Like the topic says... Everyone says the Phoon is the worst BB, yet of the 4 tier1 BBs it is the most expensive? What gives? 79 mil the cheapest phoon in Jita (69 the cheapest I found anywhere) while Dominix goes for 57 and Armageddon for 60? Am I missing something?

Maybe because the people holding typhoon BPO are far less numerous than the people holding other BS's BPOs? Hence they have less time researching their ME?

It doesn't suck. People claim it sucks so that the DEVs will fix its short comings faster. Many ships have short comings not just the phoon. But it is more expensive to make than any other tier 1 BS from the BPO last time I checked.

Check out in what quantities. I'll hazzard two guesses: 1. Typhoon is more expensive to build and 2. when few make them, prices will rise. Since so few buy them there's few who'll make them.
I know guess 1 is correct.
Dominix cost about 50M to make and Typhoon cost about 60M. (Dominix is cheapest tier 1 and Typhoon is most expensive of tier 1)

because typhoon has the highest production costs of all tier 1 BS

Yep, i'll second that. Typhoon is the most expensive tier 1 because it has the highest mineral requirements to build. Simple as that.

It's because at the start (using CCP-set prices) the Tier 1 Battleships all cost about the same to make. The Typhoon had a lot of Zydrine that was counter-acted by less of other minerals. With the over-inflation of Zydrine prices the Typoon also costs more

It dosn't get any decent bonuses, and it dosn't have a true strong point. It can kill things, and it's not worthless, but it dosnt have a niche like the other tier 1 bs.
It's optimal bonus is damn near useless due to it's 4 out of 8 high slots being turrets.
What can it do better than the geddon? Not much at all.

geddon - ganker/fleet ship
domi - drone carrier
typhoon - 4 gun's with an optimal range bonus, missles useless on it, nos only help so much and it dosent have that great of a tank unless you got 6+ nos

geddons are easiest HAC kill of all bs. question was asked and answered. rock/scissors/paper.
as for you 'unbiased' description of the phoon... weirda prolly would have put 'support bs'. but oh - all t1 can do that... yes they can, just not as well as a phoon (unless it is a scorp in it primary ew role - which is damn good support!  )
and for the record - am looking forward to a better 2nd bonus like everyone else... the phoon is far from gimped though. common opinion != true state of a ship.

I have it on good word from Kerdia in the Sarum Family that the heirs are also putting up new chicken wire on thier slaver hound pens... might make the sails harder to make as well.

Only semi usefull fitting I can imagine on a phoon is like 4 nosfs 4 AC and fly it as a really fat tackler/HAC killer.It can even kill BS out of boredorm,but well,any other BS can do that.Or you cant afford its tier 2 counterpart...
