Eudoxus
|
Posted - 2006.01.31 15:00:00 -
[122]
Eudoxus was a scholar who lived in the 4th century BC and was the first documented person to propose that the Earth may revolve around the Sun rather than the other way around as believed at the time.
Seemed spacey and interesting and soooo.....although the original was a man and not a woman, Eudoxus in Eve was born.

DarkBluepanther001
|
Posted - 2006.01.31 15:25:00 -
[124]
my name comes from a song we made completely drunk while cutting class with a friend. It was the story of a bluepanther (as opposed to the pink panther), who just thought about having fun and ended up dying. The song was recorded with our crappy guitars, ridiculous, but was a local hit, it was even played in a small supermarket (ok I admit at night because the lyrics weren't politically correct)... Then we started calling each other bluepanthers when one of us was acting foolishly or had uncontrollable desires.
So I wanted to call myself bluepanther, but it sounded ***ish and it became darkbluepanther...
I guess that's how you end up with a stupid name...
Then like most of us I wanted to change it but CCP doesn't let people change their names

Dairc Lashan was the name of my favourite character from my days playing the pencil and paper role playing game "Megatraveller". He was a hotshot navy pilot in the game as such he bears no relation to the EvE incarnation what so ever.

[128]
Leomund Sardis is my name, and this is my first post. Greetings.
Leomund is from the old AD&D Greyhawk campaign. I just liked the name and my bald character looked like a Leomund. Leo makes for a nice shortened nickname.
Sardis is the name of the now-ruined capital city of the ancient kingdom of Lydia in Asia Minor. I've used Sardis as a name for various games for a long time. |

Back in my old school days I used to graffiti daz woz ere and then the date. As I got into my mid to late teens it became dazwoz followed by date, when I stated first playing networkable games in my pc, I think quake 2 was the first one I became DazWozUK. Never met another dazwoz in all the time ive been playing online so i guess it was a good choice.

If you know that, you're really old school.
Unfortunately, I misspelled the damn name and I didn't realize it until a week or so afterward. I really didn't want to have to start training all over again so I just have dealt with it.

Just another name, believe it means beloved, it's welsh and celtic in any case. First used as a D&D char when I got bored of using latin derived ones.

Yggr is another name for Odin. He has quite a few. You can see the name in Yggdrasil, or the Norse World tree. Yggdrasil also means "Odin's steed", hence the names of my ships.
All hail the Allfather (Alfodr), the God of Cargoes (Farmatyr), the Hanged God (Hangatyr).
All hail Yggr, the Terrible!

Originally by: Jalia Kovac From a Fighter/Cleric character I ran in Neverwinter Nights. I ended up being told there that Kovac means "blacksmith" in Slovenian - just a random invention by me at the time. Someone might be able to verify that for me here. :P
It actualy does mean that although it's missing the caron on the last letter... Correctly you would write blacksmith as kovač. AFAIK it is also a serbian word with the same meaning.
As for my name, a nickname from early childhood... And it's pronounced sheen-tsa, not sheen-ka.
Course once you've seen one Yeti you've seen them all. |
