Hi! We are planning a mass test on Singularity on Thursday, October 24th, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time).
What exactly is being tested?
- Test client and server performance in Rubicon
- Test database performance and stability
- Some features for Rubicon: DX11 support, warp disruption bubbles, deployables, warp speed changes
How to connect to Singularity for this test:
Test steps:
- Meet in FD-MLJ at the gate to X-BV98
- Jump to X-BV98
- Align to planet 1
- Fleet-warps to planet 1 (different range per fleet)
- Try to mass-deploy deployables
- Wing warps (if possible with alignment)
- Squad warps to POS beacon, with alignment to POS
- Shoot the control tower (which has siphon units)
- Align to Poitot gate
- Fleet 1: Jump to Poitot and setup gate camp (with bubbles)
- Fleet 2: Jump to Poitot + fight a the gate
What else should I know?
- We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme
- Please bring many different ships, we will provide cynos for capitals (but sub-capitals are preferred)
- Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for this mass test
- If possible: Bring deployables and warp disruption bubbles (more details later).
Important: Change your DX setting the launcher to DX11 as soon as Rubicon is back on Singularity, if you changed it to DX9 for the previous build. CCP Habakuk | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Gridlock-á Bug reporting | Mass Testing |

To expand on the "Test database performance and stability" bullet point then we are planning to upgrade TQ's primary game cluster database from Microsoft SQL Server 2008 to 2012 in early December. SiSi will be connected to a 2012 database instance for this test and this is one of final steps of a long process to upgrade TQ. Erlendur S. Gaia Ma'chello wrote:I will not be able to do this test as it is not during or near my lunch hour (as most previous mass tests were). So you will have to get along without the only Mac user who gives feedback in the feedback thread.
There will be additional mass tests at a later point that you will hopefully be able to attend. CCP Vertex-á |-á-áLead Graphics Quality Analyst-á |-á Team Trilambda

How many SP's will we receive for participating, and will these SP's be available on TQ? No. Singularity only. Seriously? Doubt I'll bother then. well how can those 2 mill sp be of use if we can't use them in the real game? Srsly. Make the reward 50k instead but on TQ and you'll get unprecedented numbers.
The SP are rewards for people who want to test out fits/ships on Singularity before commiting to them on TQ. Giving out SP on TQ would result in more attendance than our test server could handle, I would wager :)

Maximus Aerelius wrote: What are the deployables called so we can easily find them on SiSi please? I'm patching up at the moment but I'm sure people who are late to patch would find this of benefit.
The three deployables that you should attempt to drop in the "Try to mass-deploy deployables" step are:
- Mobile Depot - Mobile Tractor Unit - Mobile Cynosural Inhibitor
These aren't available through the market yet, but we've dropped various cans outside the Intaki Bank Depository at FD-MLJ VII - Moon 2.
Please take only one of each (if your cargohold allows it) and attempt to deploy them in any way you see fit once the order is given (Through the right click menu or the awesome drag and drop functionality) |
