This mail sent out in corp mail to Stella Nova United corp members was intercepted by us. Isn't it interesting how expect to lose the fight?
Quote: 2006.02.10 04:22 Our help has been requested by our new allies. They are planning a major attack on LS-JEP. They have requested that we bring any members who are willing to come up and help fight F-E and V
Any member who would like to help in this massive fleet operation, please be ready between 4-5pm EST (21:00 GMT/EVE Time) on the 10th (tommorow)
Please make sure all ships are 100% T1 fitted. Do not bring any HACs, Ceptors, or any other T2 Ships.
If you can afford to bring a Battleship please configure it for long range. If you cannot please bring a frigate/cruiser configured for tackling.

So they are on purpose gonna fly t1 ships fitted with t1 mods. Isn't that a legitimate choice to make? I know it's abit boring to fight an enemy that never risks anything but still it's better than no fight.
Oh and many bigger guys like ASCN use this tactic repeatedly but I don't think anyone deserves to be slated for it.

If they cant afford the losses of decent ships. Atleast there trying. Hun were quite effective in thier T1 cruiser gangs tbh. 5 or so raxes can do a lot of dmg. Ppl shouldnt get hung up on omgiflytehubershipthanj00.
I personally would rather fight everyday in T1, than have to wait to afford T2. Id also prefer my enemies to try in T1, than nothing tbh. Not everyone has access to cheap hacs etc. If i payed market price for 25% of what i use,id be a lot more cautious with it.

I got the same mail, but you have to take it in context.
SNU is formed from a lot of corps that left COE primarily, and at least one from FA. Both groups are known notoriously for hugging POS bubbles and/or Empire (case in point, some of the campaigns SL had against COE).
You should be happy that they're actually coming out to fight in the first place.

But you cannot deny that the posted email is the reason why said alliances loose 9 times out of 10. Is it that 1 out of 10 victories is good enough. Tbh if I was in an alliance that had that attitude I'd leave and go join a Alliance who has alittle pride and always looking to make the game a more high risk exciting contest.
At the end of the day the post is merely an outburst of frustration by those who wish people to push themselves to the limits and not always play the safe card. Safe card = apathy and lowers the general fun of what is the greatest game in the world EvE!

True, but imho it sounds like an order to use t1. Ok, makes sense, if the corp pays for it. I get t1 fitted ships from my corp myself, but I still prefer to use a lot of t2 stuff and pay for that myself. If someone said to me: 'Come in a t1 frig !' My first answer would be: 'Lol, why ?' or something like that. Maybe they wanna check the discipline of their members.

its no shame to use t1 and it can be very effective, also many cant afford or use t2
however if i call an ally for help and he gives out an official order for his members to only use t1 ships and t1 fittings (even if they could afford t2), then you gotta ask yourself how commited that ally is

Well i tend to believe that but who knows, personally i dont trust 5.
Anyway even if it is true, PROPS to SNU et al for fighting, even if it was in tech 1 ships. I would rather go and have some pvp fun in a huge mass of Tech 1 ships than lose a Tech 2 ship and spend the next week trying to recuperate the cost.
Hmmm fight everyday in tech 1 ships , losing some, wininning some and able to get right back in it later that day when you do lose or fly tech 2 ship lose spend a week doing no PVP fun.
Hmm think i know what my choice is.
Also using spies in lame if it true, faking something (whihc i wouldnt doubt) is even dumber...just my 2isk.

There are many many justifiable and sound reasons to use Tech I.
Tech I gets the job done just the same, Frankly If a fleet of folk with TEch I and a fleet of folk with Tech II engage the winner would likely still triumph if the tech gradient were switched.

Your logic... is flawed. T2 cannot be interchanged with T1, its tech 2, its better...
A fleet of t2 ships can engage at 200+km, a fleet of t1 just simply cannot. T2 weapons and all the other t2 gear give commanders more tactical options and abilities. While there may be some pride in sticking with cheap inexpensive T1, and it can indeed be effective in the right hands and with numbers (its been proven by my comrades and many others before them), T2 is where its at to get the job done and hold the battlefield. In wars of repellling and invading holding the battlefield is whats important, T2 makes doing so that much easier imho. Now... I'll stop rabble rabble heh.

Funny how you run your mouth on the forums while exploiting complexes ingame. Oh well, CCP will catch you eventually and its buy-buy to all 20 of your acounts.

Funny how big mouth you are, when fighting newbie alliances, and claiming success. Funny, when newbies join ATUK, and first thing they do -> go to eve-o forums, and start to smacking other corps.
Ah. About complexes. Cry me a river

Hm, well, whether that number was 128, or just 1 - it's more than your girly alliance will ever hope to own, or have the balls to operate.
See you in the fi...er, never mind. No we won't.

Better to use them and lose them than pretend to have them and not use them like a certain NBSI alliance we all know.
Oh and it seems like .5. are shaping up to be far better allies than NBSI/PA have ever been. So run along now and get back in your rifter gang or whatever.

Tbh i have had a war with SNU and they may not be the best PVPers in the world but they try.....
The guy that sent that message has the right idea. Why should they fight and lose expensive stuff in blob warz is dont matter if u get targeted your dead, so cannon fodder is the miost intel way to do it.
Shame u busted your spy for this post. Burn Eden Vs Blue |

Yeah, you're probably the right guy to talk to about the use of uBer modules & PvP tactics.

yeah, sure...
Don't flatter yourself dude. Besides, almost every major killborad i've seen has a "positive kill ratio"...so, i wouldn't jack off on that for too long - it doesn't say much.

Edited by: Vishnej on 12/02/2006 19:09:20 I don't really see what's to be made fun of here. Taking 9 cruisers to kill a HAC is a gameplay decision - and can be very effective. Going out of your way not to lose expensive ships is another gameplay decision - which can also be very effective.
They happen to have a bigger people:isk ratio than atuk or even F-E do, and this is their tactic. Not everyone has played 10 accounts since Eve's inception. Just pop them and stop the smack, k?

So these people want to impose maximum damage with minimum loss? I wouldn't do it buts its a valid tactic.

Greetings..
I just wanted to say, that regardless of the use of T1 in that fight, the operation was a SUCCESS. Losses were had by both sides, nothing either side could not fully recover from in a matter of minutes.
Thank-you to everyone who was there for the fights!
SNU's stern policy is not to smack, and when you fight with us you will notice the silent local. An occasional "GF" is what you will get. We cannot ask all our enemies to show the same respect, but we will always uphold it.
The mail mentioned at the outset, was not an alliance mail, but an individual corporation mail. All losses in our PVP ops are covered for by the alliance, so we encourage our memebers to use whatever ship they are comfortable with.
Thanks! Sethon, Chairman Stella Nova United

Originally by: Myal Terego This wasnt that gatecamp we destroyed earlier today was it? And I will give SNU some credit, at least they fought us, better than i can say for RA.
It was a good fight, actually, and that's what we said in local. We didn't camp the gate btw, just ran into you passing by and took the opportunity to have a fight. And no, you didn't destroy us, be honest We did pretty good chasing out your first wave and retreated being outnumbered second time. So, it was fun, thx for the fight.

Originally by: Fred0 So they are on purpose gonna fly t1 ships fitted with t1 mods. Isn't that a legitimate choice to make? I know it's abit boring to fight an enemy that never risks anything but still it's better than no fight.
Oh and many bigger guys like ASCN use this tactic repeatedly but I don't think anyone deserves to be slated for it.
I have to agree with fred0 here, any fight is better than no fight. Would you not rather play with a frig / cruiser fitted with t1 than getting no fight at all? _______________________
