First: I don't want to hear Vegas Sucks mmkay. 2nd: Loxy, Restrain yourself.
Right, so, whenever I try to input this 1280x768 resolution fraps into Vegas, it goes t.its up.
This is what I get... Linkage

ATI 9800Pro - 1Gig RAM should be fine with EVE. Frapses fine, I can replay it in Windows Media Player perfectly. And looks oh so sweet. Vegas just doesn't seem to like it.

I had the same problem when i tried to put the high-res fraps into after effects. The way i solved that one was to run the footage through virtualdub and encode it to xvid (or anything else) at the same res and a hight bitrate.

Raw fraps footage in high res takes a *lot* of system resources to handle. I've crashed many a player trying to get it to play. Premiere pro can handle it (just about) although it ain't gonna play nicely (very jittery during previews). Encoding into something else will help you work with it easier, but you will lose quality. You need to keep the frap's raw to get the super nice quality in the end

I have Sony and Adobe premier both and there is a way to get around this without having to use virtual dub just take the movie from fraps and put it into windows movie maker and slice it up there in pieces then take pieces and put them into sony individualy thats what I do with big files . Its alot easier to eat a pizza pie one slice at a time then trying to eat the whole pie at once :)

Leafo and I both use raw FRAPS, Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and nothing else.
My machine has 2 GB of RAM and I run EVE and record FRAPS directly to a partion on a pair of 74GB Raptor drives run in RAID 0.
Even tho I've seen some good work done with it, I'm with Loxy - Vega sucks. -

Very strange Heavy...
I have used Vegas 4.0 and Fraps for all of my videos and certainly have never seen anything like that..
I havent tried to put it to that resalution and frankly I dont see the point, I wouldnt want to go that high either, maybe its having to strech the video too much, or maybe your PC just cant handle or it could just be a bugged Vegas..
Nice setup you have there Seleene.. I wouldnt mind something like that. Currently I only have 1GIG of RAM and an 80 GIG HD which only has 16 gig left on it ( I need a new one.. bad) My G-Card is a G-Force FX5950 Ultra 256MB.
Oh and btw ... Vegas does not suck.. Its just Heavy and I are uber hehe

We use Vegas exclusively. For the people that think it sucks, please watch our videos. And your solution is to upgrade to 6.0.

I got less of a machine than Seleene and Leafo got less than me. Or used to at least...Anyway, we all can do 1280x768 in P-PRO but I why would you want to use x768 you unpure heretic! Proper HD and wide screen resolution for the win I tell you!
But Ikvar did tell you the solution, use Vegas 6. :)
For the rest of you, use what ever you want as long as it works, I only wish I could figure out After Effects since P-Pro does not do what I want in an easy way.

I have used Vegas myself (right off the disk) and I had some troubles rendering my eve videos as well as some of my personal videos as well.
I started using premiere pro (still learning how to use it)and I have not had any problems using my raw fraps with it.
I record on a single 7200RPM drive along with a 3GHz P-4 (HT), 1GB DDR-II ram with a 256MB 6800 Go video card and yes, this is on my notebook Crissy

Rendering it hasn't been a succes yet, but i'm sure i can tweak some settings.

What problems have you had with rendering? Because of all the options, it's not as easy as with Premiere, but you have more control over file size and quality.
What I use for most of my videos is:
- Video rendering quality: Best - Mode: Quality VBR - Format: Windows Media Video 9 - Image size: (Custom) 720x512 - Frame rate: 25 fps (PAL) - Seconds per keyframe: 1 - Quality: 93%
That's it, works wonderful. Just make sure you turn of "Render only loop regions" and use stretch to use output size (if needed).
