Usually name my haulers by number just to keep track of them and whats in them.

This name has been lucky. The ship has been killed once in one year. Survivng dozens of fleet battles, 1v1s and small engagements. It achieved over 250 killmails and over 1000 kills and was on its 4th insurance period before it got blown up due to my overestimation of structure tanking ability. The second re-incarnation has proven just as deadly.

Hawk: Last Chance I was in a bad way a long time ago and spent every penny I had on a hawk to run missions with. I was left flat broke so I named it last chance because that was what it was for me. Harpy: Volsung After sigurd the volsung a german hero. He's more commonly known as siegfried and is kind of a cross between saint george and achilles. Wolf: Fenrir Fenrir is a giant wolf from norse mythology who was imprisoned with magical chains. CCP stole my name and used it for a freighter just to spite me. Manticore: Black Hand Named after the group that assassinated archduke ferdinand. I have alot more but don't feel like typing all of a sudden.

Sometimes i use my imagination which tends to combine a variety of things i see around me, Variations on these names are then used for ships built from the same hull: e.g. executioner: "Pot Noodle" crusader: "Super Noodle" Malediction: "Dark Noodle" Also many of my ship names are drawn from works of Science Fiction, but particularly useful authors from the perspective of ship naming are Iain M. Banks and Anthony Reynolds. I also use a Roman Numerals system to indicate a previous ship of the same type has been killed in one way or another. My favourite three ship names i have currently: Ethics Gradient II (Retribution) Furious Purpose (Armageddon) Sweetcakes III (Dominix)

Ship Type: Incursus Ship Name: Alecto III Reasoning: In Greek mythology Alecto was one of the three Furies Virgil identified by name, in her case the name meaning "unceasing." This is the third ship by that name I've owned, the two being lost to my own stupidity/pirates with bigger guns than me. If they release teir 3 battleships, I might name that one - if I bother - Morrigan and instead name the Megathron Agrona after the Celtic Britain goddess of carnage. I'll probably use other such names for assault, heavy assault, and battlecruisers, just sticking to the theme, if I bother going with the tech 2 ship route. If afterwards I decide to train up another race's ships, I'll probably come up with another theme for each. For Minmitar mythological monsters like Surtur, Kraken, Leviathan, Fenris, etc, and if I go Amarr instead maybe legendary weapons, like Cortana, Durandal, Joyeuse, Kusanagi, etc. I refuse to use Caldari ships ICly because my character is something of a xenophiliac (in the sense of being the opposite of normal Caldari xenophobia) and OOCly because the Caldari and Caldari ships seem too popular.

Eagle [still on order from NAGA, damn the waiting list]: G.S. Gilead Pistol Reason: It shoots really hard and really far, just like Roland's Gilead pistols. Caldari Tier 3 sniper battleship [if they ever make it, I'll be first in line for one]: G.S. Deschain Reason: The ultimate gunner ship. Need I say more? Ferox: G.S. Incinerator Reason: I'd already used Eviscerator for my Moa, before battlecruisers were released. Moa: G.S. Eviscerator Reason: I always wanted a ship with this name. It's my absolute favorite name. Caracal [sold]: Disemboweler Reason: I actually got this ship after the Eviscerator, so I wanted to go with that theme. After the missile nerf, I never trained the new missile skills (I still only have 64K in missiles, I'm a gunner at heart) so it got kinda useless and I sold it. Osprey [sold]: Water Buffalo Reason: I was naming industry-related ships after beasts-of-burden, or something like that, and it was a mining ship. Mining is hell, so I got rid of it. Good riddance. Cormorant: G.S. Sound and Fury Reason: 7 guns firing at once is nice and loud, and if you just look at the ship, it looks like it thinks it's pretty badass...but in reality, it's not fantastically powerful, it's just a hopped-up frigate. Coercer [lost in combat]: Razorwing Reason: Look at it. It's sharp (hell, it looks like you could shave with it. Maybe.) And it flies really fast. I used it as an ultimate shuttle before the oversized AB/MWD nerf, with a 10MN AB and a full set of overdrive injectors in the lowslots. It was great for travel and for collecting loot, because of the relatively large cargo hold (although nanos are better for loot collection). Due to the nerf, I finally trained up the MWD skill and starting using my Executioner instead, but it's no good for collecting loot. Merlin: G.S. Dark Falcon Reason: I named this ship long before the Deschain Falcon...the Merlin is rather birdlike, and a rather dark shade of grey, and I thought it was a cool name. I like it. Kestrel [on loan to Soffiarme]: G.S. Redwing Reason: I have no idea Condor: G.S. Desecrator Reason: I was going to set it up as a tackler, before I decided I liked my Executioner better for that job. I just sorta thought it was a good name for a tackler, not sure why. Punisher: G.S. Golden Blade Reason: It's gold. And it's a fun toy for hurting stuff. 'Nuff said. Executioner: G.S. Slingblade I don't even know if it's a real word (other than the movie title) but it seemed like a good name for an Executioner. It's small and sharp. Iteron Mk V: Nikolai's * [word for male genitalia] You know how the default name for a ship is [Character Name]'s [Ship Name]? Like "Nikolai Nuvolari's Iteron Mk V"? I wanted to make it look like the default name, except with "***" instead of "Iteron Mk V", but it wouldn't fit with my full name, so I shortened it to Nikolai. It's not as cool Badger Mk II: G.S. Elephant Reason: The beasts-of-burden thing. Badger: G.S. As I desperately tried to push my cormorant toward the gate I realized I wasn't going to make it... So I loaded up the snowball launcher and let those pesky pirates have it! I managed 2 good hits before my ship tore apart. Well the pirates thought it was so funny that they actually paid me to replace my ship and let me come back and get my stuff. Hence the new destroyer's name... /Salute

Viscera - It sounds cool. Incitatus - The name of the stead of Nero (means Speed Demon - fitting). Silicus - Means rock in latin. I wanted something that sounded slow and sluggish. Moray Abyss - Doesn't mean anything AFAIK. It was the name of a boss from Ecco the Dolphin for the Megadrive (although I had the mega-CD version - woo for updated music!) and it always stuck as just sounding kick-ass. ___ The world isn't going to end; we're not that lucky...
