1) Ability to set cycle time of mining lasers to any time less than the specified time. Perhaps a slider bar implementation to contrain the selection. Those of you who mine with a ship that has a smallish cargo space will know why I request for this.
2) A new skill that allows us to visually see how much ore is remaining in a targetted asteroid if an ore scanner is equipped. Perhaps a bar that is similar to the shield/armor indication.

Excuse me, this is discussion and I discussed it.
1) Only ship that has a small hold for the ammount it will mine is the frig. And it doesnt take much to get something large. Now if your referring with a MED barge with 2 MSM2s and tech 2 crystals then that is a problem, the to solve that you just space your laser firing by 1 min. If you want to do something like this, decrease the mining cycles, but that causes more load on the server and thus more lag. 2) Here is a better idea for the ore scanner. Add its results to the overview. The scanner has seen no change from way back. It is still using an iterface that is old and IMO lame, at least make it so it uses overview settings, very lame to pop up ALL roids when you want to target one type of roid.
Here is my scanner preposal I have shared before: Make it a passive device Give it a colume on the overview stating the amount of ore left. Simple easy and very very useful. You will be able to set your overview settings to the roids you want and get the vol of said ore and make a quick selection there.
BUT the simple fact is: The scanner needs to be nefted. Give the miners some luv.

Thanks for all your comments/support.
Fashion Bug, your ideas on scanner is similar to mine - as long as there's some form of visual cue for amount of ore left, then I'm a happy camper. The current scanner implementation is seriously lame.
As for your first comment on ships having small hold for mining - it's not only frigates that have a problem. Battleships with MDCM2 face this problem. Don't think my proposal is going to cause serious lag.
Hopefully, the devs can give this some consideration.
