Blast, thats 6. Ok, but in all seriousness heres my list.
1. The In-Game Industry/Economy
Ok, this pretty much encompasses Mining, Research, Manufacturing, and Refining into one big concept. The #1 feature in EVE. How a player can be part of a corporation thats part of an alliance who controls entire regions of space, and contributes to these organizations by specializing one of these jobs to make the whole thing work? AMAZING. Plus, the variety of materials, sciences, equipement, etc. makes the game feel like an economy where everyones skills matter. This is what sets EVE apart from other games where everyone just becomes a Level MAX crafter and continually spews out the same few "uber 1337" items. (Note: I'm not talking about how the Corp/Alliance survives among other corps. Let a PvPer add that to his list. I'm a Miner not a Figther)
2. The ENORMOUS "Tech Tree/Skill Tree"
What can I say? I love tech trees. Heck, its why I love games like Civilization IV. This was what caught my eye when I stumbled into a website mentioning EVE and it helped suck me in to the universe.
3. The Skill System
Gotta love how specialized and diverse everyone characters are and how we all perform roles in a larger entity, be it Corp, Alliance, or just the universal economy. The sheer number of skills is almost staggering. Toss in offline skilling, and I think we got ourself an MMORPG winner here.
