So with all the new players joining up Eve, Morale of the playerbase at an all time high and all the new capital ships and content we have, Eve has never been better.
Tonight Band of Brothers headed up to the Fountain Region to Meet a G/IRON combined task force doing something or other in our space. I made sure my client was totally ready before I went in, cause I had a sneaky suspicion it was going to be a great fight.
1. Rebooted machine: Check
2. Cleared Client Cache: Check
3. Made sure all settings were ready to go: Check
4. Turrets and Effects off: Check
5. All drivers up to date: Check
6. Internet Connection acting stable: Check
7. No other programs running: Check
8. People and places not open: Check (lol)
9. Rebooted one more time for good measure: Check
The order comes to warp in. Here we Go!

Wow, that was so much fun! I'm gonna make sure I tell all my friends to come pay 15 bucks a month for the rush of EVE PVP!

All sarcasm aside, This is the reality right now people have to put up with in this game. No matter what we do, no matter what we try it just ends up in a massive lag fest. I record my fraps at 1.2x normal speed to make the video a bit smoother, but rest assured I was getting anywhere from 40-50FPS the entire video. I've got a pretty kick-ass system and the above checklist is actually exactly what I did. Hopefully people who've never experienced this sort of lag can actually see what us veterans have to put up with when we even try to have a fight.
This particular ship had precisely 7 1/2 hours of platinum insurance remaining on it, so I was quite confident it was going down tonight. It will at least save me the trouble of bothering to petition it only to be told by the GM's that "I'm sorry, our server logs couldn't find any indication of lag or other trouble. Now plz kindly go fck urself customer."
To all the dev's who've said "We don't understand what you're seeing or talking about with lag" This is it, right here. This is what we're talking about. Our machines rock, our connections is stable, and the client is operating perfectly. There's only one thing left that could be broke. You do the math.

A few minor directorial comments, not that it's even really worth mentioning, but this is unclipped footage, played start to finish with no breaks. The music was Third Eye Blind - The Background, and it was made in Adobe premier.
Anyhoo, enjoy, download, share, mirror, tell your friends whatever. But remember, this is what you're paying your subsciption fees for. This isn't meant to bash CCP, other players, or turn this thread into a Lag whinefest, I just hope it opens some eyes.

You should post that in the dev section mate, and name it "HEY CCP LOOK AT THIS NOW", seriously, if thats how it plays for you and others, then i really think you should kick up a big fuss in that section.

This is what happens when any number of people over 10 decide to pvp. Heck, even just 10 dreads shooting a pos will do that to not only the system they are in, but the surrounding systems as well.
It's really frustrating tbh. And although that fleet fight was lagtastic, hopefully the devs can download it so they can begin to comprehend why everyone is getting so frustrated.

I can pretty much say you are talking trash here cause it does atm. dDruid I feel your pain. Just w8 till ccp get the new servers and hopeully lag won't bother us as much.

Yeh, he loaded allmost instantly. Last time i had to wait to get killed + 30 sec for the battlefield to appear for me :) Nothing new.

1. G+IRON in YZ wowow, /me rubs hands & is happy
1/bis. I perform mostly the same checklist that KSU listed
2. I Undock Moooominn
3. I Get reports of the numbers (like 240+ folks total)
4. I Dock Moooominn
5. I Undock full T1 setup Caracal
6. Engagement starts
7. I never load and get killed -> I warp out after like... 10 minutes? -> POD safe probably due to some emergency warp?
8. I arrive to ss after probably 15/20 mins and have to reboot game to clear off some scary graphical effects
9. I am happy (lol) because even if I have spent a lot of time and cash specializing in a HAC, I have been smart enough to bring a T1 cruiser
10. I swear to myself never to take part in one of these things ever, till they are fixed
11. I chuckle to myself, because I know that I'll be there for next one.
12. I chuckle even more because I'll probbaly come in a shuttle... the result will be probably the same, given how much I have been able to interact with the game.
Being wasted in combat, losing ships/clones/costly equip -> I don't give a ****.
Wasting my time (like tonight and many other times) -> a big NONO
This is getting old and on my nerves as well.
Will the new hardware solve this?
Imo, no... I'd be VERY happy to be proven wrong.

People were not laughing at ASCN because they said there was lag but because they blamed G/Iron for it.
I could render you a 2gb movie from the ASCN war of me lagging out in fleet action.

Bah too many people AFK for too much time.
if pilot hasnt moved or typed anything for a while say 30mins, kick the mofo off the server. that alone would probably cut 20% off the no of people loged on.

well the way i see it is its lag,lag,lag,lag all the way.
a small group of our pilots went into germinate last week , which was totally empty and it was unplayable and a few even logged there it was that bad! if my elecrtic company treated me this way i would have something to say and so would you lot too including ccp! its bout time you got your act together , you have over 3k trial accounts going at moment what do you think your new customers think so far? ill tell you, utter rubbish.
i remember the days when i first played this game on a 28kps connection! yup 28kbps! was a little laggy them but playable i now have a 2 meg connection and the lags bad.
bare in mind ccp you will loose customers if you dont sort this quickly, and to be fair thats your wages!. nuff said

awesome vid, i had the same battle against FE in 6nj 2 weeks ago.
Only difference was that i only loaded half their fleet so i kept wondering where all thet tgts were which got called.
I could lock things but after the first activation the mods wouldnt reactivate.
Unlike u i petitioned it but guess what.... No logs found :D
You saved yourself alot of hassle and deffinately if the server upgrades dont go well thats it for me. Beared too long with the lag **** and excuses made from ccp.
