The rising price? Is because CCP is pumping trillions of isk in to the economy from wormholes and incursions etc. Demand rises, prices rise. There are a slew of other macro economic factors ofc. But on the whole, people are more affluent than they were three years ago.
Expect that to change when they nerf supers, moons and PI. Although what/if/when they are ever going to acknowledge the pve hegomony of incursions and sleepers remains to be seen. They might just opt to continue punishing everyone else for being 'poor' and 'nobby no mates'. |

It is. But unfortunately they have been burning more than they have been earning on WOD and Dust development for some years. They very recently just had to refinance a large loan too, I don't know how that went but I am guessing not well since they have abruptly refocussed everything on their core business - eve. |

You do realize that not one single ISK has been pumped into the EVE economy through WHs right? WHs are sources of resources which then have to be sold to other players for ISK that already exists in game.
The current ISK faucets are:
1. Incursions 2. Mission Rewards 3. Bounties 4. Insurance
These are the only ways that ISK enters the game (unless there is something I am forgetting which is possible at this time of night.)
I personally think that these ISK faucets desperately need to be re-balanced with the ISK sinks. |

I think its pretty telling that since incursions were introduced, technically in the last expansion, they went from being done in t1 bs to requiring 5bn isk faction bs to even get picked up for a fleet. In what? 3 months? |

Superficially yeah. But there are plenty of plex in people's hangars, its just that speculators try to control the markets and higher prices are better for them.
And yeah re: WH, true. I guess you could say then that the distribution of wealth has become less acute with access to better ships to ***** pve in. Meaning much higher amounts of isk paid out in bounties and LP's. |

You have to wonder what affect the botters have on the PLEX market as we know they wouldn't be paying a sub. Also unless their whole group was banned then it would be far to easy with one or two accounts left to create another group of botting accounts and PLEX them.
Is botting still prolific in EVE and has CCP taken banning them back a few notches after losing so many subscribers? It would also be some interesting theorycrafting guessing what the PLEX price might be without the botters.

This is false. No, this is false. Sleepers drop "tags" that are bought by NPC research corps. For example the "Sleeper Data Libraries" are worth 200k to NPCs, and have no other use ingame. |

Anything that is sold to NPC buy orders is pumping ISK into the economy by very definition.

When prices rise there's one or two reasons: 1. More demand 2. Less supply
ad 1) more demand may be caused by: - people earning less RL money because of the economical crises and wanting to pay with ISk instead of RL cash; - people getting more ISK in-game because they find ways to earn more ISK/hour; - people spending less ISK than before so they have a surplus;
ad 2) less supply may be caused by: - less people buying plex because they have less RL money; - NEX items may cause plexes to be removed from the market;
and so on.

Untrue. There are NPC buyers for the sleeper data libraries, and they pay quite a lot too. Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.

So.... they buy plex... to live on. I guess that is ... at least one reason why plex prices are rising. This, incursions are (almost) risk free and generate very large amounts of ISK. The only risk in incursions is griefers and bad fleets, and thanks to channels like BTL they are avoidable. Zero risk ISK generation shouldn't be that simple in this game.
I don't know of anyone that runs incursions and doesn't plex their account. Looking at Jita plex is 450m now, when I ran incursions I could earn that in a single night easily. If you're an incursion runner, you aren't going to be losing ships, so what else would you spend it on? You can easily spend a few days running incursions, plex all your accounts and still have money left over to buy ships for your PvP toon.
Solution: Gimp the crap out of people earning money in high sec. They go into WHs, or into low/null sec, and their money is spent on replacing their ships rather than buying plex. |

Doing a quick google search about that-which-should-never-be-done: RMT ISK sells for about 60-75% of a PLEX. Having the price of PLEX go up is only a good thing, because RMT will be even less profitable. PLEX functions as a hard RMT price cap.
I haven't bought any PLEX yet, but if it goes up higher, I'd definitely consider it. |

Apart from taxes paid, PLEX sales sink no ISK. ISK is just transfered from the buyer to the seller. |
