I am a beta player of eve, so I have been playing more than three years to this date. I am in the top 0.5% in terms of wealth, and probably in terms of game knowledge (at least of mechanics and PvP) as well.
I am looking for a trainee. Someone who I can essentially train up and teach Eve, specifically Alliance/solo PvP to. This person will essentially have any information they need as soon as they need it, access (should they prove themselves) to a powerful and well known and respected 0.0 PvP corp and alliance, and (although I do not want this to be a deciding factor)conmsiderable funding (and access to methods of isk generation dozens of times faster than normal) for their development.
What I am looking for - You must be a "power gamer". By this I mean two things. 1- you will be dedicated to the game, putting in at least a couple of hours a day. and 2- You are a veteran of other MMOs, and find you can quickly compete with the best in them (if you struggled to get to level 50 in DAOC for example , dont apply.).
- You must have initiative. I expect you to have read up on the ship you currently fly as well as potential future investments. I expect you to thoroughly research loadouts and keep abreadst of patch developments.
- You must be independant. Obviously, ill help you out so you dont need to be, but, when push comes to shove you need to be able to hold your own. If you needed your hand holding to complete the tutorial or early agent missions, this isnt you.
- You must have the aim of being a dedicated PvP charachter. Not a PvEr who sometimes PvPs.
- You must be mature. I am not interested in "l33t" kids. Thanks. This is an attitude, not age, requirement.
- You must have a clear idea of where your charachter will be, skills, ships and gameplay wise, in 6 months. I dont want someone who trains skills with no thought to charachter progression or wastes skillpoints on unneccessary dallying.
If this sounds like you, I will be accepting applications and doing interviews over the next few weeks. Apply here with some information about you, your current activities, and how you see yourself progressing (specifically. eg what ship, what activity, what skills) in the near future.

Edited by: Suhadi on 18/01/2006 09:30:18 Sounds like the perfect job for me then, I'm definitely looking to move into PvP full-time and I could use the break.
At the moment, I'm grinding missions/complexes for isk to save some money for the more expensive ships I'm aiming to fly. At the same time I'm trying to get some PvP experience by attacking any worthy target I can find in low sec, though this seems to be sadly lacking in my neck of the woods.
Currently I am training to fly Assault Frigates which I will achieve within 2-3 weeks, I will then improve gunnery skills in order to have a solid ship to work with while I train advanced learning skills. I then plan on training Interceptors and all the support skills required for AF/Inty to a high level before moving on to Heavy Assault / Battleship. I decided to train elite frigates first because it requires that I invest SP into training several core support skills to lvl V rather than putting large amounts of SP into ship command skills (ie. Battleship) early in my career.
As soon as I feel I can effectively pilot an AF/Inty I would be looking to move to 0.0 to practice their use in PvP from solo to fleet battles.
I play anywhere from 3-6 hours per night, between 6pm-2am GMT. -------------------------------------------------- - Suhadi |

Most of your requirements will prevent you from getting an aprentice. Independent gamers, as I am, will go it alone and not rely on some powerful corp or player to get going. Currently I am at the point, where I can buy the ships I want, but lack the SP's to fly them. Money is not the liniting factor, training skills is, and no help can make you train faster. You say you could buy me attribute enhancing implants? That's the only thing I might consider accepting as help. Even so, Currently my Attributes are at 18, I doubt bigger implants will make much difference in trainingtime.

Is there a minimum or a maximum SP req and would you accept a player who has joined a corp already but is prepared to leave?

Hi Jupiter Rising,
Ive been looking for a good mentor in this game and I think your it :) I have played pretty much every MMORPG out there and have the highest lvl characters in all of them. (2 50's in DAOC, 3 60's in World Of Warcraft, im a Vet of Star Wars Galaxiem (my jedi kicked ass till they destroyed the class :(...Im a vet of Anarchy Online, City of Heros, Everquest, FFXI, Guil Wars, Lineage 2, and the Sims Online. As you can see Ive been around the MMORPG world for a while. I started up an account in this game a little while ago and haved loved it, the community is great, the game is completly open ended and seems like it has a LOT of content for end game players (reason I left WOW) and it seems like PVP is challenging and a lot of fun.
I do play atleast 2 Hours a day, I have been trolling the forums while im not on the game and am catching on fairly quickly.
Right now im still on lvl 1 missions...waiting on my cruiser skill so i can start trying the lvl 2 missions. Im currently at 240,000 SP and flying a Punisher/Destroyer doing 20 quality lvl 1 missions. Since I started ive been standing on my own (never really grouped with anybody. And I think my attitude is prety good...though when I got my first kill from .4 space when some guy attacked me in a belt I felt pretty arrogant for awhile :)
Thank you for considering me for this apprenticeship.

My requirements are intended to be restrictive. The main benefit I am offering is a chance to participate in PvP from a VERY early start. I can realistically help a 2 week old player get (usefully!) involved in massive fleet battles. This is not something you can achieve by yourself. I do not approve of implants in an early PvP player (although having them in your jumpclone is acceptable).
Quote: Is there a minimum or a maximum SP req and would you accept a player who has joined a corp already but is prepared to leave?
None. I will take a 2 week old charachter (provided they have payed for a subscription) or a 2 month old charachter (provided their progression in that time shows they are suitable).
The 2 full applications so far are good. I have corpmates who may be willing to offer the same scheme as I can (fasttrack PvP and high-end corp membership) so if there are too many good applicants we might accept more than one. I'll contact both of you ingame for more questions later this week. Thanks for the replies!

As another here has posted money is not the real issue for a smart eve player. You should expand on your PvP morality though and the possible access to fleet participation.
Some player such as myself avoid random senseless PvP but would love to be involved in military or homegaurd action. With your assets you may find that creating a nube corp and filtering your employees on the sly may result in a more honest pick.
Still you could run your show similar to the Trump show and just fire the loosers :P

Personally, finding my way around by myself, with a little help from my corpmates now and then, is much more rewarding to me than what you're offering. It gives me a sense of achievement. Sure, I still feel like a noob sometimes, and there's a ton of stuff I'd like to be able to do which I can't or don't dare to just yet, but setting goals and paths to those goals is what this game is about, IMHO.

Edited by: SamuraiBeaver on 19/01/2006 08:50:38 Hey jupiter. Your timing and offer is pretty nice - I just today decided to go ahead and go ahead with the subscription...my trial ends today. I definately love the game but it's not so much fun for me to scramble around and do stupid missions all the time...so getting a head start in the PvP realm would be awesome...because thats my aim. I play this game for between 2 and 5 hours a day...(i just graduated from college and im kinda taking a break) lol I like long walks on the beach. I love staring into the deep blue galactic mist while my pod gently rubs yours haha. No but I really am just about having fun and having a sense of humor and enjoying being part of a community. My mmorpg life started back with diablo 2 which i was OBSESSED with omg...loved the trading...which i love in this also. WoW (a 60 and a 50), tried FF11, Priston Tale, tried Neverwinter Nights, Guild Wars. I usually pick just one game and play the hell out of it rather than mess around with a bunch.
Anyways yeah I already have a cruiser and I'm aimin' for that battlecruiser haha. Im on lvl 2 missions but every once in a while they get a little challenging. I'm smart, I understand thigns well, and im pretty much looking to get into the meat of this game...hopefully you can show me the way. Also, im a graphic designer so maybe I could do your corp a service to return the favor. thanks.

To give you some information on your requirements, if you wish to know more you are welcome to contact me ingame.
- I have started Eve about 2 months ago, trying out multiple characters in different roles. This character is my final charachter, which I will continue to evolve. My timezone is CET and I mainly play in the evenings or nights, depending on work. My MMO experiences started with Planetarion and the last MMO I've played was World of Warcraft. - I am focusing on interceptors in my current stage. My mid term plan is to catch up skill wise on more advanced characters, by focusing on interceptors solely for now - PvP? I have ruined too many players in planetarion and PvP makes MMO fun in my opinion, since the concept of MMO's are based on player interaction and the "freedom" EvE allows you to interact with other players is awesome. - Mature or not it will come down to your judgement. - See above --- victuri te salutant Legio Victor |

While all this sounds ... intriguing ... how would one of us fresh from pilot training know enough to know whether or not this is a good deal?
I am independent, skilled, and I learn quickly. I have time to spend, but it seems that the time zone my mentor is in would be critical, unless you only have plans to send instructions via EVE mail. MORPG experience is limited, PvP experience limited. But I am here to hunt, make no mistake.
I'm on my first real ship now, bought and paid for by the fruit of my labor. I am wondering what legacy will we inherit? Good and Evil come in crates the same size.

I am very interested in your offer and hope that you would concider me for the position.
I am a power gamer who has had experience in Everquest (the origional) which I played for 4 years, Everquest 2 which I gave up for lack of real content. I have played other games such as city of heroes, Daoc (briefly), and just about any 1st person shooter game that has ever came out.
I usually put 2 to 12 hours a day into eve depending on wheither there are people I know on. I have just reciently started a corp of my own (which can be compromized if needed) Only me and my roomate are a part of. I have a mining/industrial character also. both characters are around 3 months old. Ra'ven has her learning skills up to advanced 4 except charisma and has yet to really apply skill points to the more useful aspects of the game.
I have my skill points worked out for quite some time, I will be spending about 2 more months getting my general skills such as engineering, electronics, navigation and so on. I am flying amaar frigates and destroyers as well as gallante frigs and destroyers. I plan on flying interdictors after my general skills are at acceptable levels as well as interceptors. I will be moving up to cruisers after my skills are maxed on those 2 types of ships. I have the bpo's for the ships I use and mine the minerals I need myself. I do not make that much money but I am self sufficient.
My goals with my corperation is Universal Domination but I could settle for a position in a large alliance if nessicary. PVP is where the real game is, its just a matter of time before I get the itch...
If interested Convo me in game or send Eve mail... will make time available anytime :)

I'm interested in furthering my own knowledge of Eve. I'd love to get into PvP but I am not sure I'm ready for it yet.
Currently my character, who I've styled as a pirate hunter type, is flying a Catalyst destroyer. From what I've read on the forums this is not adequate for PvP -- lack of mid and low slots, mostly. I've been playing for about three weeks, and have yet to find an active corp to join; thus far I've been running missions on my own.
I've got a little less than 400,000 SPs and I've got over 3mil ISK. I have a real job and a family, so I don't always have as much time to play as I might like, but I do try to make the most of the time I do have. I have played other MMOs, such as Diablo II, City of Heroes, and a few others.
As far as future plans for my character go: I'd like to get into either a Covert Ops ship, to do scouting and spotting and maybe some cruise missile launching, or a HAC/AF. I haven't decided yet.
Please feel free to contact me here or in game for more information.

I'll be straight up and foremost-
As far as being a power gamer, I'm not... yet. I havent' found any real reason to just yet, as I'm currently just working on long-haul skills (analytical mind lvl 5 for example, so I can get the adv learning skills) While those are training I'm mostly working on mining / light ratting for isk - I've played games like Diablo II, Lineage 2, and have been playing EvE for about a month now. I completed the tuitorial mostly on my own (except for one case where I accidentally quit the tuitorial and needed help figuring out how to re-enable it) and though I'm not currently big on PvP (mainly cause I just can't hold my own... YET) I am willing to learn
As far as initiative, I know what I want and how to get there. Currently I am working towards a Thorax (currently in a Celeste because I was flying EW for my corp) but am a little short on funds at the moment.
As far as being independent... I dont' know. I've been putting most of my effort towards helping the corp out... not myself. I think I can do it, and so far so good, but time will tell
As for mature... *shrug* I'm 17, I converse best IRL with people either 7+ years younger than I or 4+ years older than I
I'll work towards being a dedicated PvP'er
Where I want my character to be in 6 months? mmmm... well, I want to specialize in long range attacks (railguns and missiles) with Gallente Battleships (the Megathron) and be working towards both skirmish warfare in interceptors / interdictors and mining barges (for when I'm in a bind for money)
Current activities? I'm pulling away from my current corp and it's silly corp war... partially because the corp can NOT seem to organize and partially because the enemy alliance keep RUNNING every time they sense danger... bunch of pansies... so me and my cruiser are left high and dry as far as what to do (I can't run the nearby deadspace's alone yet :( )
