Fist jump took ages and initiated emergency warp upon entering system Random missiles and lasers appeared directed at my ship even though I wasn't being aggressed (this occasionally happens on TQ, but not as much as tonight) There appeared to be an issue with chat channels where upon switching channels all the text would take around 10 seconds to display. |

Did you feel this degraded the visual experience? no Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: had more lag while hitting the POS (down to 5 fps) than while fighting at the gate. The only bugs I've noticed were chat related, like chat echo (write once, appears twice) and random lag while swiching tabs. I used MJD quite a few times and really had no delay and everything seemed smooth enough.

Total Memory before Poitot jump: about ~600Mb Total Memory after Poitot jump: ~1,100Mb
FPS went down to below 5fps during the fight, but CPU performance was around 45~55% and was really impressive. Some of my clients was just peaking near 50% utilization, and only the target caller (assigned sentries) peaked up to 95%~100% CPU.
Working set size is 818Mb on the target caller, and 764~706Mb on the others.

Oh so that was what I saw while zooming out on my ship, the muddied colors/textures definitely caught my attention at low settings. I just tested it again and it starts at 11 zoom buttons out, then at 22 and then it stays the same after that. So.. three levels? Maybe increase the second one to around 22 and the third to 30.
The effect is also present in the fitting window, and I can see only 2 levels which seems to start at 4 mousewheels out. And it looks like the feature is missing in both the ship hangar view and the captains quarters mode.
[i] Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:
The usual module lag and overview lag is there, even as I was zoomed out and away from the fray.
There was this thing I stumbled upon though, with a Survey Scanner for asteroids. When pressing CTRL on the keyboard, I can lock objects from the overview, fleet broadcast history and the Survey scanner results. While pressing X on the keyboard, I can broadcast targets from the overview, the fleet broadcast history, but not on the survey scanner results? I tested this a couple of times, and it seems the X broadcast key is broken for the survey scanner results window. |

The space scene took a long time to load whenever I entered a new area, either from a gate jump or just warping to another grid. The main example: I never saw the POS force field. The POS was destroyed before it loaded. Also it took a looonnnggg time for my ship to appear.
Running the test: better fleet formation is needed. Use adverts or something.

Machine Info and Settings DirectX version your client6 was running: DX11 OS version: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz (8 CPUs) 3.8GHz (Turbo boost) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690, Display Memory: 4014 MB RAM: 65.536 GB RAM DDR3 (OC to 1600 MHz) How many clients were you running at the same time? 7 (frigs) Graphic setting of the client (low / medium / high): Optimized Settings for Performance All clients running in "Fixed Window", Window Size: 1920x1080, Present Interval: Interval one Effects: Camera Shake set Miscellaneous: none set Anti-Aliasing: Disabled Shader Quality: Low Texture Quality: Medium LOD Quality: Low
User Experience Average FPS during the fight at the gate in Pitot, zoomed out: between 15 and 21 Average FPS during the fight at the gate in Pitot, zoomed in: between 15 and 21 Average FPS - Zoomed in (no brackets): 15 and 21
Was client performance better or worse compared to your TQ experience with the same settings and fleet size? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) Not participated in big fleet fights on TQ but a "5"!
Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? None
We added texture LODing to reduce the client memory, textures loading when zooming in and out can be delayed in heavy scenes. Did you feel this degraded the visual experience? Not noticed because of overall lagging!
Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: No major problems with all 7 clients! After the first jump again some ships from my clients are about 1 Mill. km from the Gate/cyno-suppliers away but no crashes. FPS changed plus minus 5 while changing brackets. Overall the performance was ok - but if there are more capitals and bubbles than it will be difficult! There is still a lot of space for performance improvement from server side! |

Musashi Date wrote:Machine Info and SettingsDirectX version your client was running (Cntrl+F to see this information): Running on DX9; the launcher settings says "! Your computer only supports DirectX 9" and the selection box has been greyed with DirectX9 in it. This was.. peculiar because my dxdiag clearly says I have DirectX 11 on. OS version:Win7 64bit CPU:Core2Duo [email protected] GPU:Radeon 4670 2GbRAM:4Gb DDR2
I'm not sure what Windows is reporting but that card does not support DX11, only DX10 and 10.1. |
