Just got Podded in a 0.4 by some [insert smacktalk].
ok still a bit upset, but i'ts part of the game. I think every1 has tried to start some conversation with some of these guys, i don't mind getting podded although i need to dry my teers from the 5 implants i just lost now. But... what has been the most stupid "reason" or "excuse" they stated (not stating that they need one, but sometimes they do talk rubbish) ?

Here's my favorite, because no matter how much people whine about it, its still the number 1 reason for podding, and a perfectly valid one:
To get the victim out of local so he doesn't spend the next 30 minutes smacktalking you.

So they can be under 18 and still use the website, but have to have written permission from an adult to use it. Doesn't that mean that censoring threads is a bit.. I don't know.. counterproductive to having someone sign a permission form to join?

The only stupid here is you complaining about beeing killed. If you were prepared (in INSECURE 0.4 space) you wouldn't have died. Easy as that.

Not podding someone is like leaving half the pizza untouched. You don't finish the pizza if you're stuffed already (in Eve: Don't pod in case you need to maintain a non-outlaw sec status). Most of the time however, if you're ordering pizza (shooting people), you're hungry and you intend to finish your meal without leaving anything behind (not letting the pod get away).
Verone still has the best excuse for podding someone: "Ooops, guys..."

Good pirates tend to be generous about podding. If you whine and complain- they'll not hesitate, but if you take it like a man, things go better. I got caught unaware by a pirate and got podded. I told him good fight and asked what he used on his ship because it was a good setup. We talked for a bit, and he gave me some money to cover a new clone since I took it well. Some people need to be podded...

This is a repost from why pod? writen by yours truley with my feelings on the poding subject.
IMO As I see it poder do it for a few resones and these are my feelings on these resones.
1. War, A very just reason for slaughtering your enemies.
2. Ransome, Well this door swings both ways, I've met many people who have been poded after paying ransomes so if you want infamy, keep your word and hunt down those who don't, otherwise ransome paying will just stop, not that I condone piracy, but if they don't pay up or at least try to if they don't have that kind of money, by all means blast thier ship to scrap.
3. "Fun", These charicters do this because they believe they have been wronged in some way and instead of dealing with thier problems they choose to bully. Many say they do it for hate mail or to ruin someones day. Well if your charicter intetionaly seek joy through someone else suffering your charicter is a sadist, if your charicter sees them as objects and not people they're hurting claiming it's "only a game", thats sociopathy. So these charicters are not to be fear but pitied for being the Ted Bundys of EVE by playing sociopathic sadistic serial killers who colect peoples corpses.
In short, you want to be more than just a random killer and make a realy name for yourself. The pirates I respect and fear most are ones I will E-mail and convo. And it won't be hate mail. They're the ones with the skill and class to take a ship without destroying or poding them, telling them to dump thier cargo and pay ransome. I applaud you at your enginuity and skill. It doesn't take much to blow up someones ship, but to hold them hostage at gunpoint and be a realy pirate that is something to be respected. Others, well I don't even care if they pod me, I don't get mad, I just move on with my day realizing that this will upset them more than any hate mail ever could. Mind you if you are playing a sociopath or a sadist, cudos to you for playing it, but lets call a spade a spade and not sully real pirates names by lumping them in with these murdering psycos. |

Excuse me? It is just a game, really nothing more. I wouldn't go so far as to make assumptions based on what role a person plays in a virtual universe.
I pod, and pod all the time. I even get hatemails once in a while, and to be truthfull, they make me laugh. But I know that I am in no way a sadist, niether in game, nor out. I am however mature enough to be able to seperate real life from eve, and to be able to walk away from the computer, free of emotion, no matter what happens to my charactor.
Which is were the problem is, because I know a fair number of people actually get up set when something bad happens to thier charactor. Which will always strike me as wierd. How in the world can you get upset about something that occures in a fictional universe, acording to the rules and mechanics you agreed to play by when you logged in?
