First fanfest I had a backpack full of heavy Belgian beer (6-9 large 750 ml bottles). I chose a a hippy in sandals with dreads and a bigger backpack to walk behind. While I clincked and chinged my way through customs, they made the hippy come to them and I walked on trough....

When you arrive in KEF, there is a Duty Free shop on arrival, there you have poster telling you what are the alcohol limit you can bring into Iceland. And it's somethin like: 6L of beer+1strong alcohol bottle or 3L of wine or 1.5 L of strong alcohol but my memory can be wrong...
Can't wait to be there !!!! |

Malcanis wrote:What's the duty free allowance in Iceland?
According to the official site you can import duty free:
- 1 liter spirits and 1 liter wine and 6 liters beer OR
- 3 liters wine and 6 liters beer OR
- 1 liter spirits and 9 liters beer OR
- 1,5 liter wine and 9 liters beer OR
- 12 liters beer.
Spirits comprise alcoholic beverages containing more than 21 percent alcohol; Wines comprise alcoholic beverages, other than beer, containing 21 percent alcohol or less. CCP Phantom - German Community Coordinator |

Well ok, but they are not promoting at all the fact you can bring 12 L of beer and hopefully, nobody told us about that last year |

12 litres of beer sounds heavy to carry, and who the hell buys wine in a litre? Wine bottles are 750ml.
I wonder if 4 bottles of wine and a litre bottle of spirits would work? Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.

Maybe its different where you guys live, but in Iceland they have these crazy houses that you can walk into all day and most of the night where you can pay money and they will actually give you alcohol, its CRAZY!
there, i stopped you all from having to bring warm beer over on the plane |

Well may be, but when you stay 1 week in an appartement in Iceland, beleive me you don't spend your whole night&day in bars/pubs/whatever, especially when you have a pool/jacuzzi @home, and opening hour on week day, well you know... closing early blablabla

I'm told these crazy houses also charge crazy prices.

Protip-> avoid hotel cabin like it got herpes, unless your a midget and have no problems with small rooms.
Book all the tours, and bring cold weather hiking gear ( good shoe's at least )
Polar beer = best beer :) But roaming city for finding a better one is recommend.

A better protip is that now the venue has moved, Hotel Cabin is like 40 minutes walk from the harbour/city centre area where Fanfest will be and where all the other Eve players will be staying. |

What are you talking about? CCP has a table for FW last year, they made sure everyone working on FW attended!
You can't fault CCP for actually making sure 100% of FW workers showed up to the FW table! Repair Drones should be able to repair anyone ... really, they should. -áThink of them as the first targetable subsystem if you're worried about PvP and for missions if someone wants Rep drones over a flight of Hobs, who cares. -áThere is no reasonable objection here other than it's always been that way (so was RR until recently). |

I simply want concrete confirmation of the dates. I can't risk spending the money only to have the dates change. |

Badly worded on my behalf, I'm actually after the package deals which varied vastly in price last year with location and the hotel chosen |

Here to remind you that as time ticks implacably by, we find ourselves 25% of the way through December, with only a week to go before the promised deadline of half way through December is reached, and not much longer then that before my travel agent goes on Christmas break.

I stayed there last year, while the rooms are pretty small, the beds were fine, it was cheap, staff were helpful and the place was packed with EvE players and I had a great time.
TEAM HOTEL CABIN FTW
In fairness if you're complaining about your hotel room being too small you're just spending far too much time in there. sleep, shower, leave |
