Quote:One lesson we have learned through this event is that we should keep our actors out of fleets. Wrong, so very wrong. This was a fail of event because your actors did not lead the fleets in a strongly centralized manner. It was very chaotic and was doomed to fail. Two things you should've done: 1) Lead the fleets in a centralized manner with organized chain of command. If you don't have people to be FCs, you could use help of experienced players; 2) Don't make the Empires look powerless and stupid: you should've used imperial titans to bridge people right from highsec, and imperial capital (or at the very least - subcapital) fleet should've participated in the battles - maybe led by NPCs.
The call to arms in the news looked like there would be strong combined fleet of the empires + little help from capsuleers, but it turned out to be a completely capsuleer-based action, and made the empires look so miserable. The backstory part of this event in-game was very weak. OpenSUSE 12.2, wine 1.5 |

Marsan wrote:I actually think HS to NS/LS wormholes would have been best. You spawn a couple of wormholes to various secondary stage systems leading into the target or even the target system. The upside of the WH idea is the WH mass limits the number of ships passing through and will reduce TD. Just check TD in the system if it's reasonable spawn another wormhole to that system. If not spawn to another system. With a little fake out by the devs changing the name and graphic the wormholes can easily be disguised as jump bridges or titian bridges. Titan bridges and/or secret military gates would have been best - because most logical. OpenSUSE 12.2, wine 1.5 |

A little tasty piece of an offtopic. Seeing people suffering like "we're in US time zone, why we can't participate in events, it's unfair" - kind of pleases me. Sweet. You're not the centre of the world, it's nice that ccp reminds you about that (I'm loving it); don't behave like spoilt babies. OpenSUSE 12.2, wine 1.5 |

I'd like to make it clear that your actors weren't FCing on this event. Making a single 250-people-ish fleet and commanding something to it and only saying few words in chat channels to all others - is not FCing an event. There should've been an FC who would've coordinated the whole (2 thousand people? more?) crowd in a centralized way. And you should've rented a Teamspeak server (lol) for this mass of people, because eve voice is not reliable enough. OpenSUSE 12.2, wine 1.5 |
