid belt, especially if it's 0.5 or higher, you do NOT need to waste the time locking onto somebody's damn can. Especially if it buys you a CONCORDDOKEN. That's just bad.

Just a thought: make all cans black -confuses ore theives and doesn't detract from the beauty of a pristine asteroid belt. Just kidding, turn cans back to white. cans that belong to you show light green.

Definitely a bad idea. The whole can flagging system screwed up the overview for pvp, don't make it worse.

Agree, RED was a bad idea.....yellow or bright blue but something other than the color that designates the bad guys

There is an option in overview for this. Which applys colour to ships ONLY.
But
It dosn't work.
AARGH!
PS, I use yellow for -10. It needs to be a customisable colour for "will give flag"

Ummm - I'm colour-challenged too (I can see them perfectly well - but the same colour as 'identified threats' )
But my thought strayed this way - servers are in London = Game hosted in UK.........Disability Access Act anybody?

Yes this is all i see is wrong this tick box no longer works, cans are white still your just seeing the applied color from your scanner settings. _______________________________________

As of today 4 jet can's 3 secure can's have become victim to unprovoked missile attacks by moi.
Marking them with read or alliance colours wasn't a good idea, I can see that it was perhaps a fix to deal with some complaints about can flagging but overall i think its detracted from the game. Simply add the option in the overview settings to select which colours apply to which can states and wether its the background thats highlighted or not. I beg Please, it makes fleet battles insane now, the lag is worse because of the extra rendering, and people end up attacking jet can's.
Its a small tweak i know it is i could be implemented by the end of the week im sure.

You can turn cans off in the overview so they dont show there. |

I agree when you have anything more than 5 cans in onverview and a number of Rats having all of them red makes identifying what's what harder than it would otherwise be.
Sure red indicates danger and caution but that's taken for agressors - can we use something like yellow instead for items that dont agress but require caution? Like cans.

I dont really have problem with red cans. I understand that it means "Look out - it will flag you". Changing other people can color to yelow is badi idea. My idea: Change not-flagging cans(my cans) color to blue or green. Change flagging(other people) cans back to white. - ------------------------------------------- Helios enterprises is recruiting. 0% tax, 100% fun. |
