Rome wasn't built in a day. Don't rush things, have a little of patience, relax and enjoy eve. why would I want to create an alt? I'll just train it on Paul.
Because it lets you train stuff that you don't like in your main. I have two accounts, main focused in combat and the alt flies falcon, logistics and now it is training boosting skills.

Logi is one of the fastest ways of getting into incursions if you start from scratch. Getting Logi 5 (and rest of the relevant essentials to 5) is approx 6 months. It takes substantially longer to properly max a dps boat (which is usually a pirate BS) for a good-income incursion fleet.
There are some incursion communities that take anything (almost) but as far as I understand the isk is not very good. I would even go as far as to say it might not be better than running lev 4's with the same skills. Here, sanity... niiiice sanity, come to daddy... okay, that's a good sanity... *THWONK!* GOT the bastard. |

For me its about 2 months to have a chance at getting into incursions but no way am I grinding for that considering that Scimitar is preferred.
So I'm giving up on incursions. Give it 6 months and they'll no longer be accepting anything but pirate ships anyway. |

It doesn't matter any more as I've had to sell the ship to replace my RNI after it got destroyed by rats when I was scrambled by frigates. |

Paul Otichoda wrote: Several points about Incursions, and not understanding the whole communities responses.
If your losing ships to mission rats you are definitely not going to have anything to offer an incursion fleet. As the whole point of time invested in training equating to performance boosts in ability, and then massive boosts in earning is what EVE is all about. If your frustrated that you aren't earning enough to fly 2 billion ISK ships it is probably because you haven't trained enough to fly them either, thus the adage 'Don't fly what you can't afford to lose'. That applies in reverse order as well, if you can't afford to lose it you probably don't have the skills to fly it (Appropriately) anyway.
I will say this again, in it's own line so it doesn't get lost in translation; Scimitars are preferred for some fleets and Basi's are preferred for other fleets, there will never be a time that one is exclusive to the other.
And training to fly any ship with perfect skills should be the goal, not something to avoid, otherwise your never going to see them work the way they are designed. Training a skill till it exceeds one day and then stopping is akin to buying a sports car, and never taking it out of first gear.

Incursions are not for brand new players.
You need to do something else first.
Run Missions till you have enough isk that a few 100 million is not that much for you. (( Combat pilots ))
Mine away as you train up a perfect logi. (( Industrialist ))
Trade away at a hub until you have skills ready for a chosen ship. (( Traders ))
Eve is a long term game. It's built to be that way like no other game. If you can't be patient you will fail at Eve.
Have a variety of high level ships/skills and get into incursions with ease. |

Another pubbie who heard about incursion isk and wants a piece if the pie with as little time/effort invested on the alt...
OP: Your knowledge about the game is bad, your motivation and attitude are terrible( wich is the reason we cant help you), and lets face it: you wont last long in any decent community.
When i get home ill contract you a drake so you can fuckoff in lvl 3-4 missions unttil you realise that you might have to "train some skills" - Invest skill, isk nd time into your ship/community and then yes you'll get spacerich. Until then continue to put as little effort into an online multiplayer spaceship game, preferd, as far away from incursions as possible...
Just some tough love, incase you didnt realise how bad you are Fungu Arsten |

One word of advice, been playing a very long time and tried all eve has to offer. I have struggled to ISK for years until I made friends.. Hang out with people first and get to know them, after all EVE is an MMO... |

Out of curiosity, how likely is a Golem to be accepted into an incursion. I'd like to get into incursions eventually but I chose missiles when I started playing :( Sorry to hijack thread edit; 25 days for a level 5 isn't that bad IMO, i'd just bite the bullet and go for it. Currently i'm 30 days from Caldari battleship V |

There is no reason you can't train guns though. Go for lasers and a Nightmare. |

This post is the cherry on top. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

Thanks, before Rubicon I was training hybrid turrets for an incursion Rokh to get started, got upto T2 mediums then they changed all the requirements lol. It's not entirely out of the question that i'll swap to guns :) |

Good advice but not completely true re "it's guns or go home". U0R VG accepts missile boats frequently for Vanguards and a Golem works just fine.
This is to help out those just starting out with incursions
Having said that, it is true turrets are much preferred, however. |

I am a fairly new player and I specifically had this character training towards T3 cruisers.
I could sit in a proteus before I had 3m SP, and now that I am almost double that SP...I have yet to actually sit in a proteus because even being new I know there is a difference between sitting in something and flying something.
Due to your apparent maturity level and need for instant gratification...

Currently i'm 30 days from Caldari battleship V Unfortunately, like Antillie Sa'Kan said, it's basically guns or go home. I'd say after the Caldari bs gets done, train amarr bs to 4 and the needed gunnery skills to get into a Nightmare. The groups I chat with really like them, and the Cald BS skill directly affects the damage it will output anyway.
Actually this is my goal too =P I'm training for both the Golem and Paladin and in the meantime getting a NM to run incursions with. |
