Personally, i'd say there was at most 3 seconds server lag on warp ins and warp outs for me when i warped into a 200 man gang fleet. Other than that, i could activate my modules with about 1 second lag and all went very smoothly, despite there being 23500 people online on the server alltogether at the time of the test. The only real lag was client side lag, and when zooming in on 200-300 people fleet, i got about 4-10 fps, depending on whether my effects and GUI was on or off, and if i were to zoom out i would get above 30 fps with ease. Also to note is, you need a hell of a lot of ram, as my itty bitty 512mb really wasn't enough. From 180mb usage by EvE when i log on it rose to 340mb in about 10 minutes, so to avoid client side lag, the easiest way to upgrade is get more ram.
Kudos to those who could make it in ASCN, was sure fun.
Note: I took quite a bit of footage from the event, and you'll see parts of it in my new vid, which will come out sometime soon i hope. ------------------------- Thou shalt be dispatched. |

Yeah, it's amazing seeing a massive fleet floating around something that big and not getting any lag for a change. I love the new clusters. I can't wait 'till we can test this baby in real combat.

Word was on the street that CCP put humongous Prime Arkonor boulders in a hidden belt of AZN and that CYVOK acquired a bookmark to it. Some of us were working our asses out stripping those boulders.

2: Multiple people from ASCN have told you what it really was, and even posted a screenshot with lots of snowballs on it.
3: I love people call this propaganda, when we didn't start it and basically find the whole thread amusing seeing as there are so many people ASSUMING there is a titan, without anyone from ASCN seriously saying that one even exists.

Think a lot of people will find this as their new problem. There was quite a few people who said lag for them was terrible where as others said there was none. Time for people to start upgrading their own hardware! |

Strange thing : i got a dual core athlon 4200+ and a GF 7800 and still i had trouble keeping up :/
I think its because i ha just updated my windows to sp1 (curse you bill!) and it made me lose a whole lot of performance everywhere on my pc from booting up to playing eve both in station and in space.
Ofcourse all the dual core patches require SP2 which will bleep my system up even more : don't you just hate it

Actually you don't loose any performance by using servicepacks. I tried and benched and it doesn't affect your framerate at all.
Performance for me was ok. 2.66ghz A64 and a 7800 GTX here. I had 2 clients running and both were fine. No amazing high frames when zoomed in but playable and above 20 FPS when zoomed out.

A few weeks ago we did a "rookie ship" competition in Goonfleet where everyone got in velators and ibises etc. and shot each other up, last man standing style.
Of course, that showed up on the map as 200 ship kills in the last hour or whatever, and we had reporters come into system, someone started a thread on the boards, etc. . .people are too quick to jump to conclusions.

My computer is still recovering from the strain. Most people who were complaining about lag can't distinguish from low frame rates and actual ping problems. Even with my frame rate hovering around 2fps I could tell that things were actually not that bad the lag is far improved over what it used to be. Now if only my computer would stop crashing when 200+ ships suddenly appear on my screen.

Scientists have found that the Titan doomsday device is a huge atom-smashing machine. the heat and light of the Titan doomsday device come from the nuclear reactions of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, and helium.

WTS a clue You would have thought that if we already had the first titan we would have shouted about it like we had with the first outpost...?
CYVOK asked ASCN to do a stress test on the new servers, mostly involving large amounts of ships and modules activated (in this case snowballs). We did a few fleet manouvers (one warping into another at a station, jumping between gates, jumping through a gate etc.) in order to give CCP some data, since they had full logging on AZN.
Nothing special, just doing something that hopefully will help find problems that will reduce lag in the future for everyone. ___

My poor computer wasn't able to keep up with all the polygons of the all the shiny battleships. So I crashed before the real testing went on, but from what I saw before things were pretty smooth, especially considering all the ships in system. And I was later told that the lag after the gate jump, while still in existance, was far less then what it used to be, namely, hit jump, grab a sandwich, watch a program on TV come back and the system will just now be loading. Ok I exaggerate, but I was told that it varied from 5 to 15 seconds on jump.

The main two places where it lagged for most people were when we jumped from one system to another (took me about 3-4 mins to jump in), and when the gang disbanded (not sure why, may have been client lag due to updating the screen icons). Other than that the jumping one fleet into another was good, only about 10-15 seconds of lag before we could activate modules.
Which means hope and pray you aren't primary in big fleet battles :) ___
