If you are going to post about this topic at all or even just reading because you have an opinion, some things to consider:
-EVE is a niche game, it is not for the broad audience. That means that CCP will never be able to market the game to the masses(the masses wouldn't play it) and there are many reasons why this is good. However, it also means that CCP, just like the creator of any niche game, has the responsibility of finding as many people who it does appeal to as possible if the game is to grow and prosper. One way of doing this is making it available in more formats.
-As has already been said, getting EVE to run on a 360 would take less coding effort than probably any other platform. The 360 uses DirectX which means that the same things that EVE relies on to run on your PC (and indeed what makes it hard to run on platforms like mac or linux) exist there. I'm not an expert on the EVE code but there are plenty of reasons to assume that once properly set up, updates to the game that function on both PC and the 360 could be produced with little (extra) effort.
-They are already making a fricking PDA version of EVE. Granted it is just to check skills, maybe chat, and do station stuff, but it is being done.
-For $400USD you can get an XBOX 360 which has the computing and graphics power to play EVE better than current PCs that would cost 3 times as much.
-As has been stated, there is no reason why you can't require players to need the 360 HD. There is also technically no reason why you couldn't require them to use a keyboard and mouse. As has been stated above as well, you can plug in such USB devices to the 360 just fine.
(In my personal opinion I think the current EVE UI and its modal windows are a horrible kludge that represents the best way the devs could deal with the complexity of their game given the technology they chose to use for it(python) and I would honestly welcome a streamline of the interface such that it COULD be used with a 360 controller. I think it would be a welcome change for both the PC and 360 crowd.)
-There is NO reason why, if they did want to use a voice system, it would have to function in ANY WAY similar to how it does in games like Halo. As has already been said voice chat in organized corps is a must and if they did include something like that, it would only makes things better and easier for the players.
-NO extra lag would result from people playing from a 360 any more than it would if they were playing on a PC. The devs have time and time again identified to us where the sources of lag are and they have also outlined what they are doing (and how much they are spending) to fix it. If you still want to whine about lag STFU and read Oveur's Blog.
-All 360 games run in at LEAST 720p High-Definition resolution and could run up to 1080i. That means that with an HD-capable TV you would be playing the game at either 1024x720 or 1920x1080 which most likely meets or exceeds what most EVE players are looking at now and it would be BIGGER overall. (this point is for anyone who thinks it would be hard to read on a TV)
-The platform does not make the gamer, the game does. People associate console gamers with immature people who like simple games because simple games are what consoles have had for a long time for various reasons. The simple fact is that if you don't have a console, that is probably because they don't have "your" kind of games, like EVE, on there. But if they did, you might come play. The other fact is that there are noobish 15-year-old *****-children on every platform, including the PC. It is the game that determines where they concentrate. On a 360, EVE would have the same affect there as it does on the PC, people looking for Halo get bored quick and quit. Not a problem.
-WOW and FFXI need competition in the 360 market and 360MMO gamers need a sci-fi alternative. Why not give them the best?
