Good afternoon Capsuleers!
Today CCP Rise is here to shed a little more light on the Astero and Stratios, the two Sisters of EVE Ships that will be coming on November 19th with EVE Online: Rubicon.
Check out his new Dev Blog here for further details on the ships, their intended uses and links to their final attributes. |

As far as my limited research can tell. This system and the surrounding ones are owned by SOE and all their null stations are here. As far as i can tell they moved there before the goons did and long before these ships were planned /designed. I think you all need to remove any remaining tin foil from your craft. |

Availability in highsec means highsec mission runners will basically cap the price. Figure that cap will be around 900 isk/LP from the highsec offer. If the highest offer is 50% more expensive than the nullsec offer, that doubles the isk/LP from the nullsec offer, so you're looking at 1900-2k isk/LP tops.
By comparison, a Crystal implant gets you about 2900-3200 isk/LP, depending on which one you choose.
It'd be possible for someone heavily farming the nullsec agent to squeeze the highsec guys out of the market, of course, but if they do that they're throwing their own profit away by shrinking their isk/LP factor. They'd need to drive the highsec offer probably down below 500 isk/LP, and of course as soon as they raise prices to cash in, people in highsec can go straight back to farming.
All that adds up to is that this isn't the nullsec cash cow it appears to be. Now if they'd been set exclusive to Sanctuary, well, that would be another matter. I'm sure Dinsdale will be back around shortly to tell us all how CCP will remove the highsec agents in Rubicon 1.1, though. |

That is my thinking too. When i win it was skill an cunning. When someone else wins it was luck.
Would i also be right in thinking that no one moaning about this does mission in low or null anyway making all this rather moot? |

Yea, looking at numbers, it's unlikely that highsec one will ever manage to hold 2000 ISK/LP conversion
Sisters of EVE / Food Relief (Available in Highsec) Astero - 100.000 LP + 10.000.000 ISK --> 2.000 ISK Per LP suggests price on market at: 210.000.000 ISK Stratios - 300.000 LP + 20.000.000 ISK --> 2.000 ISK Per LP suggests price on market at: 620.000.000 ISK
Astero 1 run BPC - 30.000 LP + 15.000.000 ISK --> 2.000 ISK Per LP suggests price on market at: 75.000.000 ISK (add few million for mats) Stratios 1 run BPC - 120.000 LP + 30.000.000 ISK --> 2.000 ISK Per LP suggests price on market at: 270.000.000 ISK (add few million for mats)
The Sanctuary (Not available in Highsec) Astero - 100.000 LP + 10.000.000 ISK --> 2.000 ISK Per LP suggests price on market at: 165.000.000 ISK Stratios - 240.000 LP + 15.000.000 ISK --> 2.000 ISK Per LP suggests price on market at: 495.000.000 ISK
Astero 1 run BPC - 20.000 LP + 10.000.000 ISK --> 2.000 ISK Per LP suggests price on market at: 50.000.000 ISK (add few million for mats) Stratios 1 run BPC - 80.000 LP + 20.000.000 ISK --> 2.000 ISK Per LP suggests price on market at: 180.000.000 ISK (add few million for mats)
Again, I'm guessing nobody will buy the ship itself since you need like Indy I to build it, and its far cheaper, so we are looking at most at 75 mill for frigate and 270 mill per cruiser. Knowing that lots of ships already have about 600-700 ISK per LP cost, would not be wild to expect frigate to settle at 30-35 million and cruiser at 100-110 million ISK |

Does that mean if you purchase from SoE in Low or Null sec, the markup will be less than 50% high-sec markup?
And what does "price" mean? ISK, LP, items, some or all of the above?

Sisters launchers manage to hold 2k+ isk/LP despite being available in highsec.
I think the reason for that is that the sisters grind sucks, even in highsec. (Having recently gone through it myself). The level 2 and 3 agents have a strong tendency to send you to lowsec every few missions, and there are very few agents in highsec in general, so you're forced to either risk your ship (and those systems have certainly been camped), or constantly wait your four hour cooldown, until you get to level 4s and can safely return to Osmon.
Despite that, I agree in that the majority of LP will come from highsec, and will be the controlling factor in the supply/demand curve. It's just too easy to do 50% more missions in highsec. In general though, even with the changes, SOE will never compete with the Navy factions. Compared to the LP generated by Ichoriya mission runner and Caldari FW, for example, we can expect these to be truly "pirate" prices, and not the next navy drakes. |

well, for people with patience, the SOE arc grants an amazing sisters standing boost, and can be done fairly quickly in an assault frigate. One run-through is enough to put you from 0 to 3.5ish. It's repeatable every 3 months so everyone not a complete newbie can go re-run it for the standings boost.

Nice, I can afford a few of those. I almost have enough for a Sisters Omega implant, but it looks as though a couple of these ships might be able to fetch about the same amount of ISK for less LP. |

Sadly these ships fail at their intended goal. Drones are not as 'sustainable' over a long deployment as they used to be with the AI now. And the ships fail at being viable laser ships for the most part.
Meaning they don't actually fit the advertised roles. They will be great to use paired with something in low/null instead of a Cov Ops frigate if you have good scanning skills to make up that difference since they bring decent DPS to the table instead of just probes, but they aren't going to be a massive low/null solo combat site machine. |

This post sums it all up.
The only thing that is missing is that 0.0 mission running gets more LP per mission. Still with large numbers and easy mission running High sec players will be the ones controlling the price. |

Just remember that if you bookmark your wrecks and contract them to Pro Synergy, you get to make extra ISK while grinding for LP.
Lanngisi is pretty popular, just make sure you use dock and undock bookmarks. Osmon is a kick-out station, be especially sure to use dock and undock bookmarks. Apanake is pretty quiet. Both Lanngisi and Apanake are 0.5 systems, meaning you will generally get higher rewards from missions run there.

1) Highsec 50% markup
2) Iterating on the balance concepts of the Genosis. The ship stats look really good to me. I think these ships can deliver on what's promised.

That was my initial thoughts too since I am already trained up for Machs and Vinds. Most of my Amarr and laser based skills are still only at level 3 or 4. |

Its going to be worth a lot of money to whoever owns it. I'm sure Dinsdale will be back around shortly to tell us all how CCP will remove the highsec agents in Rubicon 1.1, though. e: Of course I could be wrong. Edit: Why do these ships cost three times as much as their blueprints? Will they require Tech 2 components and manufacturing skills to compensate?
funny.. I jsut did the whoel grind from zero up to lelve 4's and not a single time they asked me to go low sec. |

Though that constellation is in Pure Blind, surrounded in CFC sov, that NPC space and the Mordus Legion space not far from it are VERY active with people. Constant Black Frog runs keep the area alive and chaotic. The only way the CFC can change that is to hellcamp EVERYTHING for 24/7, and we're simply not interested in this! The guys coming out of the NPC space are usually quite fun to pew with and at. |

Well, perhaps the Lore should be reflected In Game, I'm seriously pissed off that SoE storylines (A supposedly neutral faction!) are ruining my caldari rep and at this point I'm not even bothering with them anymore. The agents shouldn't be giving out missions that directly attack an empire either but sit at osmon for a few missions and you're off to kill amarr.
After testing this ship out on sisi it has no more sustainability than any other drone wielding ship. Lasers on it though are a joke, seriously need to revert the optimal bonus back to a cap usage reduction, it's simply more efficient/effective to equip hybrid or projectile and save your cap for something important, like staying alive. |

They did not have to put in an entire new region so Caldari could even participate in Faction Warfare for nothing. |

No, they're not. If you grind up SOE standings, your Caldari and Amarr standings will tank. That's not neutral. They may be the closest to neutral, but they are still far from neutral.
Explain how a faction who dislikes the Amarr (evidenced by the missions they send you on to pop Amarr ships), and who is disliked by the Amarr (evidenced by the faction standing effects) would build a ship in collusion with the Amarr? It's completely bogus. The excuses of sustainability and long deployments is weak since it sucks with lasers and drones get chewed up and spit out by the NPCs. |

This really isn't true. I started grinding SOE lvl 4 missions 3 weeks ago and have accumulated 510,000 LP in that time and haven't hurt my Caldari/Amarr standings at all. I usually get an Amarr mission about every 5 or 6 missions offered and just decline it. If I get where I might have to decline a 2nd in 4 hours I just go to another agent until I can return later or the next day. |

Why do Goons get given a 50% discount for these ships? Really? Join GOOONSWARM or pay a 50% tariff to get to enjoy the new ships? No. Just no. 10% at most unless you fix agent distribution first.
As one of my friends put it "you can't access mordu's legion and ORE agents without going through goon space at one point, let alone SOE with this new stuff."
Seriously CCP, if you want to introduce new toys for everyone to play with, introduce them for *everyone*. Not just Goons.
Add in some mission agents for Sisters that don't have the 50% penalty in other under-used areas of nullsec. Go on, prove this game is actually about more than real money trading by using unfitted haulers to drop things in pre-planned pvp, from the super rich coalition that has nothing in-game to play for any more.
New content is great. But new content handed only to the richest of the rich is just insulting to the majority of the playerbase. |

Lasers are not a technology which is exclusive to Amarr, just heavily preferred.
Just like missiles, lasers can be developed and built by every faction in the game, same with the other weapon types. The reason it requires Amarr skills also lies in what the ship actually does and how similar it flies to other races' ships - Again, just because a ship requires an 'Amarr' skill doesn't mean it's built BY the Amarr, or even in cooperation. After all, Guristas ships all require Caldari skills, but Guristas and Caldari are mortal enemies...
If you really want to go that far you should introduce all new skills for pirate ships, like 'SOE frigate' or 'Angel battleship'. |

Nice flexiblity to different fits. BUT for any given fit they don't really do more than existing T2 ships except a huge number of drone options (salvage and combat). They should do well soloing their designed purpose: pure exploration sites without NPC rat defenders.
However although they have more combat power and way more ready replacement drones - these ship really aren't powerful enough for soloing any but the most basic exploration or combat sites. And I doubt they can handle ghost sites once triggered either from the sound of things. So CCP is overselling and overpricing what -- except for drone capacity -- are just another T2 class ship. But I guess if CCP is just aiming at rare collectables for the EVE OCD ship collector types then they are right on target.
I'll celebrate once CCP gets a clue and takes them out of LP stores or makes the LP stores cost no more than any other cruiser or frigate. |
