I'm a trader and fell not only once for gatecampers... but nevertheless from a point of gamersview it's just patchwork play. I go along with others that removing is not the right way, the gateganking would rise to absolutely horrible levels. But on the other hand, keeping it, cannot be the way either. I can't believe that you guys are serious if you state that you think the situation is ok as it is. As long as it protects your ass it is ok ? It is not more than a workaround till ccp comes up with other balancing ideas so don't protect this situation. It's not more than a patchwork of ungored solutions, because right now as it is, it means every1 without bookmarks is toast, ever1 with bookmarks is almost invulnerable, thus the first group paying the price for the second. not to mention the lag the whole BM scene creates. Before you post any arguments and ideas consider wether the situation is ok or not. From a gamer's and programmers view, it seriously can't, i'm sorry it just can't, this whole bm thing smells so much like Betatesting workaround till found a better solution. Maybe rework the whole traffic system, or give pirates the ability to follow other ships in warp and slowing them down there so they keep being longer in warp so moving the PVP to the traveling lanes and not anymore to the gates. As a solution i believe there is not yet a good way to solve the situation at the moment while talking of ships approaching gates. Maybe try to think further and take the other side of gates into account, what can you do when ships come OUT of the gates to make it interesting... or even the warp as i stated above. For instance make people come out next to a gate where they can instantly warp back if they want, but if they decide to warp to the next gate they have to leave the 15km safetyarea of the gate first before they can align to any warp. Advantage of this idea would be that you could make precision warps available again without taking traders / pirates any advantages. Although the stealth systems needs to be reworked and be better accessible to pirates i think.
Or just as another solution, make the autopilot warn much more precise from former gatekills/pods so pirates are forced to move from one spot to another to gank others... hmm it's a very sensitive topic tho
