ISKURSIONS are the way forward. If you don't run ISKURSIONS you're at a natural disadvantage to every other non botter. I really wish people would stop posting this uneducated **** based on rumours and exaggerations. 110 million is pretty much the hard cap for ISK/hour from Vanguard sites. That only ever happens with an excellent fleet composition, winning every competed site and no down-time due to logistics shortage etc. When you calculate the actual ISK/hour for the individual player, including the time it takes to get X-ed up and down times / lost sites, ISK/hour value is much closer to 50-60mil. (This does not include LP, but a)most people never turn that into ISK anyway and b)it doesn't contribute to inflation.) This is still a huge ISK faucet and yes, it quite possibly contributes to rising PLEX prices. I just wish people would stop pulling numbers out of their ass so the argument can be considered seriously. Also: Random comments about unemployed people ruining the in-game economy make my day. Every time I read that trash, I can't help but wonder how those folks managed to get a job with their apparent lack of education, or whether this is a clever coping strategy involving public self-abasement.
Nice deflection, sadly, I'm just ISKursioning for PLEX and I don't work more than 5 hours. So stop lying, or stop failing. I don't mind which. |

All I know is that as a casual player with mutiple accounts the higher the plex the more it hurts. My friends and myself play mainly to mine and build and just shoot the breeze when we get a chance. Prices increasing by 100m in one week kicks me hard for 4 accounts worth of plex.
That being said I know it happens, I just see a 100m price spike as clear market manipulation by speculators.
Oh and to the people that keep putting down the unemployed, like me for 2+ years now. I hope you lose your job and have to start looking at things from this side of the fence. I will make sure to find you and kick you too. |

I was about to open a new account this month, but the 450 pricetag was already brutal enough. 500 now, and im definatly not starting my new account. Infact, im letting one expire at the end of this month.
I make a comfortable ammount of isk, just enough to play with and fund my accounts with.... well, i used to. I can now ether continue funding my PvP or fund my accounts... im forced to cut back if i want to enjoy my pvp still
To be honest im not even disappointed anymore, With the current trend of making highsec immune to pvp, plex could bust to 1b a piece and i'd simply find another game.

Some people have said its because
1. More people want to pay for free 2. The new Microtransations market 3. Speculation that Plex prices are going to hit 550 million by Christmas so investers are buying them up hoping to cash in and also inadvertantly driving up prices
I know a few people who have quit as they have multiple toons and they cannot plex them all. If they continue to rise we may see a cyclical subscription rate in player base. Players fall away as the price of PLEX rises which the forces a drop in the price of PLEX as there are to many PLEXes on the market, which brings them back.
As far as i can see this will affect players with the lowest income streams such as non botting mineral/Ice miners and noobie mission runners.
This could lead to a rise in the price of ships for a while until the price of PLEX falls again due to market saturation and the process starts again.
Further more the falling player base could also be partially due to the rise in PLEX and not because the Techno Vikings have been naughty boys.
Your interesting thoughts please and a big hello to all the trolls.
they are rising in price because more n more players are subbing via plex and not real cash due to the fact alot of us are unemployed and getting welfare cuts every few months and rising energy costs which means no spare money to pay for eve online.
If eve is to die anytime soon it will be because people cant afford to play it in great numbers anymore. RL bankers and bond holders & dodgy property developers all pulled a Jita Style scam and now the EU and USA are broke
Rising plex prices is causing alot of of players to completely unsub. Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs. |

You forgot to include the unstoppable ISK faucets that are bot mining and Incursion farming, thus inflation. "War is not measured in terms of who wins or loses, who is right or wrong.-á It is measured in terms of who survives." |

Eh, the spike is too recent to blame solely on incursions and botting as both have been in the game for many months. There has been a slow growth upward but the very recent rise to over 500M ISK must be something else. Possibly related to the winter expansion or other subscription related effects from the summer drama. |

Exactly. The ISK is worthless to me when I completely quit.
I have EVEMon to tell me when to check in, I have SISI to check the future {bleak], and I have time to forum post instead of play. I can see the average daily player load has dropped 20%. I am converting inventory to ISK, and noticing Jita sells taking much longer to complete. Stock up on some PLEX and coast, or drop out and hibernate with a PLEX stash to pay for checking back in. Older players dropping out will starve the market, again driving up prices - except in research items where demand is disappearing - I'm hoarding them. Older players not caring about 'ISK value' anymore have little regard for rising costs. About the only caution is that I expect a price collapse and I will stay more in ISK than I planned.
CCP believes that new features bring in new accounts, yup I agree. Gameplay retains accounts, and reoccurring income pays reoccurring costs CCP. Notice that CCP just cut back.
I've been in games in a death spiral before, this time I'm not riding the Titanic to the bottom.

Ummm...
"Bot Mining" - that's redistribution of wealth. There is no "ISK from nothing" from it, Minerals are purchased by players for manufacturing. Only if they were being sold to NPC orders would it be some kind of faucet. As such, mining and manufacturing tend to be isk sinks - you have fees for refining and making stuff.
Bounties and rewards from NPC's are faucets. As such, incursion farming fits but so does mission running - be it courier, mining or combat.
Mining - be it from bots or from players - isn't a faucet.

Hmm, I don't think it'll reach 1 bil. In Jita, the prices seem to be dropping (or at least stabilising). I had to drop the price of mine 20 mil just to remain competitive with the other sell orders, and even then it's still not on the first couple of pages.

Or wait.. no, it's still the same made-up bullshit. Except "4 hours" suddenly turned into "no more than 5 hours", which is a difference of roughly one fifth. So do we attribute that to rising PLEX prices or is it the number the random shite generator gave out today? |

No one is "apologising".
Some people are trying to explain how a market works and that prices are high because people are paying them.
Is everyone happy about this? Of course not. But you can bet your bottom dollar that there are a lot of players doing very nicely indeed out of the current situation |
