Would prolly not have worked before either if you hadn't, but do you have the arial.ttf font in your wine/Cedega windows/fonts directory? (could have been moved/deleted by mistake, who knows).
Not the case. I started the game with the old version everything was ok. I updated applied the patch started eve-online again..I just have a black-screen instead of login menu.I tried to connect anyway trying to press everything inside the black box(same size as login) and nothing. I have sound.and if my /dev/dsp is busy when I start EVE I have the dialog that says: Sound card not available..etc...I really don't know what happened. I tried vannilla wine, I have arial.ttf I downloaded the full client installed in both cedega/wine..always the same blackwindow with sound :(

http://help.lockergnome.com/vista/EVE-Online-Vista-ftopict7136.html Could be something related to this? I don't know how to edit cedega's registry. Probably a caps problem between "Fonts" and "fonts". By the way I installed an old client lying around and I had the login screen :(

Originally by: Sevarus James IF (big if here) the cedega 5.2.10 engine is working, try the following in the command line options section of the game settings section:
/end /LUA:OFF
Because EVE now defaults to the "my documents" crapola, it is no longer storing the cache folder and such to its own directory. (Much to the anger of many who LIKE the fact that it didn't toss stuff around prior to this supposed "fix").
the command line parameter is supposed to force the eve.exe to look in its own directory (as it was normally prior to this patch.)
nup same problem

cedega has a fix..you just need to create a dir..still didn't try it. 0.9.36 works fine with the known map issues

Jep, I have the same problem!! Can anybody help us plz. Everytime I try to reinstall the game, I have to download the client all over again Is there no 'good' download link for the EveOnline-linux-xxxxxx 41736.dat file? When the download is finished by the cedega injstaller, I don't see the client in one of the folders assigned on the linux installer guide. Thx to all
try "default " "default" in audio device (alsa) instead of hw hw

Did you install the arial fonts? not sure if their even needed anymore but worth a try ^^ Other option would be to change the prefs.ini in ~./wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/< username >/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/settings and add "eulaagreed=-1162749333" in there. I guess the number is some timestamp that has to be older than your current system time or so ^^
The old arial.ttf issue solved it..completely forgot about it

Premium runs here but when I enable HDR I have nothing in space. only the squares and circles of stations/planets etc. Sound seems working ok. I'm using latest nvidia drivers(100 series).

the proof that wine is better than cedega. Yes..its working with only adding a line to /etc/hosts. And it still didn't crash with shadows and hdr off. Picture

Originally by: ElChupacabra I noticed that by disabling DNS by renaming resolv.conf through the whole eve session I don't get fps drop but if I enable it back even while playing, it starts to degrade.
I never had fps drop. I'm using the ip to localhost at /etc/hosts . Maybe that happens in systems with billboard.

Originally by: rig0r Those who have premium running, do you have problems with rendering as well ? For me, larger objects like my thanatos and station exteriors do not render properly. Also the planet at the login screen (EVE logo) has a lot of flickering going on around the edges.
Is this something that can be fixed by tweaking registry settings ? If so, please share
same here..stations and stargates don't render ok. with premium disabled the wine+elfie patch is much more stable than the wrapped client. I was running 2 accounts: one each(wine and wrapped client) and client crashed when I gave the order "show info" about a player and wine was ok with the same order.

I checked wine-git and the 0001-implement-BindIoCompletionCallback.patch file..and it seems the wine-git i cloned at this moment already has the patch. I'm trying to compile for the clone with no patches. Will say something about the result.

Yes eve premium runs fine with actual wine-git with no patch and no /etc/hosts-resolv.conf thingy.

So far no crash. Shadows off, sound off hdr off. Jumped through several systems in 0.0. Docked , undocked. Everything ok but the rendering of stations and stargates (stations only show parts, stargates only have that blue thing and no structure is seen at all)

For me, however, it looks like the selection box for some objects is too large, and stations and stargates are invisible - effects on stations and stargates are there (the glow effects for stargates, lights and elevators on Gallente office outposts), but the models/textures themselves are invisible for some reason. Everything else appears fine, and the client is totally stable. Is anyone else having this issue?
same thing here. Only that is not working for me now.

Add me to the list of peoples with this problem. It is truely a premium content problem. Classic modules are fine, but ugly :(
Sometimes, when the stargate/station should be there I have a pink/purple layout of the gate/station in the middle of the screen .Forgot to report that.

Everything works with no tweaks required ... Gates also do not render at all.
so you didn't change the offscreen rendering to fbo as described in the wine appdb?
I did..still don't have stations stargates ..nor carriers. How can I know if the regedit is ok? I inserted HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Wine -> Direct3d -> OffscreenRendringMode to fbo ( as in string value)

Originally by: Element 22 I hate to bring it up again, but does anybody know how to check if wine can access the internet? I think that may be why I'm getting a blank eula.
Or any other suggestions would be appreciated.
that's arial.ttf missing in fonts dir
