Ok here we go in this format...
Lets see who is creative
Ship Type: Armageddon
Ship Name: Solar Ghost V
Reasoning: Just liked the name and the "V" represents how many I lost of this type of ship since I first got my pilots license/skill for this class and type. All my ships, by class and type, are roman numeraled to reflect loss - hence this is my 5th Armageddon I have had due to Destruction in flight.

I usually go after greek, latin, or just ancient language names.
Names I have used in past:
Apoc: ADRASTOS (Meaning "Not inclined to run away") [Sold off]
Crusader: AIOLOS (Meaning "quick-moving or nimble") [blown up]
Retribution: ANDRASTE (Meaning "invincible in Celtic") [2x, 1 blown up due to lag in a mission, 2nd one is just very far away so its never used]

All my fighting ships are named after world war two German warships (Doenitz, Tirpitz, Lutznow, Admiral Hipper, Von Roeder, Bismark, Graf Spee... etc) and my mining barge is called Nostromo (the ore hauler from Alien).
Usually name my haulers by number just to keep track of them and whats in them.

Reasoning: Pre-scanner nerf, this was the most efficient name for a raven since raven looked much like Omber and it was difficult to spot in local. This name has been lucky. The ship has been killed once in one year. Survivng dozens of fleet battles, 1v1s and small engagements. It achieved over 250 killmails and over 1000 kills and was on its 4th insurance period before it got blown up due to my overestimation of structure tanking ability. The second re-incarnation has proven just as deadly.
