First of all, yes I am posting with an alt. Why? Because I haven't told my corp that I just lost everything we owned between us, I'd rather not tell them via a forum post. If you do figure it out guys, I'm so sorry
I started EVE online a few months ago, and like any newbie I learnt that ANY sec status does not mean you are safe. I guess that if you are reading this, here is your warning: Don't forget those early newbie lessons!!
I started off as a miner and slowly moved onto production joining a nice little corp full of people of similar intrests as myself. We mined together, produced together, and generally had a great time. Until our first corp theif who took 200m in minerals and ships. That hurt, but we're not a group to fall at the first hurdle, we gathered ourself, and went about REbuilding our little empire. Sub-Empire. Anyway after a couple of weeks our CEO decided to leave and handed over CEO-Ship to me. Upsetting but it was due to real life stuff.
Hooray!
Or so I thought. Around 5 weeks ago, we got war declared on. Damn. Another hurdle, or at least what we thought would be another hurdle. A small corporation of just 4 people had seemingly war declared us, But we never saw them. Ever. We didn't see this corporation ONCE for the next 8 weeks. Whats going on?
This pirate corporation had seemingly made a war declaration and never acted upon it. Infact, the Pirates CEO logged on only twice within a long period of time, woo hoo maybe this was not such a bad turn of events and just a random declaration from pirates looking for an easy shot.
Anyways, we found ourselves a small niche market in mining ice, dark glitter infact and ended up making our corp quite profitable, its long since dry, but it was great whilst it lasted. . Infact I would go so far as to say our little corp wallet was fairly impressive for a bunch of players who had played for such a short time. We scraped around 400m and invested it into blueprints. Sure it was only cruisers, but it felt quite an achievement to consider we now had an inventoryof blueprints!.
Anyways, we decided that in order to maximise our production of these cruisers we would need to move to Lagsulaert, the nearest hub to us (I Mean Oursulaert oh please don't ban me!!) in order to actually make ends meet. A couple of us may have been a bit aprehensive setting up so far from a hub and charging 7.5m for a Thorax ;) but we're a fairly fun group and wanted to try and carve out our own place, but it hadn't worked.
No big deal. On to Oursulaert!
Transport Ships I! Hooray! Finally I'm flying around in an armored elongated (and strangely phallic shaped!) Occator. Time to start phase 2....Our market operations place! Woo hoo!.
By now its 3am. My second account is soothing my ears with the SWoOoOsh....SwoOosh of ice mining, and I'm cramming all our blueprints and remaining minerals into the occator for the fairly long journey to our new base of operations!. Phew, its all in there. Perhaps half a billion or so of stuff!
Setting autopilot was a breeze. Not a single low sec system on the way there to bother me and my precious transport ship. Bring it on, pirates, no haulers for you to pop today! I set my ship off, sitting infront of the monitor and munching on a sandwich, switching back and forth between my ice mining and my jumping hauler.
Remember what I said about remembering those first lessons? Yeah, remember those. YOU ARE NEVER SAFE IN SPACE. Trundling along in my hauler approaching the second to last gate on my uneventful journey.....
Flashing red........FLASHING RED...........FLASHING. RED.
Crap. Yeah, those guys. The guys we had not seen for a LONG LONG TIME had picked the best time ever to be online and active and presumably heading off to some low sec to blow up the nearest hauler. But they ran into me. Their only war target online.
The one with everything our corp owned stuff. All 500m of it.
Crap

Id be more looking at who in your corp proposed the move, its a pretty good trick and used before to war dec your own corp when you fail to get access to corp hangars to steal.
Good luck on explaining it all to your corp, but Im sure you will get over it

It might just be me and this isn't a reflection on who you really are (obviously I have no idea), but the foundations are also set for you to have stolen this from your own corp - nice little alt-post on forums etc... Your corp mates are likely to want to see the kill-mail and want to talk to the guys that popped your ship and even then will still have that thought in the back of their head about whether it really happened the way you described.... Happy dreams

I appreciate what you are saying. However the people in my corp would KNOW I am not this kind of person. Infact we're a pretty close group and I cannot imagine any of them doing this, and I know I certainly would not.

All I can say is, if you are transporting something that expensive, you should have done it with EVERY ONE of your corp mates with you in their combat ship.
Sorry for your loss, but that's the truth.

That's quite a painful and expensive lesson. All you can do is pick up the pieces, and maybe use instas next time you're at war while carrying half a bil worth of stuff. actually, might want to do that anyway, suicide gankers might have had a pop at you with all that stuff in your hold.
Good luck __________________________________________________

#1 - If there was more than one war target, odds are you were maybe unlucky but quite possibly ratted out.
#2 - blueprints belong in a very fast MWD frigate if you don't have instants.

Really though, with a war dec out there, moving alot of valuable under the corp tag is kind of stupid. Really stupid in fact. Get someone else to move it as in an alt in noob corp with a tanked BS or something. Even retards ganking in 1.0 sec space won't bother with that.

First of all, in a certain profession there's no such thing as a coincidence. And what you described sounds like such a non-coincidence. You might have a traitor, turncoat or just an opportunist in your corp who benefitted from the theft directly or indirectly. Or just did it out of spite.
And, as have been said several times, you really should've had escorts.

I reckon your thinking those bm sellers are looking cheap right now.
You made the same mistake as many in this game assuming the worst cant happen it does and more often than one would expect.
Hauling anything worth a lot to you should be done in something fast with bms.
As for corp fess up, some of you corp mates may consider that perhaps that they should have been around to help you move.
GL, you can always rebuild. Its always faster the sedond or third time around.

well 50/50 chance of a spy or you being a corp thief.
personally I would kick you as s nub for using a hauler while war dec'd. You should of left your corp then rejoined later. Anyway thata sside. I would also kick you for not telling teh rest iof teh corp of the loss right away. You obviously didnt anounce a war target is around in corp chat which means you put the rest of teh corp at risk.
Name teh corp that dec'd you so that others will knoe to watch for the spy tactic from them if they are dec'd by them. This assuming that you arnt a corp thief of course

Ouch chief, sorry to hear that..
I don't think there is any way around this but just letting your corp mates know what happened. It isn't your fault, or at least it doesn't seem like it ;)
Anyway, just need to get back on the horse and continue, it's tough having to remake hard earned money, but its the only way to go, mate.
Though, it does seem VERY convenient for those pirates, that they just "happen" to show up at that particullar time doesn't it? :)

Meh....If I was ever to steal from my own corp, I'd just do it, and run. Why would you want to stay in a corp that you have so little respect for, that you lie to them about dying. The corp will probably be crippled by the loss, and a thief would not bother staying.
So, if you ARe a thief, congrats....you just made 1/2 Billion ISK.
on the other hand, If you are serious....ouch...thats going to hurt your corp, and it will probably split up. Still, nevermind, you can always get employment in another corp. Just tell them, "Her, sorry, boys and girls, I just lost all our assets". The worst that will happen is they hunt you down and pod you repetively. If they do, just move far far away, where they probably wont bother following you.
Its only a game. Incidents like these add to the character of it. Write about it in your Bio, and make a nice character history.

This post doesn't smell quite right and my spider-sense is tingling. It sounds as if it is written so that anyone from this corp will recognize it on purpose. It is also unnecessary is has way too much detail.
I am going to say that "Looktu" robbed his own corp and is trying to pass along the blame while keeping his corp happy. In 3 years of EVE, my spider-sense has never been wrong.
If the "mysteriously-perfectly-timed-return" pirate corp confirms his story here with a kill mail, I will eat my hat.

That fact alone rates high on my suspect ometer.

Yeah I find this kinda suspicious also. I mean if your corp had 5 bn isk worth of gear and you moved 500m of it without an escort that would seem legit. But moving ALL of your corps assets in a single hauler without an escrot just seems unbelievable really.

500m worth of stuff? a friend of mine just joined eve, total newb, made about 200m on his own in his 2 months in cash and actually has nice skilsl and +2 rig and a ferox. so to be honest, 500m worth of stuff means the corp was pretty clueless so i actually believe the story, sorry for the hard truth mate. dont quit eve, 500m is not much. just play for 6 more months and you'll laugh about that sum. think of it that way: if you and your corp just do lvl4 missions for a week you'll have it all back and possibly alot more!

Edited by: Salmonella on 09/03/2006 17:52:31 1.Create 4 alts on your 2 accounts 2.Make pirate corp with your alts 3.They can not be online when you're playing with your two main accounts. 4.Wait till all corp members are offline 5.Rip yourself off 6.Disband corp
Et voila! Mystery solved...

How Do You Tell Your Corp You Lost Everything?
You don't need to tell them, just quit the game in shame.
Sex0r > you're bounty turns me on.. you seem like the kind of amarrian to dominate me

Eggs.......
Baskets......
Could be a plan for the future if this is a legit theft.
It is calming to me to see a level of paranoina desplayed by so many on these forums that I once thought I needed medication for.

Originally by: Yarek Balear It might just be me and this isn't a reflection on who you really are (obviously I have no idea), but the foundations are also set for you to have stolen this from your own corp - nice little alt-post on forums etc... Your corp mates are likely to want to see the kill-mail and want to talk to the guys that popped your ship and even then will still have that thought in the back of their head about whether it really happened the way you described.... Happy dreams

No offence to the OP, but a killmail would be nice.

First of all it IS VERY wierd that nobody was online and u saw the war enemies first time then ater weeks. This cant be coincidance. I beleive that either u where setup by ur corp or there was an informant. Cause i if u say true nad the loss was just 500mil u must be a nublar to rob a noobie corp that only has 500mil nad get a name for urself just for 500m. Also since u are a mining corp and u have 2 accounts i figure that u are able to mine 500mil in short 10 days so why bother. Also since no bpo or significant modules and ISK where in the pocession of the corp i do not see a reason for someone to become a knowned corp thief for so little reward.
