[151] No we got 3 new offices today so they're not all taken. As been stated once there the damage was done any which way, Evolution should have people killing the pilot as he enters the system in that case, she was right outside the station and saw how many pilots sat there on top of said station, killing someone then serves no purpose as the news can be sent via mail. Her believing Evolution being rampant playerkillers and them actually being so and on top of it encountering them didn't make it something set in stone before hand. It was a risk sure but people saying that we knew what we was in for by their comment confirms that Evolution are rampant playerkillers. Would you lose the entire war by actually trusting people who just happened to miss the beta? Would it mean the end of the world if some corporation proved to be *******s by slipping one by you and were included on the hitlist after the fact and not prior to doing anything based on assumptions? I'm getting creepy real world vibes here that's making me sick. Convert Stations |

There is an old addage about crossing bridges when they are directly in front of you, rather than trying to do so when they are not even clearly discernible. You may be right and order will never return to Venal. I don't think any of us claims to have the gift of foresight on this matter. However I will say this: While Evolution combat pilots are very skilled, they are not large enough to control two regions at once, full-time. At this time, FA does not control Venal--they are laying siege to Venal, and those are two entirely different things. Much different would be if FA tried to establish large resource-gathering expeditions in the region. If invaded by a formidable combat force, they would suffer the same vulnerabilities that VA suffered (tactically,) and especially so since their combat assets would be spread between two regions. If no one can exploit the resources of a region with non-combat spacecraft in a consistent and reasonably secure manner, that region is NOT under anyone's control. And that is the very definition of Venal, at the moment. Things have been easier in Venal for Evolution / Xanadu forces for a couple reasons: First, they have much more combat experience, skill, AND resolve than their primary enemy, TTI. The only forces within Venal that posed any real threat to FA forces were either too small to participate full-time, or were eventually eliminated after having some success. Many simply got frustrated with TTI's "circle-the-wagons" philosophy of regional defense, and began making preparations to go on the offensive in Fountain, rather than gathering in an ineffectual blob in Venal. It was VA's disunity that ultimately broke VA. Secondly: The mechanics of combat in the Eve universe are ridiculously slanted in favor of the guerrilla warrior. Do I, personally, employ those same tactics when I scout, hunt, or fight? Of course I do. I would be foolish not to. But that doesn't change the fact that if a combat pilot has skill and understanding of combat mechanics, he can make himself (or herself) virtually immune to the repercussions of being in hostile territory. One must assume that technologies designed to counter guerrilla warfare will evolve eventually, and it will not be quite so impossible for a force to defend territory and ferret out known hostiles. That will make the risk/reward ratio of mounting an invasion much higher than it is now, and change the complexion of combat considerably. And, to my way of thinking, this will make it much more difficult for invading forces to take over a region that is defended by large numbers. |

Politics and sensible roleplaying I'd say, hopefully a new trait I'll discover with these people. We're hoping that a somewhat mature dialogue will emerge as the corporations and informal ties grow older, people flaunting their beta badge put it to rest and stop referring to everyone which they do not recognize as, well enter derogatory dictionary section.
