I'm new to the pirate scene and had some failed encounters with other players, then finaly I came across a costumer that I got into structure and was about to demand ransom when he warps off..
In my exitement I had forgotten to scram his ship, for the first time

1. Lost a Vampadom to another Dom with blasters... I could have attacked him outside his blaster range and won.. But for some reason still unknown to me, I used approach :(
2. Lost a Raven to a blasterthron. Warped in at 15, with the wrong type of torps for him, no scrambler, knowing that he was an extremely good Mega pilot (damn you Farjung) and decided to engage him anyway.
But as long as you learn from the mistakes you make, they aren't that bad..... Right? :)

hehe i remember one time i was going to meet up with a corpie to have a little fight coz he wanted to test out his new blasterax and i was in a raven now he was 16 jumps away from me and i happily go to meet him sso i set destination wit went up to like 40 jumps opend up map set to shortest route (theres the problem) so now im 2 jumps away from my mate in a sensor dampening blackbird (feels a few flames coming on) and what do i see at a gate? a guy in a raven he locks i go to switch on my ab oh ***t i forgot to put a ab on so i just try and get to the gate now my armor tank is actuly doing quite well ive tanked maybe 2/3 volleys in it im nearly there i am just 2588 metres from the gate im gunna make it im gunna make IT! BANG hello mr pod how are you today and i still continue to go to the gate. YES im in range sweet! click on jump and it wonnt work something about not having room for the doughnuts:( im think areeee fudge bye bye implants guy on raven has a lock on me Bam 1 cruise hits my pod by now im treating my mouse left button like it was my happy stick and i just make it out with my pod at something like 20% hull i think his name was earl falconcrest and it wasnt untill about 2 days later all i had to do was activate my remote sensor damps and he wouldnt have been able to do anything

I'm pretty bad... well, more stupid then bad...
Close range Vagabond (me) vs. an all-nos Ishtar (the guy who won  ) (in an agreed upon 1v1, nonetheless).
Or my habit of undocking when station camped. After 30 minutes or so I get bored and reckless, would rather lose a ship then look at the inside of the station some more.
Sure I'll kill a few bad guys, but the other 10 finish me off  .
But hey, I play this game to fight, not to be rich.
In short: Cry me a river, build a bridge, and get over it.

Was fighting a Rax once in my Arbi. Got to half armour and turned on my rep. Couple of seconds later i'm into structure and the rax seems to have activated an uber tank as i can't hurt it at all.
Then i realised that i had turned on my remote repper not my armour rep coz they have the same icons and i sat them next to each other.
Can only imagine the other guy's reaction: "WTF? Sportmanship?"

Wouldnt say im the worst ever, but currently i stand at 0/2 after 6 months (still aint been podded yet  )
Only ships ive lost are a gall shuttle and a itty 2, nothing to expensive.
Im no carebear either, ive been in low sec for the last 3 months. I dont go looking to die though heh

My vote would have to go to Griff1972 from Four Horsemen corp(Big Blue).
He has racked up 9 BS losses to UDIE alone in the last month or so. Most of which were in the process of fighting us not ganks.

Once in 0.0 op we were chasing off NPC'er raven with his hauler alt and I warped to planet X and found it was empty. Due some reason unknown, I stayed there for like 30sec and only to find out that Mr. NPC'er along with his hauler alt jumped 100km away of me! I started approaching them in my inty and was sure that they will warp away but no. I locked raven and then hauler BUT something inside my head said that "scramble indy, scramble!" ... well at least we got that indy full of .. torpedos (and pod)
I misheard orders in TS and jumped middle of 20 people gank blob in my little rifter.

Me in empire war in 1.0 (!) in a gang with different corps a few months ago. I was totally overmotivated in my brand new ten-minute old stiletto. ( Had lost another new stiletto in the same hour, so I needed a new one. )
So something like that happened:
Gang leader from another corp: 'There is a war target, a stabber, try to get him !!!' ... 'Damn it, he escaped !!'
Me: 'Haha, cool, there is another enemy, a rifter lets kill this one.'
I approach, tackle, sentries and/or concorde fires, I think 'Oh oh ?', I die. Then I noticed that 1.0 is not 0.0 and -10 standing doesn't mean war target.
The guy in the rifter in local: 'Don't you think that was a bit stupid ?'
... and my gang leader collects my can, me waiting on a station for the concorde timer, thinking about, what I had done.

I shot a shuttle by a gate in .2 the other day without thinking about it. The sentry guns shredded my frig, so i flew back to the station grabbed a new ship. Sadly completely i forgot about the cooldown and got shredded a second sime by the station sentry guns. Great. I docked and minced about in the station for a bit until my timer expired. Left the station and Oops! I was bugged and got shredded. again.
I went down to the pub for a bit after that.
no skills, just luck.

Probably me when i used to be fourfingers frankie (and probably to a lesser extent now). I remember getting war decked by some pirates when i had my carebear corp, and i think i must have lost about 10 - 15 ravens in a week, i mean i just got raped. I remember leading (HAH!) two ravens and another bs against 1 apoc. He BBQ's the lot of us. thinking back on it i now know why, but damn was i a nubbin then. Flying a raven w/ 1.5 mil sp's ftl.

I am the worst EVE PVPer:
Today I jump into a system in my Maller and see a hostile Caracal fighting with a friendly Vengeance,so I lock the caracal and scramble him while approaching him. Meanwhile the Carcal was firing light missiles at the Vengeance which warps away or jumps. So at this point i'm 500 meters from the Caracal which is NOSsed,webbed, and my 4 Quad light Beams are slowly eating through his shield.
Then, a Guristas Cruiser/Battlecruiser fleet spawns at the gate!!! My Maller is quickly jammed and destroyed...

hehe this is a nice thread...
Ok i have been in the pvp business for a really really long time so I have basically made every mistake ingame and got punished for it...but the top fevorits:
killed my own alt forgot it was mine and he was just sitting there at the gate looking rather cute:P
And was actually wondering why he didnt fire back:P
pvp in my bs with alot of my new acuired mods/skill about 300mil worth and offcourse i got killed:P
and my all time fevorite I always forget about my sec status so i have lost more ships to concord then to any other hostiles i have ever fought:P
I could go on and on but it brakes my heart to remember it all

I may not win but I definitely am not off to a promising start in pvp:
1) i have 6.8mm skill points, 11600 in gunnery
2) i have never actually fired a shot at a hostile or potentially hostile player character
3) i got a stealth bomber and while practicing on rats could not for the longest time figure out why they could target me from 100km+ away when i was not even in range to target them - hello, dont fit a REMOTE sensor booster to augment your range, fit a sensor booster
4) if i am not cloaked, i am not in my happy space

Ok my story is this
Killed a pirate (sec -2,4) in 0.4, he was flying rupture i wasn in a stabber and my friend in a thorax. After this, gone to a station to repair :) lost my ship in a sec. Didnt notice the agression in top right corner...
I was so happy for my 1st kill and then i was in a pod too :(

When i used to fly my taranis alot I would go out and hunt haulers all day with much luck - then oneday return to empire... when seeing a hauler the first thing I did was to shoot it... that got me shiny taranis blown up... habbits kills...

Both my stupid mistakes were sentry related.
1) Thinking sentries would protect and stopping to have a peek at the Vagabond locking me.
2) Forgetting that the sentries don't protect you any more for the first time after I dropped under -5.0
Other than that I read the forums a lot when I was new and learnt from other peoples noob mistakes. Also I am naturally suspicious and paranoid which helps - trust no one.

I'd like to nominate me
1) After running some missions out in gallente space, the mission runner had sent me into low sec for a couple missions running. After a couple hours of this I got bored and decided that I was gonna go do some pirating. Hoped in my Ishkur, warped to the nearest belt and found a covetor. Excellent, made my way over, scramed, sent my drones. The I was sitting in a pod... I was in 0.5 space, the same space as my agent, not the low sec space that my agent had been sending me.

the worst pvper was a guy called "seventh Sin".
over a year ago, he was shafted into kr0m as his previous corp didnt really want him, he then proceeded to lose ships constantly and smacktalk people who killed him saying they cheat etc. then, while in deep space, he demanded 200 mil from us or hed leave the corp and kill us.
shortly after that he liquidated his character and made a new one, which he wouldnt, and still hasnt, let us know who it is. even though he swore that his new character, being newer than all of us was capable of owning us all, and that would happen one day in the "near" future. if hes reading this. im still waiting.

My favorite moment was when I drunkenly led a group of corpmates into a DNA ambush in y9g.
We got out...just barely. And then I ordered everyone to warp in again (gangwarp ftw).
I'd do it again, too. If I had enough fuel (read: booze).

I thought it would be cool to engage a zealot and tempest with my domi, eventhough i knew i had no drones in my bay (because of bug). It wasn't untill i was into the fight for a while and the tempest was pwning me that i realized i didn't actually have anything that could do any damage except for a single 250mm railgun
Trying to pvp with a megathron for 2 months while i had a perfectly good domi sitting in a station... |
