they are supposed to be tin cans. These things are incredibly powerful in fleets (once they get fixed) that you need to kill them on the approach or your fleet is screwed.
I think thats the point and the challenge of flying one of these ships, can you live long enough? _______________________________________________ Deadspace For Dead space!

This makes sense, if the description on the probes is bugged and they're only doing 10km radius (but with a 20km effect radius).
Makes one wonder whether new ships ever get tested, or if CCP just adds them into the game and they go trial by fire ... I mean, come on, let's see:
POS Manufacturing arrays = bugged (last I heard) Fighters = bugged (though it's the same ol' drone bug) Carriers = bugged Motherships = bugged Interdictors = bugged Titans = ... Take a guess

Not only this. Even changes to old ships can be bugged. All covops should get 5s recloak time. Unfortunately Helios has 30s like before patch. How much does it take to undock on SiSi in Helios and cloak? Looks like nobody test changes.

it would only make sence if the probe had a 20km diameter efect, however the tests I made do not apply to that reasoning:

I had 2 probes in the gate (had to recycle the probes) and he was at like 15km from me and the probe, and yet he still warps out.
I atempted to warp out too and I got out, even if I was at like 50m from the probe.
untill now the test were only sucessfull in station exit points. I was able to create a trafic jam outside a station with a single probe. ----------------

There's a dev post pointing out that the probe's should have a 40km diameter range and that the current bug is only a display glitch and has been forwarded to the Graphics department for fix...not sure if it's true but that's the word. See this thread.
Also, I fit 400mm armor to my Thrasher and have been able to put a serious hurt on inties before, so I'd imagine that these ships have at least comparable potential.

Didn't Ovuer say that interdictor probes wont work at gates becuase that would be exploitable?

erm.... what would be the point then? That wold be like saying that moblie warp distruptors won't work in gates because they are too powerfull. ----------------
