Edited by: Platina on 26/01/2006 01:08:07 The ISS Navy [ISSN] is the corporate security branch of the Interstellar Starbase Syndicate [ISS]. The unit conducts offensive and defensive anti-pirate operations in support of the ISS.
The ISS is both a doorway for empire corporations into 0.0 space, and a driving force in the colonization of deep space. The alliance have built and maintains two public outposts in Eve, one in Pure Blind and one in Catch, in addition to numerous starbases. ISS is a strictly civilian organisation and struggles daily to remain neutral in inter-alliance politics in Eve.
Join a small corporate security unit in the defense and policing of the two public ISS outposts, Marginis and Borealis and the spacelanes leading to them.
Only serious applicants need apply. We will not pretend to be something we are not: Pirates more frequently than not outnumber and outgun us. It can be demoralizing. But if you like tough odds, good camaraderie, the chance to be at the forefront of one of the most ambitious projects in virtual worlds today and you enjoy the rush of player versus player combat, join us.
HereÆs what they said about the ISS in Escapist Magazine (Dec 05):
ôDespite - or perhaps because of - the fact that no real-world money is changing hands here, Interstellar Starbase Syndicate's outpost IPO is the most important economic event to have happened in a virtual world in 2005à Now, ISS sees the opportunity to spark a similar economic development in an area that's not yet securely under any one alliance's control. If their venture succeeds, it could change the face of the metaverse, not just in EVE, but wherever avatars look on and trust that yes, these things are possible.ö

Any room for another willing and dedicated newbie? i played EvE few years ago in beta but didn't have time to play due to my collage studies.. now when i'm finished with collage i've got plenty of time.
as I mentioned i am dedicated and willing to fight against the odds. I learn pretty quickly and you won't have me begging for help every 5 seconds or asking to borrow money. i make my own way and i stay true to the cause. PLS contact me in game with your answer, even if negative, just so that i can be sure that i fit7don't fit in your navy.
Best Regards Steve Dark

Thanks for the bumps :)
We are actively looking for players old and new to PvP with us, primarily in KDF-GY and surrounding areas.
By far the safest route to take is the one via W9- as it avoid HED, Doril, and 9K0E which are often bubble camped. You'll have to manually plot your waypoints on the map as autopilot never picks that route. Its really quite safe though.
If you are an experienced PvPer, thats great, you can lead gangs and share your knowledge. If you are new to PvP, we can teach you the ropes and give you the ships.

Oh and I should mention - we use Ventrilo for voice comms and its compulsory :)
We like to talk to people on Vent when they apply too, we can tell you about the corp and what our goals are, and you can ask any questions you may have.

Originally by: Butter Dog Heh, well... we welcomed a few new guys into ISSN with a fleet operation tonight. We got 'pwned', as they say :) Our opponents know who they are, and very good they were too, it was a fun fight.
But hey being in the ISSN is about generally being the underdog, you fly alongside a lot of industrial players who don't normally PvP and we do our damned best to kick them into shape.
We're getting better every day, but we still need lots more people to help us realise our full potential :)
We'll be launching a new recruitment campaign SOONÖ
But in the meantime, please direct any enquiries in game to Gavin Paradise or myself.
Yes ISS was a great fight and thx for staying and making a stand not many people dare to do that anymore..
Also we would like to say you did vell guys there is no shame to lose a battle.. You will always lose some and win some..
the most important is to enjoy it have fun and learn by you mistakes....
to all the new players in ISS navy who had there first fleet eksperience I hoped you had fun and wants more.
But anyway friendly bumb join them they are good guys..
And btw im preatty sure in some time you guys will rock..

Sounds like a mistake to me :)
Who did you speak to? If you have 9 months in game we certainly would not reject you, we have accepted much younger players. We would reject people we think are alts though, based on things like standings, or rather lack of them. Even the most dedicated of PvPers will have killed one or two rats
Convo me in game, and if everything looks good, we can get you signed up in no time :)

I am interested in joining, but don't understand why ISSN is linking to the umbrella ISS website. Does ISSN not have an actual website for Corp members or am I missing something?
Thanks!

No we use the ISSN forums in the main ISS site, accessible only to members. It really serves all our needs, we're very much an integral part of the ISS and so having our own site doenst really make sense (to me at least, but hey I'm open to ideas).

Well, first and foremost the role of ISS Navy is to provide PvP expertise for the whole ISS. So you are working for and with a 1300 member alliance at all times. Also we work collaboratively with others in joint operations against mutual hostiles.
Within the alliance, it will be your job to drag those 'industrialists' into combat and give them the leadership and tools to defend themselves. I say 'drag', actually many are very willing and a real pleasure to fly with.
We currently have about 35 in the ISSN itself (growing fast), and we have a 4 month recruiting plan we will shortly initiate with a target membership best described as 'very significant' (I'm being deliberately vague on a public forum).
The reason for this significant and exponential growth in the ISSN is in part due the growth of the ISS itself, and the imminent construction of two new outposts (which you may have picked up on as the information has leaked on the forums).
Infomorph Psychology level 4 is now essential training material

What's the availability of skill books like in KDF? I'm a few days from my last advanced learning skill, and would prefer not to travel back to empire if I can help it. On the other hand I don't want to risk taking expensive skill books to KDF with me.

**IMPORTANT NOTICE**
For the next 24 hours you will be unable to submit a membership application.
Our recruitment has proved very successful and the current CEO has reached his membership limit much sooner than expected. We are assigning a new CEO within 24 hours with a 200 member limit and shall resume full recruiting at that point.
Thank you for your patience and for all the interest in the ISSN shown so far, we much appreciate it.

Our recruitment can resume fully in 9 hours ^^
In the meantime, we have opened an Empire office in Assah from where you can apply after this time period.
The route from Assah to KDF via G-A0TH (I think its called) is very safe by 0.0 standards.
Please note: We are unable to accept applications from players younger than 21 days old and/or without standings to show they are a genuine, active player.
Additionally, for the younger applicants, please be aware that 0.0 is tough. We may give you the ships and modules, but life out here is not easy and neither should you expect it to be. It is, however, challenging and great fun and you are PvPing for a genuinely worth cause.
And thats a hard thing to find in this game :)
