The blinking light was one of the hallmarks of this ship. It is part of what really defined the hull and the design. It was like flying a little police frigate. Tons of fun in lowsec:

To be fair, I think the problem is less "The comet got screwed over", and more "Space camo looks like ass". The Navy ships SHOULD have unified skins. But space camo looks remarkably stupid. |

That's not ruling out a police-issue Mega, since we see those and other color patterns in the game already (Roden security, customs, those orange FW guards, and whatnot and that's just for Gallente.) |

Haven't been on Sisi, but if the Comet pics I've seen are representative, that camo looks awful. And if the blinking light has gone - THE WHOLE FRIGGIN' POINT OF GETTING A COMET - then ... well, I am disappoint.

Camouflage colours such as those don't make any sense. For space you would paint your ship black or have some nebula colours to it. Since we detect them with various scanners and overviews - camouflage doesn't make any sense.
I bet some "patriotic" American is behind this .. that or some guy that wanted to work on war games.

Seriously though, CCP's suck ass art director needs to be demoted. He's on some crazy rampage trying to remove every last bit of GOOD art in EVE, and make it either bland (a la every last thing to do with avatars) or make it look likeshit (a la new comet, the revenant, etc.) How does this guy even have his position in the company still?!!? |

... Paint schemes will not make you less vunerable in space. Space sensors are reliant on a numbe of other things aside from photons. The most telltale is thermics and mass. Both are which current technology of the space shuttle can be SPOTTED and LOCKED onto from beyond pluto.
Fast forward 400 years in space and paint schemes are even less senisble.
Chances are they are based on thier army uniforms. |
