Kinda had this thought for a while about what are all the beinfits of working for CCP? Personally I would love it because of the people, and of course the game/computers stuff I already love/work with.
What I want to know is what everyone else thinks are the best reasons to want to work for CCP.
What makes CCP unique and why?
Pics would be great too since I've yet to make it to a fanfest(too poor)

How about even better: Videos!
This is their old office though I guess. Most of these are before EVE was even released. Newer videos/pics of the new office would be much appreciated!

I would work at CCP because I love their work and ideas. As a programmer, because that's what im educated to do. But I would sure like give some ideas about game design at the same time. Hate when the game designers don't think the programmers can design games

Not many people get to work on something they really like. Not many people even have jobs that they get any enjoyment, satisfaction or fulfilment out of. Not many people get to be paid for doing something that they want to be doing. So, if you like Eve, and you like programming, design, art, or writing, etc then getting paid to work on it would be its own reward really.
There has to be downsides to it as well. Knowing exactly how stuff works, what's going to happen in terms of storyline development, or spending days trying to get some stubborn goddamn %$&*ing piece of code to work is bound to take the edge off actually enjoying the game. I guess you need a pretty thick skin at times - when everyone's *****ing here, or you log on with your player account and your unsuspecting corpmates are complaining about the lag or whatever, it has to be a little disheartening at times.

Not if you work in IS; I'm sure if you wanted to know whats going on you could, though if you wanted to be ignorant of the story lines you probably could be!
I'd absolutely love to work in CCP's IS department. My ultimate goal in life is to run a successful IS department for a MMOG. |

I can tell you that the time I've worked for CCP has been amazing. I started working for CCP 3 days before the big Shiva crunch. That means that I've been working here for ca. 1 1/2 year and it still doesn't feel like "work".
Its fun, flexible workhours and the spirit in the workplace is great.
Best workplace ever... even at patchday.

My drema job would be to get rid of all the macro's. Heck you wouldn't have to pay me, just let me do realyl evil and creative things. Evil GM powers that I could abuse. Start thinking of all the fun you could have with macro'rs, before you ban thier account.
-Spawn them on the orvolle gate in pf-346
-Crimmaly flag them, after anoucing in local that your doing it.
-Create a player corp, and move everyone you find into it. Make sure to give them roles.
-Spawn them some place in Jove space, make sure to remove thier clone first.
-Force them to eject from thier barge. Every 56 seconds.
-Move the ice belt in Jita off grid

I've got effectively three years of my degree left. A one year placement next year, the final year of the degree and the masters year. Here's to hoping CCP is still around churning out eve then. :/

I'm a programmer too, In real life - the crunch days are generally the best for me, I love when everyone gets into the thick of things, and stuff gets done
