So I have been playing EVE since beta and never really did agent missions or any empire stuff, I pretty much went straight to 0.0 and made lots of ISK so I created this account and have been doing all the noob level 1 agent missions and getting my standing up.
I have been able to do all of them without losing even 10% of my shield, some I don't even get hit. I just warped into the Guristas base on the Worlds Collide mission (new Bloodline mission) and within 5 seconds I was at armour. 20 seconds pod.
I was flying a Kestrel with only a Civilian Booster, but like I said, all other level 1 agent missions have been so easy they are boring. WTF is up with this!?

Edited by: Corrisa on 03/03/2006 01:40:00 Second Kestrel destroyed...
The most ridiculous thing about the mission is the reward is much more crap (as is the LP) than other level 1's I have done.
I get 15LP and 15k ISK.

level 4 version:
290,000 isk, 72000 small tungsten charges bonus (40 minutes!?)
1204 LP. (i've seen level 3 agents out here give 3k)
Seems to be on a timer - the Serpentis fleet aggros you right away. 4 battleships, some cruisers, and 4 elite frigates. A few minutes in the Gurista fleet aggros for reasons unknown. More battleships and a missile spam that makes my computer bog down :|

try the merlin. I tried the kestrel after using the merlin for all previous lvl 1's and suffered much higher dmg on a variety of missions.

err i did this mission and i got the crew members from the heron but it only has 20 crew guys in there and you're supposed to get 30, so you cant complete this mission..
unless you need to use the jumpgate to the "Warzone" but the mission description says all the crew are in the damaged heron by the research outpost... (and it says objective complete when you scoop'em too) ------

Well in the end I lost 4 or so Kestrels but finished it :P
It's a shame its screwed for the higher level folk as well. The worse thing in the end was checking how much this really counted in the agent transactions (I think thats what it was) and it had the lowest per cent of any mission I had done lol.

There should really be a sticky with big bold writing for people who dont know....
New missions start off with basically crap payout/bonus/lp and modify themselves everytime a player completes/fails them. So keep loosing ships to it and in a week or two it will readjust to 500k .

Wow I did not know that. Why hasnt this been exploited? I mean you could get a whole corp to fly in shuttles and lose hundreds a day, would that not do what you just said?

Possibly, but i think its more to do with when you finally tell your agent that you cant complete the mission and you fail it, besides, going into the mission and losing shuttles all day ? havnt you got something better to do hehe , but feel freee to go ahead and help the whole misssion community get more lp per mission if you like

I did this mission no problem. If you use drones in it, everything in that room will aggro you, if you don't use drones, you can do it one group at a time easily.
Anyone who has done cosmos missions should recognize the heron as a spawn can. after it is emptied, more will appear in the can shortly.

This mission is supposed to give you a bit of a challenge at level 1. Also, you can avoid combat in the first two rooms since the gates are not locked.
About the level 4 version having too few crew members in the Heron, that will be fixed next patch. Until then you simply have to wait a few minutes until you discover more in the ruined ship.

That being said, there should have been a better reward for it to start with. Also, sure you can get to the next gate, but you are 40km away when you warp in. By the time you make it close you have at least 6 on you...
Oh well, if the reward was better I wouldn't be complaining because it was somewhat of a fun mission for the challenge it presented :)

Not to complain too much but could we get the fake gates in missions removed or made into real ones with bonus stages? Even if the bonus stages are uber hard with feck all reward, it'd be something for those that like a challenge and would preserve realism. At the very least, you could have them lead to nowhere and lock them with a key that doesn't exist rather than having them made into large collidable objects.
I've never been so disappointed as I was on Human Cattle part 5 of 5 after killing the fleet of amarr at the end and approaching the warp gate on that level, only to find that it wasn't a real warp gate but a large collidable object. I was expecting there to be another level, perhaps an extra hard level full of amarr navy. Something that might prove a challenge and a bit of fun. I was also disappointed to destroy the slaver pens and not find a single slave, freed slave, elite slave or anything for that matter. The officer buildings were similarly empty. I know it's not part of the mission and technically you're not supposed to blow them up and it's only a level 2 mission but surely there should be something there. Is it really game-breaking to throw in a few hundred slaves in total? Getting pretty much nothing for all that risk is a little disappointing.
The mission said to get as far into the complex as I could. I did that. I got to the last level like I was meant to, then I pushed further and had the potential to go to the next level, but it didn't exist. I thought maybe if I managed to get further in, I'd get another bonus reward from my agent like a crappy implant or something. It was a little weird to be asked to get as far as I can and get no bonus for doing more than the bare minimum.

The reward will become better soon, when the system figures out how long on average its taking people to finish it. It usually starts off pretty bad.

Actually I love the mission the way it is, respawning battleships, high bounty Battleships in abundance, took away 32mil in bounty alone from this mission today by doing both the gurista and serpentis sides, and took out the 1mil battleships in the first part 3 times.
dont change a thing unless you wanna give us more LP for making all this money.

Wonder how you are supposed to "avoid a fight" when you get out of the acceleration gate at point blank of 4 ships that look like Moas. My Kestrel was instantly jammed, then jammed some more, and I made it into warp with 19% armor left. This is beyond challenging for real newbie characters (and I suppose that's what lvl1 missions are for), and I wonder what ships the people were flying that say this was "easy"? It's frigate only, dunno if that includes elite frigates, or maybe the enemy ships are placed at random positions and it was just bad luck that they were sitting right next to the gate?

If you're fast enough, you can scoot past them. Fitting a good afterburner and a decent tank would probably help you get to teh gate before getting killed.

Heh yep, lost a Rifter to this one first time. Almost reached the second gate, apparently 1km off being constantly blasted by missiles.
Then tried it in a Burst with a medium shield booster and some cap boosters (just for fun you know, try to run through the second area to the second unlocked gate). Appeared in second zone... a dozen ships within 10km of me. Dead in moments.
As a new player (three or four days in) I've found this one amazingly difficult. Will leave it for now.

Edited by: Farwinter on 04/03/2006 02:04:11 Possibly. I talked to two of my fellow new players (who started at the same time as me). We weren't confident we could do it with 3 of us with our limited ships/skills/capabilities.. Just too much at once.
If a big/balanced group is intended then a warning "bring friends!" wouldn't go amiss. Don't forget we received this mission fairly early in and the jump from the previous ones, in terms of difficulty, was enormous.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time with this mission too, I can make it too the ship, but since I am under fire I can't open it's cargo to get the people out. I put something in my ship to make it go faster, but then it was time for a server reboot, hopefully I can do this mission now, if not, shoudl i try to group it?

In the LvL4 version the spawn that agresses you by the ship acts as a guard so they must be dealt with before you can retrieve the ships crew. I would assume it is the same on the lower difficulty levels.

I don't think copyright was around in the days of William Shakespeare (1564-1616) I think the point was the connection to the Lebanese pollitical group. Call your corp what you want as long as noone objects hell mine is named after a computer game and as pointed out elsewhere a special forces group mentioned in the film Lethal Weapon.

Just finished doing the L1 version of this in Mikhir - cleared out the first area, the Cartel zone, and the zone with the research station, but the server downtime cropped up mid-mission, after I'd found the ship crew but before going back to tackle the Sansha area, and after logging back in, the bookmark that was supposed to take me to the start of the mission ended up landing me in the middle of nowhere.
I adore this mission - it's such a refreshing change of pace from the other level 1 kill missions, with multiple routes and deadspace pockets. Do missions of this style become more common at the higher levels?

Where is there any fact that they are responsible for "killing wimen [sic] and children". I'm not here to argue semantics but using the same logic you have applied to the term "Band of Brothers" would my corporation name be alright if it was "Party of God"? There is no way you can tell me that violates any policies as this is a commonly used term. So what is the difference between using it in its English form, or its Arabic form?

On February 16, 1992 Abbas al-Musawi, Hezbollah's secretary was killed by a rocket launched by an Israeli helicopter. On March 17, 1992, the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires was car-bombed. Responsibility for the attack that killed 29 people was claimed by a group that identified itself as Islamic Jihad. The stated motive was retaliation for Israel's assassination of Abbas al-Musawi. On July 18, 1994 a Jewish community center in Argentina was bombed (AMIA Bombing) killing 85 people. A Lebanon-based group called "Partisans of God" claimed to be the author of the attack. The Argentinean government formally charged Imad Mughniyah as a suspect in both attacks, and in October 2005, Argentinean courts formally charged Hezbollah member Ibrahim ******* Berro with the attack. On July 19, 1994 a Panamanian flight was bombed in the (Alas Chiricanas bombing) leaving 21 people dead, incluing 12 Jews. The bombing was claimed by an unknown group called Ansar Allah. On July 26, 1994 eight days after the AMIA Bombing in Argentina, a car bomb exploded outside the Israeli embassy in London, injuring 14 people. Thirteen hours later a similar car bomb exploded outside a Jewish charity in North London.

I did this mission today in with my Gallente alt. Its by far the most intersting Level 1 mission I have done to date - it requires concession. I flew it with a Tristan and a drone. 1) you warp in, 2 gates. Kill all the NPCs for fun. 2) Either gate will lead you to the correct instance. You jump through either one. 3) You will enter a zone with a) a bunch of 'defenders' and Cruisers. You can't beat them (if your a weak alt like myself) but you can out run them. It the AB and go streight for the gate. Pay particular attention to not getting hung up on the gate. Use armor rep to keep yourself intact. b) A bunch of Vends will be there, there are too many. You have to fly 20km or so to get to the next gate - do not stop. . . fly through. 4) when you reach the correct instance which is made obvious by 1) The reaserch facility 2) the much weaker NPCs, 3) the Ship you are there to save is there (it has a loot can icon. . .in the overview). 5) Go easy in the begining, let your drone(s) do most of the work, make sure it does not pull aggro. Kill those that are aggroed to you while saving cap to make yourself 100% again. Kill off the NPCs - which is really really easy. Get the passangers. Warp out. Collect reward.

Here is the wommen and childern that they are responsible for murdering.
Are you seriously proposing to debate middle eastern politiics in this topic?

I tried this mission today for lvl 4 (DT stopped me from finishing it). I'm working for Caldari navy. First stage has 2 groups - serpentis and gurista. Upon entrance u're immediatelly atatacked by serpentis force, which you can probably take out without any major problems (4 BS,4cruiser,4 elite frigs - inties). You may or may not attack the second group, but upon approachin they attack you at approx 90 km. Much tougher group than the first, 3 1mio BSs (tough to destroy with cruise missiles) , and some cruisers. Upon completing those 2 spawns (note you dont have to destroy these 2 spawns, you may just go to the next gate but risk being pumped by both groups) I went for a check through the gurista gate: and it was a BOOM. I was thrown immediately next to a HUGE station (looked lovely though) which unfortunatelly cut off any of my warp routes (all celestial objects were immediatelly behind it). there were 4 spawns i believe, 1 of them attacked at once. (typing from memory: 4BS 1 mio each, and about 5 cruisers, all at around 300k each! tough to destroy) I went evasive, trying to get past the station, killing cruisers as i went. These guys were nut*****ers, they were breaking my tank all the time, and i was forced to warp out really really fast. (yea i managaed to get past the station a bit so that i had 1 clear path to an object)
Anyway DT cut me off from the rest of it. but i did some scans of immediate deadspace surroundings. I noticed that the serpentis way had a number of BSs and tonn of frigs n cruisers (gurista path on the other hand had only 1 frig in a standalone group in the 2nd stage) and serpentis force in the first stage was respawning - i went for a warp and came back and tehre was a new BS waiting for me :)
Interesting mission, will be cool to find out how to do it in 15 mins :)
I gather that all forces in the last stage must be destroyed in order to "open" the heron cargohold? Or could i jsut use an inty, warp into last stage like a nutter and make a mad dash to the crew?
Anyway, i was missing on some detailed workaround for this mission, so here you have at least part of it :)
See ya, T.

I suppose you could claim that "Band of Brothers" is a commonly used term, but thats BS and you and everyone in your alliance knows it. The name is synonymous with the mini-series of the same name and the phrase was used commonly after that point.
I'm not claiming that it wasn't used at all before, but the phrase was no where near common useage and was in fact popularized by the series.
Finally 'Corrisa' isn't "hating", she is just pointing out that both names come from RL and I suppose that Band of Brothers might be construed as copyright infringement because the name is from the popularized series where as "Hizboalla" is just a combination of two Arabic words (and it is if you search).
PS. I don't believe that using "Band of Brothers" is copyright infringement at all, in fact it falls right in line with Fair Use rights; but claiming that the inspiration for the name isn't from the mini-series is just farce. Don't try arguing with me about it either, you're just wasting your time.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

Just wanted to join the praise of this mission. I had been doing all these pointless, too easy, kill missions when I came across it... 5 minutes later in the middle of the mission my rifter was down to 50% hull! Runnig for warp with its trails between its boosters.
Thanks to this mission I really had to reconsider my tactics, something I'm sure will be useful! Splendid!
Keep up the good work CCP!

Hehe I'm loving the mission now. I've done it about 5 times now and a few times with a buddy of mine! I find (and I'm Caldari) that the non-Guristas one (I think they are Amarrish) is wayyy easier than the Guristas. Way fun for level 1 agents.
We need more like this :)

Great for a frigate duo (even though my skilled up tristan had no trouble soloing it but had to warp out when I agroed a second group and got webbed - that's what I get for not paying attention to where I'm orbitting towards at 890 m/s). I like it :)

you get 40 mill each time you go through both stages, all the ships respawn every 20 min or so so you can just keep looping :D you can farm like 300 mill a day out of this sucker :D

I did the level 1 mission of this last night in a Tristan. Amusingly it was so I could run a 'quickie' before retiring for the night. Frigates only! My Tristan was having a real tough time in the second area. Granted I could have scarpered through there and avoided the majority of conflict but there was no way I was going to miss out on the fun. I've got 1.6m skillpoints spread about every discipline (almost) and my Tristan was set up for assault so no tanking was going on making it pretty tough at times. I had to warp out at least 4 times and the 25k Blood ?---? was replenishing armour so quickly that I thought I wouldn't ever break him but down he went eventually.
This is a great mission IMO as you have the option to avoid the difficult parts completely. Also, this was the 1st mission I took from a Duvolle Labs agent and was offered 100k+ reward and 100k+ bonus so I guess some people had tested this one out before me ^_^
This would definitely be fun for a duo to take on.

Well, this is what happens when a terrorist group, responsible for killing women and children, killing brittish soldiers, bombing hotels and destroying livelyhoods and breaking UN rules get into power. This is how the stern gang got into power. As long as people choose to forget this, then other groups on the other side will copycat.
Like I said, leaders on both sides are terrorists. May the Amarr Crush them all!

From Photo Recon I can add this information for Level IV: Room 1
Serpentis Gate: 4 X Core Port Admiral (BS) 4 X Shadow Corelum Chief (Cruiser) 4 X Guardian Veteran (Frig)
Guristas Base: 3 X Dread Pith Exterminator (BS) 6 X Dread Pith Abolisher (Cruiser) 1 X Guristas Battery
The two gates are approx 100km CLOSER to you than the ships guarding them. _________________________________________________________________

"Actually I love the mission the way it is, respawning battleships, high bounty Battleships in abundance, took away 32mil in bounty alone from this mission today by doing both the gurista and serpentis sides, and took out the 1mil battleships in the first part 3 times."
... well, that's one way to get a mission nerfed. 32 mil in bounties? Sheesh... --;;

lvl1 Worlds Collide Angel Cartel / Guristas
Angel cartel side : Easy mode, it's simple to avoid the fire and go directly to the second room, but with a decent ship it's also quite doable to clear the first room as well, taking enemies by small groups. Almost too easy, apart from a few 7k+ frigates in the first room, the rest is all 3k-5k
Guristas side : Hardcore mode, once out of the first gate you got 10+ frigates in range locking on you, including many missile boats and jammers (all 10k+ bounties it seemed, though I didn't stay there long enough to comfirm), in the second I saw this I went to warp way, but the time my Kestrel actually warps away I was down to structure.
Note that with the same Kestrel I can tank all the drones of a drone infestation, or all the ships of an avenge a fallen comrade mission at once, and I mean waiting for them all to come in range and laugh as they can't break my shield.

They may be just words - but words that are associated with a real life organization are another matter.
Here in the US, "Democratic Party" is just a combination of two words. But it would be removed by CCP because those two words are the name of a large political organization - same as Hezbollah.

Did the Level-1 Worlds Collide yesterday... It's not hard at all for a missile Kestrel with a decent missile range.
I did not run through anything and instead killed all rats at each stage. The technique is very simple -- kite.
As soon as you jump into the next pocket, immediatly afterburn away from all rats. Some will lock on you and begin chasing you. That's fine -- tweak your speed to keep them at the edge of your missile envelope (25 km in my case) and just run and methodically pound them into space dust with missiles. Some rats will MWD into close range, so kill them first as soon as they do this. You should take little to no damage.
In the first pocket there were two bunches of rats -- Guristas and Angels. They aggro separately. I killed both, went through the Gurista gate, and landed in a pocket with about three rat bunches out of which one immediately locked and started chasing me. Run and kill. Rinse and repeat.
The final pocket has much weaker rats. You sneeze at them and they die :-)
My Kestrel had 3 standard missile launchers in highs (all with Bloodclaws), an AB, a shield booster, and a shield extender in mids, and an RCU in lows. One high and one low slots are empty -- I'm out of both CPU and powergrid at the moment :-)

Did that missions with my nubbin alt and almost got wtfpwned at the 2nd stage, after 2 attempts (almost losing my nubs merlin) i dragged in my main char in a manti and finished it.
For a L1 and the fact u can't take anything bigger then a frig this is one nasty mission

On worlds collide level 4 I had a bit of a shock.
I cleared the first stage fine, one of the battleships respawned and that was the first suprise but a welcome one as the bounties where good and they dropped a few cans.
The Sanshas gate seemed a better option as I found them a lot easyer so I chose that path. Warped in.... ...warped out with 11pct structure. I had killed three frigates before my shield died =( In my raven I can rep 400 shield a cycle and it couldnt keep up with the damage I was getting even when 80 pct hardened.
So I came back in the first room and camped the battleships for another 10 million isk before telling my agent to shove it.

Did the Guristas side tonight with relative ease.
Myself in a Raven, friend in another Raven and another friend in a Dominix
3 x XT-9000 Cruise Launchers 2 x ZW-4100 Torpedo Launchers 3 x Medium S95a Shield Transporters
1 x Tech 2 Large Shield Booster 2 x Tech 2 Ballistic Shield Hardeners 1 x Tech 2 Heat Shield Hardener 2 x Cap Recharger I's
5 x Tech 2 Power Diagnostic Systems
I warp in after the Raven, target him and stick 2 shield transporters on him, so he doesn't have to use his shield booster, my cap holds at 50%
He has 3 torps and 3 cruises, domi has 350mm rails, basically we tag the ships in each group, the raven aggroes and we kill everything :)
The only trouble we encountered were the Heavy Assault Cruisers which took a lot to kill - other than that we breezed through the mission.

I didn't realise one of the gates was easier, good to know! Although one person says Angel is easier, the other Gurista hm. Anyway, took a couple of (equally new) friends along (so breacher, rifter, slasher) to do this and we didn't have a problem.

I did the Serpentis, Guristas version of this mission with a suicidal corp mate and it was good fun but almost had to warp out and that is with two high sp characters and expensive Ravens. I think it could be soloed but as we aggroed everything on each lvl was hard to tell. So anyone done it solo?

Edited by: Ordep on 10/03/2006 12:13:50 I tried to do it solo. The 1 level is ok, killed the serpentis cause they insta agroed, and then the guristas. As i was setup to tank better the guristas i tryed the 2 level of this INSANE mission. Entering lvl2 i see the odds, and try to direct my ship way for some distance, cause you warp right in the middle off the crowd. I get insta agro. As the gates are not closed, i tryed and aproach the gate while tanking the 1 group of guristas that agroed ( 3 BS, cruisers and frigs ). As i aproach the gate ( 10km away ) i get agroed by the 2 group and try to get the hell outta there.
WTF warp scrambled.... raven lost, T2 siege launcher lost. T2 gear all the way in my setup.
I don¦t use WCS in missions nor in pvp and its insane in a 0.7 system to have scrambling frigates that takes all load of missiles to die ( ex. to kill a frig i need 6x 20 torpedos).
This mission is screwed...
1. to much for a solo player to tank and deal damage. 2. Deadspace rats insta lock you, so no gaining some safe distance for you 3. scrambling frigates that takes a loadout of torpedos to die, each 4. the tip that agent gives about unlocked gates is no good. If u try to aproach the gate in 2 level u get agro from ALL npc¦s in there and u can¦t even reach half away with a t2 100AB
Believe me...this one is REALLY screwed.
lost a 200Mill raven for a lousy reward

Only prob i had with this mission is it took long to complete, but it was a fun mission to do and a nice way to get some isk (lot of BS's and they respawn)
BTW in the second lvl i did not go for the gate but aligned to a point away from the spawns that didn't agro instantly. Killed the spawn that did agro and agro'd the next group. Frigs i kill with my T2 drones, 125mm guns and cruise missiles (4 cruise/2siege fitted)

I really enjoyed this mission, it was the first time I faced a real challenge since starting EVE. I saw the notes indicating it was frigate only, but thought I'd give it a shot as I'd just been given a free Atron by my agent.... but... what the hell!! Non combat option? I think I chose the wrong gate for as soon as I jumped on the first gate, I was set upon by a fair few frigates. Every time I tried running to the second gate I ended up warping out as I was taking too much damage.
In the end, I lost two atrons and a Tristan before I went back with a destroyer. The funny thing was, if I tried to run, although I got closer to the second gate, I still had to bug out. In the end I took out the ships in the second room in as smaller groups as possible (ignoring the nastiest Blood Reaver as his armour tanking was better than my damage output).
When I got to the Heron, I nearly ****ed myself whe nI saw all the enemy ships, but oddly they barely dented my ship and I took them out easily. I picked up the crew, got my nice 275k and went to bed at 0210 hours

Actually the mission is brilliant, it is exactly how lvl 4's should be - it should be done in a group! You should know that it doesn't matter on the security status of the system, most lvl4's have a chance of having warp scrambling frigates, it is a risk whether to use WCS or not.
As for your torpedos not killing a frigate in one, well I'm gobsmacked, what do you expect? you can't have a single missile doing hundreds of damage to every sized ship! If you wanted to kill them you should have fitted a couple of small guns or have a friend nearby, as well as unleashing your drones as a last resort to try and get you clear in time before your tank ran out.
Finally as you say yourself, for people who don't have HAC's or multiple million ISK Navy issued ships there is slightly too much damage done, which is what LVL4s are about. Teamwork!
Also read above, you get multiple tens of millions of ISK from the bounties, I am quite surprised at your post, being from Evolution and BOB.
Anyway from now on, just go into each lvl 4 thinking you may be warp scrambled, try and figure out which interceptoras there might be in said mission and fit accordingly for example gallente interceptors (Gamma and Delta II's plus soldiers) orbit at less than 5km so smart bombs easily take them out. For guristas they don't orbit so close, but 125mm / 150mm railguns and a webifier makes short work of them, if you need to scope out the misison, just pop in a shiuttle and fly in, will also show you what aggroes as well, you'll have your shuttle destroyed but then they aren't very expensive.
Also you would only have been insta aggroed by one group in the second stage which is easy to tank, you should have dealt with them first - running for the gate lost your ship. Groups of NPCs in mission have 2 main ways of aggroing - they either aggro from the fact you are firing on them, or they have proximity aggroes, where in you get within a certain distance you will be aggroed (alos there are times they seem to aggro at random but for the main part its the two ways mentioned)
I am very sorry you lost your ship - it was insured right? But you cannot blame the mission, the fact you tried to do it alone and that your actions actively led to the loss of your ship.

I dunno, my Raven setup as above was tanking my friends Raven easily, he didn't have to use his shield booster at all except during the initial aggro of the Guristas while he waited for me to pop in, and my setup is worth at maximum 50 million, and my friends about 60 million.
We did have a dominix in tow with 4 large 350mm railguns but at the end of the day, two Ravens, one wth a shield transporter on the other is easy.
(BTW I have lvl 5 in all engineering skills, inc. the shield transporter skill and some hardwires to reduce cap use of them)

Ah you did the sensible thing and fitted shield transporters. I fitted nos only to find the battleships stay out of nos range
Reason it was hard for us was because we aggroed everything at once and a T2 setup would have popped because it would have capped out. Live and learn eh.

Tried the mission again today (level 4 version in caldari space)
Stage 1 was a walk in the park, seems a stealth nerf happened as only cruisers and frigs now respawn
Stage 2 as last time I tried the Serp side and warped out on fire I tried the Guristas side.
I got a little better off but Alas! my Faction modded Raven didnt last
300 million in mods lost not counting the actual raven.
anyway, just a small heads up on this mission, its tougher than most level 4s. I would discribe it as an extraviganza on *****.
Providing CCP doesnt listen to the whiners and nerf it hard I look forward to attempting it again with either higher skills or decent backup.
I still love this mission even though Ive never succeeded, EVE missions need to have the odd challange.

Actually i read somewhere that no matter the mission lvl, in systems above 0.5 there will be NO scrambling ships. To prove this i petitioned a lvl4 mission ( can¦t recall the name but its 5/5 mission ) where a lost a raven and got it back.

I don¦t ride a BS to fit small guns. For that i use frigates or cruisers. Not even the drones could kill a frig that fast as i was being spawned by heavy missiles and torpedos. And SOLO means alone. Not as 4 guy team doing the mission. What if i want to play alone ? Am i not permited to play the game solo cause lvl4 are for teams ? WTF

Also read above, you get multiple tens of millions of ISK from the bounties, I am quite surprised at your post, being from Evolution and BOB.
So ? your point ? What Evolution and BoB got to do with it ? Maybe thats why i¦m in Evolution, cause i do or at least try to do alone a 3-4 man job as you said.

Anyway from now on, just go into each lvl 4 thinking you may be warp scrambled
And waste 1-2 low slots for that ? No Sir.

try and figure out which interceptoras there might be in said mission and fit accordingly for example gallente interceptors (Gamma and Delta II's plus soldiers) orbit at less than 5km so smart bombs easily take them out. For guristas they don't orbit so close, but 125mm / 150mm railguns and a webifier makes short work of them
I don¦t have a BS or HAC with that many Hi slots.

Don¦t be. I¦m not. Accordingly to the [GM]¦s, at least before last patch, i can blame the mission. As stated before "...no matter the mission lvl, in systems above 0.5 there will be NO scrambling ships"

Warp scramblers are allowed in 0.5+ space, you just generally won't see them in low level missions (1 -> 2). If you do, it's a very very rare case.

I has doing a lvl4 mission, a 1/5 missions story, Enemies Abound (1 of 5). The problem is, i was fighting against Gallente navy. The mission briefing itself is not very clear on what you should do, and when you enter on the deadspace you get imediatly scrambled and shoot. Now, i think i read somewhere that missions in systems higher then 0.5 you don¦t get scrambled...besides the mission briefing is not at all clear of the mission objective and as soon as you enter 1 deadspace level u get scrambled by 2-3 frigates."

Our apologies for the late reply. As we were able to verify that your ship was lost due to abnormal circumstances, we will be replacing your loss. Before we can do that however, we will have to withdraw the insurance payment that you receive for your Raven. Please reply and let us know when you have at least 43,500,000 isk in your wallet. Thank you.

Where did you read that i wanted a sigle missile to kill a frig ? If you re-read my post you will find i fired 6x 20 torpedos = 120 torpedos. Not 1 torpedo
That's what VaderDSL is telling you, you are trying to kill frigs/cruisers/BS's with 1 type of weapon. Torps work for BS's and cruisers, but frigs take hardly damage as long as they are not MWD'ing.

You can solo this mission in a Raven T2 fitted (don't expect it to be easy), so you might need to change your strategy/set-up, and i don't mean to fit WCS, just fit a very good tank and make sure you can kill those little frigs quickly while still being able to do enough damage for the BS's

It is possible that you didn't get your ship replaced due to the existence of scramblers in your mission, but posibly for a bug in the way the stage aggroed you? How did youi lose your ship? It shouldnt be possible to lose your T2 fitted ship from one group in that mission. If however the entire stage aggroed you then that was a bug and you may have had grounds (and did have grounds) for a replacement, did you release drones?
Also, as explained earlier I did in fact mean you can't expect a type of missile to kill everything, doesn't matter how many torpedos you fire, you can't expect a battleship class weapon to help you out against small, fast frigates also I didn't mean anything by bringing in Evolution & BOB just I've always held them pretty much as infallible

Well i solo this mission for the 4th time (from 4 differents agents) now and i think its really the BEST lvl 4 mission i ever did. Bounty is very nice and the loot is better than the everage lvl 4 mission .. except, maybe, Infiltrated Outpost.. I use a raven with this setup to do both gate in loop: 6 arbalest siege 1 heavy dimin nos 1 tractor beam (yeah right! loot is so worthy and i don't have time to run after can )
2 faction inv field 1 kin hard tech2 1 cap recharger tech2 1 faction xlarge SB 1 ab tech2
4 pdu tech2 1 bcu tech2
I know my setup is an expensive one but hey, i think doing mission run is the best way to do isk in EVE (from my experience) and its worthy to spend big ISK on those faction mod to be able to make more ISK more quickly (i'm tempted to mention thoses nasty pirates going crazy about making 50+millions a day). i made my first billion 2 months ago doing solo lvl4 mission and im kinda new at EVE so .. make your own conclusion.
From thoses Worlds collide i got this worthy mention loot:
2 arbalest siege 1 arbalest cruise 2 limo siege 2 limo cruise 2 prototype 150mm 1 local Hull cargo 1 local Hull nano 16 350mm rail 3 425mm rail 8 xlarge SB
Those alone will give me about 100m and the missions another 100+million ... not bad for a 2-3 days works (i play EVE bout 5 hours days). to conclude this post i want to say to all missions runners: piled your ISK and buy faction stuff. The most priced top mod will make you run lvl4 solo and easy...

This mission is ridiculously cruel at level 1. I ended up with it on a character less than a day old! Now really what chance do I have of getting through it? Ganging up really isn't feasible either.

This is incorrect. Level 4s are meant to be done solo. This has been discussed time and time again, and I have posted Zrakor's quote so many times that I am not going to bother again.
Level 4s are meant to be done for the skilled solo Battleship pilot.
As for scrambling, webbing frigates? Hobgoblin IIs.

Technically you're right :) but lvl 4's in groups are much more fun and safer. I could fly most lvl 4's solo and be fine, I don't because it gets repetitive and is boring, I personally think lvl4's are better in groups (but then I'm flying with long term friends)

The worst thing is when you dont want to do it, decline it, and the agent offers it AGAIN.
CCP needs to hire better mission agents, make it so only persons with a POSITIVE intelligence attribute can be a mission agent.

Sadly the mission generator is most unkind. Keep that in mind as you move up to level 2's and 3's. And 4's...

A slight hijack :).
Yes, I'd love to be able to select from a small number of missions - the first time I got an agent up near 200k (about 198k iirc), she offered me Angel Ex...then Angel Ex...then Angel Ex...again and again and again. This literally went on for days.
For the literal minded folks...yes, I can do the mission in a group...but no, I didn't want to.

Redid it just now. You're right about the "easy mode" and "hard mode".
Easy Mode = Cartel Gate Hard Mode = The other one (was Sansha in my case)
Hard Mode dropped me (in a well kitted rifter) to hull in the space of 10 seconds after warping in. Ouch.

The problem is that different people define skilled in different ways. I can solo this mission (barely) by applying the correct tactics. The problem with running missions in empire is that they do not vary much and are, for the most part, very trivial.
Worse, is that any time they make a mission that involves more than warp in and kill groups of enemies one a time without having to move except for range, people complain and they dumb it down.
A spread of missions with a spread of difficulties, requiring a spread of tactics would be nice. Unfortunately the current missions system does not really handle identifying this to the mission runner very well.
I really like worlds collide and I hope they keep it as is. It is actually reasonably challenging both for my group and solo. I wish there were more missions like this. However I also believe they should be randomized better and there should be a difficultly indicator associated with the mission (Other than LP/Reward).
Also ... I wish my agent would cycle them over and over for me! Damn agent

I can do the level 4 version via the Guristas route with ease in a Raven, and a Scorp in logistic support.
My one question would be does anyone know what the Guristas War Installation drops? I got as far as destroying the thing 7 seconds before downtime kicked in ..... no time to check the loot :-/

That is a nice advice but worthless in some situations.
I had the same fate as Ordep. If all three Gurista groups aggro you in the second stage of the lvl. 4 then your client is so lagged due to the absurd amount of missiles hitting you and ships firing at you, that you have no chance to target the scrambling frigate.

Edited by: blacknight9 on 19/03/2006 09:50:14 I have done it with a Kessler loaded with 3 malkuth launchers (bloodclaw missiles), a shield booster and a nanofiber.
Just take the easy first part (the one with Angel Cartel or something), and then when u enter in the second part just go as far as u can from all 3 gangs of NPCs, and the ones from the acceleration gate will follow. Pick them one by one and you're done. Before the other 2 gangs join to "burn you", u will be in 3rd part of the story.
I forgot to mention that i've done it in level 1 world collide and by merely playing by 2 weeks. So it can be done. Truth is i died a few times before i get it right

Edited by: Traxman on 19/03/2006 12:14:39 Wrong thread to post this in, but why not make a blob where we demand lvl5 agents that give out missions like this as a 'standard' so we that like running lvl4 is fun with others. I dont mind getting more of this kind of missions but they should be that kind of hard that its just impossible to make it alone and it should give more rewards due to the gang split of bounties.
I look forward to that day we get missions where we can enjoy killing npc dreads |
