There are no rights in Eve, there is only ability.
Skillpoints will not give you success here, only real life abilities.
If I magically gave you 40 million skillpoints, you'd still fly into lowsec and get pimped.
This is not a game for whiners or stupid people.
If you're just gonna whine and be a big baby with a sense of entitlement to be anywhere, this isnt the right game for you.
If you wanna learn then ask the right questions and have the right attitude.

Well what an eye opener this thread is, pirates targeting newbs or shuttles! of course obvious disguise to high value items. That explains my first gank at a gate with a 4 day old victim, at least he didn't pod me. I at least had a chance to learn how to fly the blooming thing so learnt something. lol And yes .4 is dangerous and fun but it has taught me to use scanners and the map MUCH MUCH more. I know I wont be bumbling and lazily flitting into a .4 in the future! And of course my killer is the first on my hit list, oh this is so much fun.
Take care it's a dangerous universe!

Its not necessarily because shuttles always have good items--its because since there's a small chance the shuttle might, it can't hurt for the pirate to try.
Most pirates really don't have that much cash, and they'll try any gank within reason for a chance to get some. -- Proud member of the [23].

That will be Ami system. If you read his bio, he blows everyone away in his tempest, usually with another tempest using 1400mm howitzers unless they pay for passage, doesn't care about your cargo. Got my attention by blowing me away afk in my caracal. I run through his system whenever, in area with a cheap condor, he cant hit side of a bran door with those 1400s, particularly a fast condor with low sig.

Forgot to say, Absolute Evil is worth 100 mill, so get 3 friends, one with a covert ops for gang jump, ceptor to scramble him followed by a battleship to collect and you are 100mill richer, or more if his sidekick doesn't run before the ceptor pods him.

I think this happend to everyone of us when we started playing the game. What I did was adding these people to my buddy list, attach them in a new folder tho called 'KOS' and put their standing on -10. Get their names from the killmail you received. This way you won't forget about them.
Soon or late, you'll get back at them, trust me :) and you'll love it ! ----

i guess that is what i like about Eve..
they where bold enough to have an open ended game where you can do anything and there are risks but also consequences..
they have reached a pretty good balance with that system..
its refreshing after playing SWG which was such a carebear environment..
nevering wanting to force anyone into PvPing or force them into a good risk vs reward system..
always worried that someone might be upset instead they should have been worrying about creating a good reward and challenging system where something can go wrong and you can suffer setbacks..

Oh the newbie that started the thread is still reading.....
I'm amazed at how condescending some of you veterans are towared the new players... I wonder how many of you are still 12 year old breastfeeders...
Thank you truly those of you who has insightful advice...
Kiss my arse to those of you who think you're tough ****it just because you can whack a newbie at will.
Adios,

Originally by: Wee Dave TBH if people couldn't speak in local when in a pod there would be a heck of a lot less poddings.
Oh, one extra reason is to inflict maximum damage: implants are lost when podded.
I kinda figured "shutting twits up" was a given ;) If a guy is shooting his mouth off, be it in local, evemail, or even just annoying obnoxious bio's, then I'd wanna whack 'im too.
I was just curious if there was a beneficial reason to pod someone beyond jackassery (on either side of the guns). If I'm not the sort to shoot my mouth off, then it seems the only people I should reasonably need to fear are the bastages who demand payments for blowing me up, and the people I've blown up or otherwise ticked off in the past...
..but that's a silly ideal, because there's always people who'll do it just to be an ass. I just wanted to make sure that was the only reason :)

If anyone I'd say it'd be you who was 12 and still breastfeeds since you don't seem mature enough to handle any sort of loss.
Can I have your stuff?

The distrubing thing here isnt the loss of your ship, its your attitude to the loss of your ship.
There are tactical ways to avoid piracy. Did you create and use instant bookmarks? Did you use your scanner to check station and gates for pirate camps? Did you constantly check local and read peoples bios?
When I first got killed in lowsec, I laughed. I knew the risks but I wanted the rewards. I was sitting semi-afk in a belt and got blown up in my first cruiser. It was essentially my fault and I could have avoided it. I learned a lesson.
You have also learnt a lesson. Lowsec space is not secure. If you don't like getting blown up, but can't be bothered to avoid piracy using intelligence and tactics, then stay in safe Empire space.
The people that killed you were not jerks, they are playing EVE the way it is meant to be played. Regarding your 'I can't get revenge' thing. Sure you can. You have killrights on them for a whole month. Plenty of time to train up some combat skills and get a group of friends together. A group of frigates can take out a battleship no problem.

You could have put it in a more diplomatic way, but apart from that I agree with each and every point. The risks are already minimal if you're willing to play smart. ------------------------ I don't believe in sigs. |
