You completely missed the point.

Ya see its the Crap lot of 8 year old mummy-bought-you-an-account-for-your-birthday players who ruin it for the rest of the normal honest pirates. ---------------------------------

The whole point I see here is that some people are honest and dishonest. It has nothing to do with whether your a pirate, carebear scum, or a PvPer. Its all about your personality and mood. Personally I've never killed after a ransom (my one and only ransom -_-) but I wish I had because the b***h owed my 25$ USD in real life and was refusing to pay it. Popping his BC and ransoming his pod was the best feeling in the world. ================== ALT OF SCOUNDRELUS |

As far as we know the guy you went for was a law abiding citizen, and was under attack. I think its reasonable to defend his mining op by sending you home in a pod.
Im sure you wouldn't have had any problem blowing up his ship, so don't complain when he destroys yours.
Honor and honesty are all pretty much dependant on your point of view. In many peoples opinion its dishonerable to be a pirate at all, and so lying to one isn't a problem.

Honourable or not, it works both ways, pirate or non pirate, doesnt mean all of that type can be branded due to 1 mans actions, its very much a person to person thing.
Some keep their word. Some dont.
Its up to the opposing invididual to find out which their opponent is, this is where a corp/pilots reputation usually kicks in.

HAHAHAHA - sorry thats funny. Stop whining about someone lieing to you or not keeping his word. Let me spell it out for you...YOU ARE A PIRATE, you take what is not yours! You ransom isk from people for their ships! When people kill you...its because YOU ARE A PIRATE, train more skills buy a new ship and take your revenge, just like every carebear swears to do after they are poded for the first time.

I was ready to negotiate with soyemia and stopped my fire. but in about 10 - 15 seconds my armor dropped from 75% to about 25%. i had to restart my armor repairer and kill him faster than he could kill me during the negotiations.
i noticed that my 2 jettisons dissapeared, but soyemia claims not shooting them. can anybody explain what else could happen to them ?

Doesn't mean they're not a pirate, and I find the most trustworthy people in the game are carebears, cause they are the paranoid ones.
It think this version of your statement makes FAR more sense.
You think a pirate would attack if the odds weren't in their favor? You think pirates never smack-talk? You think carebears aren't paranoid? You must be from the bizzarro EVE universe.

You know, despite all the usual pirate/carebear flames, there is an undercurrent of tolerance in this thread. People from both sides recognizing that honesty works on a person by person basis rather than a generalization of one's proffession. It's nice to see.
To the OP... why do I care that you got blown up? Even if things happened like you said and your target was dishonest, who's gonna be in that position ever again? It's a fair assumption that that particular person will never be 'ransomming' another pirate. So who cares?

It's beautiful. The carebears and anti-pirates, even on this thread, continually whine about pirates blowing up everyone else even after the ransom. How that is "dishonorable" and that being one of the major reasons why they never pay a ransom.
But then a miner warps back in a combat ship, negotiates a leave of system, and then pops the pirate... that's okay? The carebears and antipirates support that act of dishonesty?

I've gone gone up against 2 on 6 and 1 on 6, when severely outnumbered by bigger ships and win.
It happens, and I'm generally outnumbred most the time so you learn to deal with it.

Uhm, you are asking for sympathy 'cause your ship got blown up after you tried to blow someone else's ship up?
Still, if you guys agreed on something, it's pretty low if he broke that agreement, no matter if it's a pirate or carebear.
Don't understand why Majko wanted you to leave the system forever though. Every system needs it's friendly neighbourhood pirate to make the game interesting.

Pot, meet the kettle.
and then theres the part where the would-be pirate never says he actually did agree to the 'ransom" and was leaving,
and the part where the person who was initially attacked by said pirate, at least by their "testimony" was attacked again after ceasing fire....
the miner did nothing wrong, as far as has been shown here. if anything it sounds like the would be pirate is the one that broke the so called deal.
but really ,theres no place for the would be pirate to complain. they started it. if they can't finish it, then thats their own problem. a carebear miner whining aboug getting blown up... at least they didn't start it!
its funny when the bully gets beaten up by their victim, and deserved.
