WCS get -50% scan resolution each, no stacking penalty.
You don't show up in local if you're cloaked, and after uncloaking from gate, you have 5 seconds to either cloak or show up in local. Ships fitted with Covert Ops Cloak never appear in local.
Covert ops vessels can lock and ship/cargo scan from cloak.
Only characters with more than 1 million skillpoints can post in the Alliance summit and discussion forums.
I get a Hulk BPO.

Edited by: Nuri Aderynn on 19/01/2006 00:44:23 If I were to mess with the game mechanics I'd probably ruin the play balance. So I would spend my day adding little bits of colour that make the game more fun and that the Devs have no time to do because they're busy fixing bugs. Like:
1. Add more colourful descriptions and history to as many items as I can, particularly planets and solar systems. Imagine bringing up Info for some random system in 0.0 with a gibberish name and discovering that it's the place where a famous explorer met his end, or that its inhabitants are currently engaged in a small but bloody war.
2. I'd make it possible for players to be Archaeologists or Explorers outside of Cosmos missions. They wouldn't earn a ton of money doing it but they'd have fun striking out on their own into uncharted space and finding hidden things.
3. I'd add a load of non-combat NPC ships that players can have some limited interaction with: like medical, science, trading, hauling etc. You can convo them like those agents outside the starter schools and they'll ask you for a favour or tell you the latest news in the region.
4. Stealing from my favourite single-player space game, I-War 2, the above NPC ships would occasionally send out a distress call to nearby ships as they're attacked by rats. The player can then choose to help the victim or the rats.
5. I'd add random fluctuations to NPC trade that have a story behind them, like a planet paying more for medical supplies to fight an epidemic, or small arms for a local war.
6. I'd make it possible for players with writing skills to add more history and colour to the game itself, like submit descriptions as in (1) above, or more news items. The news could be localised, eg. if you're in Amarr space all the news items will be heavily censored and have a strong bias.

10 trillion ISK into my account and about 100 +500 implants of each type in every station I have a hangar, I would also have 1 of every BPO in the game except the ones I don't want.
After that I would automatically move everyone in Jita outside my POS (which I still have to spawn at at moon that I created to look like mike.jpg and has all the moon minerals I would want ever.) and collect their loot.
Then I would repeat the first the I did again, then after that I would change Old Man Star's sun to a ******* white dwarf like the story says it is.
Finally, as my day was running out I would take everything from Dentara Rast's accounts and make a fraps of me trashing it and donating the ISK to a macro miner.
It would be a good day.

Lets see...
Kill all the alts. If any account has more then one charactor with more then 1 mill SP, he/she gets to keep that charactor.
Hire a group of GM's to find all the macro's. Let them have very few restrictions on who they deem to be a macro'r. But instead of banning them, they are simply flagged for the rest of eve to kill.
Everyone is required to join a player corp after 1 mounth. Not doing so means you will no longer be able to undock. Your wallet is allowed to go into the negative to make a player corp if needed.
Die insta's die. People need to remember that eve isn't supposed to be either small or a solo game. The thought of an indy running through 0.0 as quickly, and with a little risk as a frig is wrong.
Mining timer. Like the pvp timer. No more insta logging the moment a hostile shows up. More then once, when solo, local has gone from 15 to 1 in a matter of a few seconds when I jump in.
Move WCS to high slot. And give indys a few extra utillity slots to compansate.
Move all the flippen agents out of the hub systems. Level 4 agents go to 0.0. Perhaps an increase in rewards for balance purposes.
0.4 and lower get better yielding roids, or something to make people want to go there.
Fix the 'show pilots in space' option on the map
Release a few more of some tech 2 BPO's. Not many, and not all of them, but on some items there's an inbalance.
Sercurity status. Its quicker to train up mining skills from scratch then it is to raise your sec status. Changing carrers in eve shouldn't take so long, all it does is punish the pirates.
Agrro timer. In all honesty, who in the world has be killed because of this? It was put in to let the victum have some sort of a chance at revenge, but simply forces the pirate into a safe spot for 20min. Not fun for either the victum or the pirate.

I would do three things, for one goal :
- Make stargates safe points. Like by adding a huge POS like shield to them. Remove the sentry guns too. Completly kill any kind of PvP at stargates. Static figths FTL.
- Implement a way to intercept ships while they are warping. Dynamic fights FTW.
- Open up a forum sub section, and give one month to the players to duke it out between them to write all possible rules governing the intercept function. Why pay a dev for that when the players can do it themselves?
The goal being to have a helluva lot more PvP (10 figths per hour minimum), more interesting fights aka less ganking, not touching the meaningfull death penalties, a fleet battle mode that effectively kills lag by reducing the concentration of players on one lone grid, more people moving to 0.0, all this in order to win the next three years "PvP awards", and REALLY DESERVE IT THIS TIME !

For the I would increase the mission rewards on the new super cool revamped missions.
For the I would make WCS a mid slot module, and make it an active effect that take 1 cap/sec each. The way this effect would work is sorta like target jamming, the Scrambler/Disruptor has a chance to hit based on the warp strength of the ship, when the WCS are active the warp strength of the ship goes up. Now there would ALWAYS be a chance to scramble a ship, but the more scramblers/the less warp strength they have improve your chances. The reason I made it a mid slot module is that Industrials have tons of them that they arent using, and it would really hurt ships tanking ability if used there, for an armor tanker it reduced their recharge rate, for a shield tanker...well its pretty obvious. I would also give industrial class ships a special ability bonus to WCS cap use, and WCS strength.
For everyone: I would banninate me some MMs and Farmers.

Hmmm...
1. Remove instas and replace with skill driven 'warp to distance xx' from all celestial objects. Add to this configurable 'warp to' distances of up to 400km.
2. Add a severe offensive penalty to WCS.
3. Fix the system security rating system so there is a real sliding scale of Concord response and number of sentries on gates/stations from 1.0 to 0.0.
4. Redistribute agents and damn the whining, so that some of the more populated empire systems are depopulated.
5. Move all Lvl 4 agents out to 0.4 or lower systems.
6. Open up a new 0.0 region for the sheer excitement of watching all of Eve's power house alliances rush over to take control.
7. Fix the show pilots in space and jumps in the last hour features of the Eve map so they are accurate, particularly the jumps in the last hour feature.
8. Significantly improve the rewards of agents in 0.0 space.
9. Have another look at the NPC loot tables and try improve them.
10. Check out the calculation on stacking penalties, particularly with reference to the order in which negative and positive moderators are applied (you can fairly easily fit out to be immune to ECM and Damps at the moment).
11. Add configurable fleet dispositions upon warp in and other advanced gang tactics i.e. if I select warp to a celestial object at xx km then support ships warp in close and BS warp in at distance (all pre-set but configurable) and all sorts of other advanced gang features.
12. Take a look at this damn memory leak and if it exists fix it and if it doesn't explain to the player base that it doesn't.
13. Actively recruit ISD members to run events who know more than nothing about PvP by targetting known and competent fleet commanders/pvpers from the player base. Add to this setting up solo ISD PvP pilots in all of the pirate factions to hunt players in npc claimed territory in 0.0.
14. Accelerate in any way possible the deployment of Factional Warfare.
15. Get a damn search tool implemented on the forums.
I could probably go on all night but there's a few to be going on with

9. Introduce advanced electronic skills for signature masking and Stealth Systems.
10. Increase Dreadnaught optimal by some 200%.
11. Remove the ability to make anything less than 10-run bpc for all non-capital blueprints. (Hello market flooding)
12. Tech 2 BPO auction for RPs, Tech 2 BPC offers for partial RPs.
13. Introduce "important" RP agent missions which penalize your RP gain if you don't do them.
14. Reduce the interdictor sphere radius to 5km from 15km or make them destructable objects.
15. Re-introduce agent services to fix security status (hello isk sink, goodbye mandatory grinding)
16. Remove the concept of keys in complexes, just good ole npc-clearout.
17. Dynamic shifting of complex locations every week, and dynamic respawning not affected by daily downtime.
18. Remove local chat for active speakers, introduce countermeasures for people who have high standing with sovereign faction, or sovereignty themselves.
19. Reduce the amount of high end ore available in EVE ever so slightly (hello resource wars)
20. No basic insurance for capital ships.
21. Ingame _pirate_ agent services to trace alts to the highest skillpoint character on an account. Very expensive, yum.
22. Massive agility and sensor resolution penalty for warp core stabilizers.. or put them back to medium slot active items :)
23. Allow alliance and corp logos on battleships and capital ships.
24. Slap repeatedly the person who gave Eos information warfare bonus.
25. Introduce more combat deployables like sensor damps, stasis fields, but make em expensive as hell.
well.. more like dev for a year

I would spend the entire 24hrs thinking of simple yet very effective measures to reduce lag. For example;
- Add the ability for ships/drones/missiles/etc not to be textured and rendered via the UI - vastly improving client response. - Pickup 80% of the agents in the empire hubs like Rens & Jita and drop them upto a dozen jumps away. - Delete all BMs and introduce a skill which can land you closer to a stargate the more its trained and with a small percentage of variance.
.. Just some little examples.

I'd lower all blaster CPU needs and give them 20% more optimal.
I'd lower blaster cap usage by 50%.
I'd change the Tristan's utility slot to a turret slot.
I'd give the Logistics ships triple their bonuses now.
I'd change Nos to a % based off ship signature for draining.
I'd change the MWD to have only the signiture penalty. Changing the Thorax/Vigilant/Vindicator bonus to lower sig penalty or less cap per cycle.
I'd make using T2 ammo/missles a benifit instead of 75% a curse.
I'd give the Enyo more pg and cpu to make use of its 5th and usualy empty high slot.
I'd change all Stealth Bombers to have 3 launcher slots and the powergrid to use them.
I'd change Warp Disruptor to 2 points strenght and Scrambler to 3 points strength.
I'd move ECM and ECCM to high slots.

I would change instas to only work when there are no hostile pilots within 100km of them, hostile being defined as a corp having -ve standing to you or at war with you.

First, I would give myself a dreadnought and the skills to use it effectively so I don't have to burn the next two to three months doing nothing but grinding out cash and waiting for long skill training to finish.
Second, I would make something official that everyone in ELA and VC already knows: Fluf is primary. I would introduce a game mechanic that automatically causes the enemy fleet to target him and fire if his ship is present, and negate all range penalties to make sure this is not a game-breaking effect (i.e. preventing him from sitting outside effective range while the entire enemy fleet could do nothing but shoot at him and miss).
Third, I would remove the "Docking 5", "Advanced Docking 5", and "Capital Docking 5" skills from all Xelas characters, thus allowing them to actually be shot dead on sight.
I would increase the time it takes for interceptors and frigates in general to warp, thus putting a stop to frigates being nigh invulnerable while traveling if they have instas.
I would then ban anyone who whined about it on the forums, with the anouncement message to banned players reading: "HAHA, n00b! Pwnt!"
I would then add a second message reading: "CAUSE I'M EXTREEEEEEEEME!!!!!!!111!!!!eleven!!!!one"
I would steal Tomb's nerfbat and beat a random player over the head with it once every ten minutes, causing them to lose half their skill points, half their ISK, or half their ships and items. I would then nerf Tomb himself temporarily, just because.
I would have Sniffy, the hamster that runs the Northern nodes, temporarily replaced with a stand-in while I take him to a genetics lab and have his strength and endurance increased tenfold.
I would have Detaurus taken out back and shot in the *******.
I would unban Tank CEO for exactly thirteen hours, but transform everything he posts into ancient Egyptian heiroglyphics so almost no one could understand him. -Wrayeth

If I would be dev for one day I'd give statis webifiers a Signature resolution and make them resistable based on the propulsion strength of the target.
Additionaly I would add propulsion enhancers that would increase the propulsion resist factor (each requiring active/passive mid/low slot).
Basicly that means 3 types of webifiers would be added, small, medium and large. Ad their size Increases their chance to effect the target increases however the % reduction drops as the sig radius decreases.
As a result smaller ships have less chance to web a large ship and large ships don't stop small ships completely unless they install a smaller webifier.
This would boost the survivability of frigates (sized) though makes it harder for them to tackle a large ship in return.
I'd expect to see some more cruiser sized tacklers if that would be added, and some more interesting fights, though it's just a thought ;)

Otherwise improve CEO tools ie last login days sicne to manage inactives stuff like that Im a happy little camper now - CCP 4tw. |

I only want to have a look on the database in the background of eve.
why is the market so slow ?? why lag escrow ?? why does a click on any 'Info' takes ages to return the result ??
you can have the fastes hardware u can buy for money, but if the database is slow you get no positive result.
in the 'beeing a one day dev' i'll take a look on the 'redo log groups'. are there enough of them and are they located on fast, separate drives?. is enough space for the 'archive-logs'. I'll check the 'temp-tablespace', is it big enough? are there 'indexes' on the rows used in the most 'where' statements or are only used 'full table scan' selecctions? what's about the SGA? and so on ...
u see, i don't want much but if it will make the database transactions a little bit faster, than the 'Dev-Day' had been a fine day.

1. Implement 4 probes system scanning which would scan in a volume instead of the plane.
2. Seed scan probes bpos to the market.
3. Further decrease the volume of cap boosters, they're still too large :)
4. Decrease Helios recloaking delay from 30 to 5 sec.
5. Release dev blog signed with blood of all developers that clearly states that NEVER will happen the nerfs to following legit features : instas, npc corps, and local (with the possible exception for covert ops cloaked ships and fleets that entered via jump drive); and make ISD moderators team to insta lock all whine threads that advocate these ridiculous changes.
6. Remove "cosmic signature" marker from mission deadspaces so that they couldn't be found with probes.
7. Seed medical facilities to all npc corps that don't already have any; remove silly corp standing restriction for jump clones so that it wouldn't be neccessary to form 1 person corp to make a jump clones.
8. Create "abandon drones" RMC command for drones in space, it would turn off the drone and free drone control slots.
9. Allow several afterburners and mwd activation with stacking speed penalty similar to the one applied to damage mods.
10. Seed Medium and Large tractor beams with increased speed and range. Allow several tractor beams activated on one object, which would pull the object faster, applying the stacking speed penalty.
11. Make it possible to tractor other people's cans with the same penalties as when taking from other's can.
12. On SISI, seed +60 implants and make mirrors from TQ regular (1 per month perhaps). These mirros will serve as "wipes" so that sisi wouldn't turn into super people fest. That would make it possible to actually test ALL of the stuff for everyone, not only 2 years old character.

Hire on the cheapest college guys I have around and plug them to work on EVE2 engine then take the devs off eve for a month or two then stick them on EVE2. Overall performance demand, and capabilities higher, (you people, you know who you are..) (go buy new computers..) totaly reworked for max benefit code wise specificly tailored along a good outline based on the ideas of the community.
Also most of the ideas in this thread under serious consideration after dev budget rework. Specialy safe zone stargates so that we'd actualy see more combat, stuff the guys who want warp core stablizers reduced (which would cause ensueing super camping).
But this all goes against the idea of releasing standard expansions for eve.. sooo in a dream world I rule.. :)

1) Opened up the Jove Empire for gamers. 2) Made a small security zone in the Jove Empire, so we can get some more complains from those who hate security zones. 3) Opened up the space below Jove Empire (we dont know anything about it), do the same here make a small security zone. 4) Concord was allowed to do some heavy cleanup in 0.4 to 0.1 after x number og baddies enter them (high random number). 5) I get a polaris so I can be a super police woman. 6) Those who didnt adress me as dear God Mother and Ultimate Celestial Being would automaticly be shot podded and kicked, and all access to items frozen. Then it would be actioned in a newbie lottery.
