Well, I went home and refined it, and now I'm happy with the result.
This is the first in a new line of comics, inspired by Winterblink's hilarious work. I will be developing my own style and I hope you all like it.
I'll be uploading it soon hopefully to a server, but for now this is going to be hosted from my Photobucket.
And now, please enjoy Volume 01 - The Gate Gremlins _________ roflfest 2006 - be there

Been there. Good laugh. Isn't there someone who RP's a gate attendant in EVE? I say we blame him for the hold ups.
btw: much improved over original, presentation of the humor was much more evident and easy to follow.

Where is the gate camp with smartbombs? Course that will clear the lag as the newbs are cloned back to station.

It's the exact same comic, it's just been worded differently... honestly, I still didn't find it all that funny... sorry?
Maybe if you showed the ship running into the jump gate, then the jump gate and the ship blowing up, then a pod or something floating in space, then the loading window, then all the damn ships on the other side of the gate? The pods are back in their ships, too... same dialogue with a few more "AHHH!!"s... maybe... just a suggestion. *************************************************

I still don't get it. It's exactly the same as before - the changes are minor and cosmetic. Try to make the humour in these comics universal to the readers. Something everyone in eve understands. I haven't a clue what's going on there. I thought I got it up until the last panel - I thought it was a joke about how when you lag the autopilot says "jumping" repeatedly but nothing happens. Then the last panel hits me and I haven't a clue what's going on. Instead of a punchline, I'm greeted with confusion.

First one: I get it now, but I didn't think it was that funny, a lot of others seems to think so, so great job!
Second one: Laughed immediately!! Great one!
Making it a sticky over the weekend so everyone can see it, you might want to edit the top post to link to your second one as well.

First Comic: So the joke is that the stargate operator was queing up the ships, then expells them all at once? Maybe it was the change in panel color that was throwing me off? Blue/red background made me think they were in different systems?
Second Comic: To the point and funny - easy for anyone to understand.

hehe, loved them both. I think your reworking of the first comic was much better than the orginal, especially those extra two half frames, think we've all been there! -- Lil Miner |

Second one's much better than the first, but that's just my worthless opinion. :)
Only thing I can suggest is not trying to crank out too much too fast. Or, try to and find out why I suggest you don't. :)

Not funny. It's another case of ambiguity. I don't know what joke you're trying to imply here and as a result, I don't get it.
Take winterblink's advice and don't make too many too fast. Humour is not a mechanical process. Perhaps one out of every fifty ideas you have will be genuinely top grade funny stuff and those are what you want to make comics of. I'll take quality over quantity any day.

This is very true. I have an idea file a mile long, but I'm ridiculously picky over which ones I actually start to develop. Takes a lot of time for some to make it out the door.
Of course some days I'll just have too much coffee and spit out things like the Dippy Frig one. But overall, what you state is pretty accurate.
