With Amarr Cruiser 5 you get 50% to drone damage, HP and mining yield and a 25% boost to tracking disruptor effectiveness. It has a 4/4/4 module configuration and 75m3 drone bay. Strangely though, there are only 2 turret hardpoints and 1 missile bay allowed, leaving 4th hi slot for nos/neut/cloak? Sells cheap for around 3-4 M.
This ship seems to be waaayyy underused with amarr players using the maller instead. I have had a lot of success with it but I am curious as to other people's setups. Powergrid is tight even with high skills.
I pirate solo in it but I would appreciate all kinds of setups. Anyone try mining in it?
Hi- 2x Medium nosferatu 2x small guns, rapid firing (autocannons, blasters or pulse)
Med- 10MN afterburner II Tracking disruptor II 2x Warp Disruptor (20km)
Low- 800mm plate Medium armor repair II Reactor Control Energized Adaptive Membrane
Drones 1x Webby drone 5x mix of medium drones
I actually haven't tried this exact setup yet, so it might not fit. But in case it doesn't just assume change of the 800mm plate to a 400mm and switch the reactor control with another energized membrane.
Drones do most of damage (I am working on getting tech IIs) and hurt BAD. Nos helps break their tank and tracking disruptor helps, but not so much against missile boats. 2x warp disruptors so they dont get away! grrr. Tank isnt so great but if your opponent is weak u might make it. Sometimes I use a warpcore stab in case battle isn't going in my favor.

I've had quite a lot of success with the Arbitrator, but it was a long time ago.
Mostly my setup was like this.
High: 2xmed nos, 2xsmall pulse/beams (think it was beams). Med: MWD, scrambler and web. Can't rememebr the last slot, but think cap recharger, except once it was a Minmatarr racial jammer. Low: Armor plate 800, Armor repper, can't remember if it was small or medium.
Drones: A balanced distribution of damage types, medium size.
Right after the first drone nerf, when they introduced tracking, I manged to take down a Thorax before he got in range.. He had 7 (or so) hvy's and i had 13 med drones. Also managed to defeat 2 minnie AF's at once, but the racial jammer helped a lot. That it did again agenst a Rupture.

I think the OP was pointing out the relative cheapness, ISK-wise, of an Arbitrator over other cruisers.
Why the 2x 20km Warp Disruptors? Unless you are fighting more than one target... the 1 Scramb Strength of the disruptor is not going to stop a ship with a WCS, 2 of them wouldn't stop them either. I'd put some thing more useful in the extra mid slot rather than a 2nd 20km Scramb... With an actual webber to accompany the web drone, I bet you'd be able to nail some Inties with the Nos and small guns.
Honestly though, I think I'd rather go for the Vexor which fits more NOS and a 800mm plate. :)

no thanks to they guy who posted the vexor comment.
I said I solo pirate in it. Sometimes you will go long streaches of warping to belts without finding a target. When you do find one, from my experience you want to get them for sure. Most people only put one stab on, so 2x gets em solid. Its personal preference, sometimes I switch out for a webifier, sometimes I go MDW and a 7.5k meter scrambler.

You should NEVER be in a belt without a target. Play with the scanner until you get it down pat before you get serious about being a pirate.
Scan the belts from a planet, or even better, from a safespot near each planet, and then narrow it down from there.
Warping from belt to belt to belt searching for targets is a waste of time, and it will get your ship turned into a billion little shiplets.

I disagree because if you are in the belts there is a chance your target will warp in on you. I have had this happen to me several times. Plus, your target could be at a POS at a moon near your planet. Checking in the belts will confirm or refute that possibility. Plus, I never lose a ship to rats...just warp away quick.

Fact of the matter is that the capacitor completely sucks ass. Be sure not to pick on targets that will nos you, or even be sure to use mods that can be sustained for a while, in a 1vs1 with vexor pilot in my corp I ended up losing every single time. (The setups were pretty similar, although he had more guns) The capacitor is weak as hell, even with good skills. If you want to be the nos and drain guy I would serriously recomend the vexor.
