4k shield will go down in 30 secs top. TBH i wouldn't spend more time with this. AF are challenging, try to find a good, balanced compromise.
What are the biggest problem of AF warfare?
1) Nos 2) Web 3) Low lvl of shield/armor points 4) Not many slots 5) Not great damage output
Build your setup around these.

Yeah, I didn't plan to take it to the extreme, it was a fun set up! Sig radius was 55, which I didn't think was too bad. At peak recharge I think I guesstimated 50 shields per second? I know that's not that great in the grand scheme of things, but it seems good for a frigate.
As for a more effectual setup, do you think passive tanking isn't viable? It seems ideal for a heavy interceptor... but I'm quite new to the Jag, and there's plenty of wisdom in this thread to trial :)

i'm using with an alt the following setup: ( low sec ratting/occasional pvp)
Hi: 3x 200mm T2 ( emp ), malkut rocket launcher ( no CPU for arbalest) med: named MWD, Named scrambler, passive kinetic hardener T2 ( + 37% res), Med Shield extender T2 Low: 3x power diagnostic unit
I know it's ad odd setup, and can be pimped a bit more but actually that's the best i can fit with my skills.
The passive shield tanking setup might appear odd ( usually this are not much effective on frigates), but i compared several times with active shield/armour tanked/plated setup and this is still much better.
With my skills ( still average) i can scramble and MWD almost forever( should be forever with good skills). The shield amount is +2300 ( dont remember exactly) regen peek is over 15points/sec and the lowest resistance is 60% ( kin and explo).
Obviusly it's not "the perfect solo pvp setup", but isnt bad either.. I used it against low sec npc without any problem ( gurista, that's the reason for the kinetic hardener ), and even won some pvp fights. I think it's good as a general setup, obviusly dedicated setups for a specific rules are better, but i like the flexibility of this one.

1) no AB and no MWD
2) no scrablers, so u cant stop nobody from warp away. And this is the main rule for interceptos: tackle someone since dont come chivalry ( dammage dealers)
I'm not arguing if your setup is good or bad, just the fact that intie use mwd, so u realy cant call that way your setup ( without any propulsion upgrade). I realy cant be used for intie rules.

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my post. I wasn't referring to my original geeky shield setup (bad for PvP) as a heavy interceptor idea, more along the lines of is the Jag using passive tanking a good choice for a basis of a heavy interceptor? I don't think a heavy interceptor should be aimed at stopping ceptors, so I think we could get away with an AB over a MWD.

have you thought about removing the AB (cruisers usually approach you, well at least happens to me all the times, as they think in getting an easy kill) and swapping it with some shield hardn?
Also the scramle is sustainable with the normal recharge rate of the cap, so you could remove the NOS for a Rocket launcher and get more damage.
Bang a 10% projectile damage rig and a +10% rof rig (YES you want to rig the AF, no they DON't blow up easily, YES they are F*$ú%&^ng great ships) and your damage is almost as good as a wolf (with unfortunately not the same range)

Here is the PvE setup I use. The fitting is pretty tight, so the fitting might depend on your skills. The damage though is awsome. I use this setup for Cosmos missions that require frigates. I'm still tweaking it a bit. For PvE it works good, I wouldn't reccomend using any of these fittings in PvP obviously. You can also do level 2 missions and most level 3s with this setup if you have the right skills. I'm eventually going to make it full faciton. Dread Guristas Invul field gets put on as soon as I get a drop off Guristas Extrav hehe.

I havent gotten alot of pvp action in this setup but I have held my own more then once.. Runs missions like a dream
Highs 3x 200m AC II 1x arb rocket
Mid 1x ab II 1x md extender II 1x web
Low 1x gyro 2x shield relay
rigs 2x shield recharge (cant remember what they are called at the moment)
I tank fairly well, never need cap unless im closing on somone, and have a nice dps considering.
Im personally fitted with a set of halo inmplants that kill the negatives of the rigs.. along with max shield rigging..
I love the pirate that mistakes me for a rifter :)

I have been using the jag for a while now and had great results for this in either small gangs or solo stuff.
HI: 3x200mmII's(barrage s) 1x rocket launcher (em rockets) Meds: 1mn ab II, med shield extnd II, kinetic deflection II, fleeting web/warp scramb depending on who has what in gang or solo. Lows: overdrive injector, gyro stab II pdu
can't get on eve atm but gives around 1.7k of shield and flys at around 1k with okish navigation skills

Just got assault II done, and bought a jag.
Highs: 3x 200mm scouts
Mids: Cold gas MWD Kinetic passive shield hardener small c5-L shield booster 20 km warp disrupt
Lows: 2x gyro t2 Amplitude signal enhancer (For those awesome lock times.)
with my skills I have a 7.78943404295x damage mod on each gun with the gyros also. Shield resists 75/60/60/60 lol I love this ship.

Can ONLY be done with maxed fiting skills. AWU :5 Shield Upg :5
High : 3x 200mm II , 1x knave S NOS Med : 1x scramble (9km) , 1x web , 2x MSE II Low : 2x Shield pow relay , 1x b88 MAPC (11 pg)
Advantage:
* U will have 3300 shield , with 300 sec recharge rate. Ship recharges like a Small shield Bosster II running full time. * U will have high end Autos which boost your dps. * Small nos runs scram and web forever.
Disadvantage:
* No speed mods.
This is my solo setup, can kill 1 0n 1 all the other Assault frigs, ONLY if u manage to web them.Can kill some cruisers too if picked right.

K so I know this is kinda expensive, but when i've got Trajectory Analysis up to a decent level I was thinking of running this:
3x 200mm II (Barrage) 1x Arby Standard (Whatever)
1x MWD II 1x Shadow Web 1x Disruptor II 1x Giisti A-Type Booster
2x Gyro II 1x Cap relay
2x Fall-off rigs
Was thinking that this should make a pretty tasty cruiser killer (kinetic missles and bees aside). The 13k web range puts you out of MedNos and Web range and the guns should hit just (but only just) within falloff. I've got most of the stuff already and i'm just waiting for skills to train. On the other hand should I just sell all that stuff on ebay and buy something sensible instead. A volkswagen perhaps?

emp regular ammo (close range max damage)
1 named AB 1 webber named 1 warp jam 20k 1 target speed and range mod (forget name)
1 gyro named 1 armor rep named 1 agility mod (forget name)
the 250mm artilery is so i dont need to boost powergrid and for close range fighting.
many times i lose my wolf with 280 Artilery cuz other get to close and my 280mm will not hit inside range but with my 250mm your ship can be touching mine and i will still damage you but the long range is not reliable.

My daily all-rounder:

1xMWD T2 1xBest named 20k scram (If you feel really wealthy T2 24k scram works nicely but thats more helpful in a gang. You can also fit a 7.5k scram...but I like to keep my distance options open ) 1xBest named webber 1xFS-9 Med SE
1xEDC (Emergency DC) 2xMk I Generator Refits-Diagnostic System
You'll need pretty good engineering and AWU skills to fit and obviously AF to level 4 to get the benefit. Decent tank, nice resists, good lock time, fast, and can handle most cruisers and below if flown competently. I'm fully aware of the semi mixed tank thing going on...but in my view DC's are one of the most overlooked mods in game.
The tough ones to fight with this setup are Ishkur, Vexor, and Arbitrator...but thats probably due my generally forgetting to change overview to show those bloody T2 drones chewing me up  "Lead Me..Follow Me..Or get the **** out of my way" General George Patton USA

I run almost an identical setup as yours except I have a best named mwd rather than an ab and 2 gyro II's and 1 speed mod in lows. Orbit the target at 10km and if they get too close , web and kite them

Using Hail S is suicide in a frigate, as far as I'm concerned. Also, against what is that DPS calculated, the standard Quickfit target? 67 DPS is terrible, in any case, specially if you're using ACs. You can pull off 70DPS with an arti setup which can do the ghey crow dance.

I would take a plated Wolf (falloff bonus) over Jaguar for a AC setup, because of the AF mass and agility, even cruiser can outmaneuver you most of the time, making it impossible to maintain close range (happens very often, that a cruiser nos u dry, unable to MWD burst to hold range and the cruiser simple MWD out of your falloff+optimal and kills you slowly at 10km)
my advice is use artillery on jaguar for pvp |

Fitting some very usefull rigs can make this ship even more pretty...i wouldnt bother about isks because this ship is around 12m on the market and rigs are around 8/9m...
I would suggest to count the rigs as the 4th layer after high/med/low. Please guys suggest some usefull rigs that can put up the whole "common" fitting upsidedown...
