What do you play when you are just bored with eve...
Been really sick past couple days. Today I lost a jaguar due to lag. Couple weeks ago I lost a retribution due to lag. Retribution was never returned was told there was no known server problems at the time, which they didnt even get back to me until 9 days after the fact.
So sitting here looking at 3 accounts and not wanting to get on any of them atm... went to wal-mart to see if I could see a game I would wanna try, didnt really see any... Seen Civ IV but I have civ I, II, and III so Civ IV cant be different enough to pay bout $45...
Seen X^3 but wasnt sure If I wanted to get into that, anyones opinions on it?
Also thought bout gettin quake IV, is it multiplayer because I'm not to fond of the singleplayer story in the quake series... Is there even a story?
been playin a game called
ferion but its a very slow web based game so kinda not really fun...
Well anyone have any game recommendations?

Ogame is HORRIBLE.
I cannot stand it, its just a really really bad game. Boring as heck and very stereotypical of online PHP-based games that took 2 hours to code.
On the other hand, Ferion is Master of Orion, online, massively multiplayer, and reloaded

I'm in the same boat as Justus, the lag has started getting to me to the point where I only really log in to switch skills now.
I recently reactivated my Dark Age of Camelot account, moved to a new server/realm and its just what the doctor ordered. Lag-free PvP with hundreds of other people simultaneously just isn't a reality in EVE at the moment.
Edit: Silent Hunter 3 is nice, for a few days. It lacks depth however ~ no pun intended.

I have to agree that while the lag can be problematic at times, its really not THAT bad. Its really only an issue on weekends and I LIVE IN FARKING OURSULAERT!

Sorry but it makes a difference between 2-4mb Broadband and 56k, and mine isn'd bad enough not to log on at all.
I believe sir, that you are exaggerating. The real complaint is large scale conflict, which really is suffering regardless of connection.

Play the Galactic Civilizations II beta, which is being released in 2 weeks!
If you like the civ series you'd probably like this, as it's set in space, and you can design your own ships. Also, the AI is actually good unlike most other games in the genre.

Wow, Galciv finally got around to letting you design your own ships?
Space Empires IV, published by the same company, is far more in-depth, with FULL ship customization that was so good that the designer made a Freelancer-style RPG version of the game with few fitting changes other than splitting the shields and armor into sides

these are
classics ive been playing for yrs.
st: armada I and II incase i find a good mod.
total annihilation: spring (gpl)
freelancer2 (neva played it till recently, installed all the gismos for it)
bf2 & addon (trying not to go ott with it)
f.e.a.r (got stuck...)
X3 (for nice eyecandy)
'bout it, sort it out ccp, but i still play eve 2-3hrs a day.

I normally play a PS2 game with my wife for a break from the PC, either Battlefront 2 or some RPGish story based stuff (Metal Gear series / Final Fantasy etc). If I feel like playing a PC game it's always Eve.
Going from your list up the top I recommend Freelancer since you have it there. The story is a great pulp sci-fi vibe. Very entertaining for a few days.
Online is a lot of fun, I played a lot of that (GetOnIt, Internode servers). Then of course I discovered Eve which blew that out of the water. The solo game is still great fun though. Towards the end I really felt like I was caught up in a sci-fi movie.

Civ IV is about as close to Civ III as Doom 3 is to Doom 2. And it's awesome

Used to play lots of BF2 but kind of stopped when all the new "content" expansions came out and you had to pay or people have an advantage. I keep Dancing With Intensity installed (DDR PC clone) for some quick amusement, and I've been getting into homeworld 2 for the first time.. ever. I just can't play it properly because I'm getting some wierd draw issues where the screen flickers.
Anyone know how to resolve that? I really don't know why it does that, must be an opengl thing.
And most recently, Freespace 2.. because I'm not even sure I got to the end on that one. Graphics are far worse than I remembered ;f

I play Dragon(ball) Quest 8, or BoF 3/4, I just got Both NWN Diamond Edition, and Spellforce premium, which is the main game + explansions, so I have a big list of games I should probably play if i take break from EVE.

Actually civ4 is so different from the other civ games it's in many ways a completely new game. It's well worth the money if you're a civ fan. I'm waiting for Rise of Legends otherwise.
