I don't think PvP lasts long enough, it seems like you're fitting a ship and looking for a fight about 99% of the time, and the 1 percent of the time you find a fight its over in seconds. In star fleet command, ships could fight each other for 5 minutes to an hour easily.
If anyone has played starfleet command or starfleet battles you know the type of pvp I am talking about, in eve you barely get to enjoy the battle, as soon as you are primaried its over, and you can't stick around to watch either. I would like a spectator mode to watch fights from the station.

I've never been in a fleet fight thats lasted more than 4-5 minutes to be honest, even when I was in goonfleet fights didn't last very long, we cynoed in caps to kill a titan once and it took less than 10 minutes. I am the dominix tackling him.

My fights usually last 2 minutes to 30 minutes. You must not be doing it right. Try getting into wormholes! Always something to shoot! |

Don't worry, your fights will last longer as you get more experience.
Its not uncommon for your guns to go off prematurely while still messing around in highsec your first time.
Eventually, youll be able to control yourself enough to get to lowsec , and even null (if your partner is interested) before your missiles leave the launchers.
One day, you get to play around in the Wormhole..and youll be all..WOW! THATS AWESOME! Hell, you may even want to smoke afterwards.
Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

I've watched hundreds of videos, most fights last 2 minutes.

I have already done 8 hour fights in EVE several times, that last 5 hour slug match was 6VDT-H, we don't need longer fights... |

The OP is generally talking about 1 on 1 and small scale engagements I think.
I can agree that most engagements are rather short lives and would offer more fun if they lasted longer.
But... Reality is many engagements are actually really short. Combat itself is far more about controlling the field and the terms if engagement before actually engaging in a match.
I think if would be more fun if these battles were longer, but they would be less important, less thrilling overall.
PVP is about combat yes, but 95% if PVP happens before the first shot is ever fired. That is how it is really done and that is how EVE does it and it really is exciting. |

A lot of fights are over quickly. It's good adrenaline that way.
But try getting into a 1v1 fight where both sides have Incursus'es. Takes like 45 minutes before somebody dies.

My experience of pvp is that i usually try to avoid it, but when it's unavoidable usually about 5 to 30 people want to join in.
I find it most satisfying travelling with a gang of about 15 when we jump on 1 or 2 really hot looking travellers.
Now i hope this post hasn't disturbed anybody too much, as this thread is being taken seriously by some and made a coarse joke by others.
