New Bloodlines, why?

It does to me, 4 main bloodlines from which we have the races we know today, yet all 4 have mysteriously discovered some long lost relatives who all happen to look chinese, could this have anything to do with CCP's attempts to attract the lucrative chinese/asian market? And if so, why add them to this server when they plan to give the chinese a shard of their own? For me this patch seems like a total waste of time and resources, which as usual has resulted in lost game time for all. I know patch day is never stable, but don't say the server is gonna be up in 4 hours when in reality it's gonna take 3 times that and then still not be stable. And lastly, please please please get rid of this stupid traffic congestion thing, what next, congestion charge to pass through heavily populated systems? I'm just so glad I didn't pay out for another account. there ya go, my 2 cents worth, flame away :P

Hint Hint Hint!! More bloodlines is always fun. I do think they went overboard with all the bew races being Asian but thats there perogative. More bloodlines means more variety in the Characters within eve. I expect more to come eventually so be patient.

Because once they have been developed, they might as well deploy them here, too. People like variety. If you had actually read the patch notes, you would know that it includes quite a few things beside the new bloodlines. Are a few hours (gasp!) of lost game time really such a steep price to pay for all that? Be thankful for the free, new content, and stop complaining.

CCP developed the new bloodlines so Asian players on the upcoming Chinese shard would not feel discriminated against - but I have long felt that many Chinese players will probably go for Caucasian-looking characters, anyway! One of the enjoyable aspects of an RPG is that you can be someone else - maybe similar to your real self, or maybe totally different. Axctually, I find most people favour difference over similarity. I'm Cuacasian, yet I really like playing this Asian-looking Khanid. For many reasons, one being the interesting RPG background of the Khanid Kingdom, but also because of the exotic look. Similarly, I feel that many Asian players will go for the "exotic look" of a Caucasian character. As well as that, we shouldn't over-estimate the importance of portraits. The fact is that most players are power-gamers who are not primarily interested in looks, let alone RPG background, but in attributes. For the majority, here as well as on the Asian servers, this will probably remain the most important aspect of character creation.

Besides your name it's the only thing that you can customise and present to the world. It's (literaly) the face you present to the other players. In all the others MMOs you can visually customise your character in a number of ways and further with all the cool items and gadgets you acquire from your adventure. Ask the wast majority of players in WoW and they'll tell you.. looking good is at least as important as stats. ------------------------ I don't believe in sigs.
