Another major factor with larger corps vs smaller corps is the timezone spread. Some corps might be larger but are smaller across different timzones. Where as one unified corp can organize a larger group on the same timezone. |

Over our TS, I studder the words, GÇ£@#$% war target!!! Charon!!!!! In Colelie!!!! !@#$%. HeGÇÖs linked in our intel channel.GÇ¥ Why the excitement? First, itGÇÖs a Charon-duh. Secondly, Marlin was about 15 jumps away in Amarr, and we had only two other U-MAD members online. I guess for some people watching the Walking Dead is more important than playing Eve.
For those of you unfamiliar with Minmatar space, Colelie is just 2 systems away from Hek. Hek, being the nearest trade hub was the most likely destination of the Charon. It was looking like we may lose this juicy target.
Thank you CCP for reducing the Jump Clone wait time! My nearest clone was in Eram, which is 3 jumps away from Hek in the opposite direction. My nearest ship was in Hek GÇô maybe we can get this kill after all. The race against time was on!
While making preparations for the jump, my alt discovers the next good break. GÇ£HeGÇÖs auto-piloting!GÇ¥ I yell in Team Speak. Thank you Derp Alliance! Auto-piloting a freighter during a wardec! Really? No time for LOLs right now. I was now one jump from Hek and so was the Charon.
We a rule in U-MAD, GÇ£DonGÇÖt do anything stupid, unless the payoff is big.GÇ¥ I felt this moment may have been why that rule was created. After landing in station, get into the Typhoon, scan local for other war targets that were in system, and I noticed about 10 were in system GÇô not good. Does the war target have a scout? Will I spook him? What ifGǪ.A million other thoughts/questions entered my mind.
Focus. The Charon was approaching the Hek gate in Uttindar, and heGÇÖs about to jump in. I head to meet him on the Hek side of the gate. My alt waits on the Hek gate in Uttindar to make sure the freighter jumps. Marlin lands on the gate at zero. I scream in TS, GÇ£He jumped! He jumped! He jumped!GÇ¥
Side note: In Eve, everything must be repeated 3 times before anyone will listen or react to what youGÇÖre saying GÇô not sure why. I think itGÇÖs part of the game mechanics.
The engagement couldnGÇÖt have timed that any better. Taking advantage of available game options, lots of luck, and a war-target that completely underestimates the little guy made this all possible.
Long story shortGǪscram, webbed, F1 and approach. The freighter exploded about 6K from the gate.
Our war report was cleared/restarted when we created our new alliance In the Pursuit of Happiness. Our ticker now reads U-MAD GÇôBRO. Pretty cool right? ItGÇÖs the little things that makes us smile (thatGÇÖs what she said).
As of day 8 of the 300 day war, we havenGÇÖt lost a single ship. Our proud, overconfident adversaries have lost 8 ships totaling $2.3B. More to follow.... |

I was expecting a 5 man escort or something, considering I was talking to one of their members a few days ago and was told they would bring a gang for us. The lack of common sense in people disappoints me some times. This guy was practically alone, with a ****** in corp scout, and was autopiloting. Oh well, 2 charon kills in a day. :)

Thanks! I'm trying to make this as entertaining as possible, while giving some insight into the mind of a PVPer in a merc corporation. Hopefully, it will encourage some of the care bears in Eve to give PVP a try. |

I was fully expecting to be ganked on the gate, I think I would have happily traded my typhoon for that Charon. As luck would have it, his scout must have left the gate just before I arrived. I never saw the scout.

We go where the fight is. We went to the derp alliances lowsec system but they pos'd up and "started to form up." We waited an hour or so but them having twice our numbers wasn't enough so they continued to "form up." We left due to boredom.
Furthermore, a few months ago, we accepted a contract in nullsec.
