Killing a freighter solo in .4 space by tiller age 35 +
Well I just got a real buzz out of this and itĘs my finest solo moment in eve so far. (ok IĘm a nub lol) ą. Feel free to flame me, but you gotta say, itĘs dam cool. Have to share as it shows some valuable lessons to all freighter pilots on not how to die.
Sitting at low sec gate with my trusty alt in the next system I see a obelisk come to gate. Now if I was in a gang then fine, we may have been able to kill it but solo, bah, not a chance. I think, well, lets just have a goą maybe even a ransom. I quickly switch to paradise fury cruise and wait, in he jumps.
Then he appears, 24km scram activates on him and he stops, his shield goes dam fast, quickly I stop my launchers and switch to devastator furyą and then let rip. I convo the guy ęblahblah has added you to his block listĘą great. The sentrys by now were really eating into the light tank of my raven and even though I was launching drones to help share the sentry anger (and kill him of course), I was out of cap and about to hit hullą

At this stage he was also in hull but hull resists seemed crazyą I had to leave, luckily he thought the same and appears to have logged at this stage. I warp to safe and turn straight round to get to snipe spot. On way to snipe spot I load up longer range paradise cruise and to my amazement he was still there, though no longer in local.
The bombardment begins, almost 2 full loads of paradise cruise rain down on his unpiloted shipą while my alt hauler sits in front of him in case of any attempts to warp. Several mins later BOOOOOM, obelisk explodes. No loot of course, but maybe CCP would fix that soon, would be nice.
Sniping the abandoned ship out of sentry range
Lessons to learn for freighter guys..
1.donĘt block someone scrambling you
2.donĘt log and expect to be in your ship even at a protected gate against one raven and in a seemingly impregnable ship.
Oh, hereĘs the mail, I know not cool, but hey itĘs a nice thing to have in my in box

Wow, someone's got to be really dumb to block you when you're scrambling their freighter... as smart pirates will always ransom a freighter (since no loot drops).

For sure... was fitted for fast lock but it would of helped big syle. Also wished I didn't have all those stabs fitted lol

Excellent job, and I agree with ya, WTH is up with ppl blocking ransom convos? Just yesterday I had 3 targets try to self destruct before I could kill them to deny me the kill mail even! I of course killed them faster than they could destruct. But it was still funny/amusing/stupid.

I did but my kill wasn't legit ;|. Server went mental or something and I got 15 consecutive hits of over 7,000 on my target's hull, so 130k structure popped in 5 seconds. I've mailed him the log and I imagine he'll be reimbursed when the GMs get round to looking at it. I seem to remember when VC/stain busted up that tribal souls 6 freighter convoy, Daakkon was the only name on one of the killmails, dunno if that was a bug or for real.

Has anyone ever ransomed a freighter but taken it down to like 5-10% hull as punishment for any SASS the pilot gave them? I can't imagine repairing from that much damage would be wallet friendly.

WOW!!!! I'm really impressed. You killed the slowest ship in EVE, with no defenses at all, and got absolutely nothing out of it except the satisfaction of setting someone back about a billion and a half. Kudos to the ebil pirate!!
Maybe next time you'll have a go at someone who can fight back. But somehow I doubt it.

He attempted to ransom it.
Game mechanics helped the freighter (sentry guns and noob corp hiding)
Freighter logged and he a) stopped it from warping b) Still managed to kill it.
It is a pretty impressive accomplishment. The fact that you disagree with his style of play does not detract from that

I beleive it was by choice that the player was killed, after all, he did block triller from making a ransom and then logged. He deserved to die!

I payed 100mil because the friend of mine who was flying the Freighter shouldn't have logged out. I HATE LOGGERS!!!
As for your emotional stress: Feel good about your accomplishement, as I hear it is quite hard to tank while killing a freighter. Too bad about the cargo. You would have been very happy.

Thats pretty damm sweet, I didnt think you would be able to do it by yourself in a raven, nice idea going sniping range. Did sentrys not pop lots of your missiles?

Yep, obelisk had just that second gone boom. You can see his pod and the explosion, my 'yellow' hauler is right where he was sitting. Coercer was just a secondary target...
