Hey community and CCP.
Too many of these whinny posts i know but i'll try to be brief. Played this game for a number of years, great game, keeps my mind active and love to multi-task mine at the office. We are a small mining carebear manefacturing corp that lives in the middle of nowhere in Hi-Sec, mines builds ships and does research etc. Since customs office change went in, within 2 days large corps all moved in and put up customs offices with stupid tax rates etc. We tried to compete, even declared war and tried too take down some offices, no chance with huge corps with unlimited equipment of the best calibre. We supplied our own own starbase fuel, ice mined. rock mined, supplied the market with all sorts of stuff. Now our ICE is hard too get and bots were only tricked for a maybe a week, our Pi stuff is taxed too hell, people gank with alarming regularity and with no consequences on alts. We can live with everything except that CCP has taken the fun out of the game in Hi-Sec. We don't want too move too low sec, quite happy here enjoying the game, less and less and less. Bye, great game, hope Hi-Sec gets some love in future patches and we can come back and enjoy the game like we like too play it. If i want too see the rich get richer and the poor work ever harder to survive with no joy, i'll visit real life. Peace
BTW I understand the EVE universe is ruthless, but when you keep taking the fun out of a game, it stops being a game. |

Good luck and have fun elsewhere. There are more games coming to the genre, so maybe some of them will be a good replacement for the EVE you used to play. The Greater Fool Bar is now open for business, 24/7. Come and have drinks and fun somewhere between RL and New Eden! |

Move further away from Jita. The ganking will be less prevalent and the POCO won't be taxed as high. |

You can do 2 things :
- Stick to what you are doing and get your fun drained when stuff doesn't work as you like.
-Change your playstyle to fit your goals.
Now you said you guys like to do the industrial side of the game and i noticed you are a verry small corp.Instead of complaining about your ice mining or poco's how about you try and get the best out of it in a less and/or safer way.Tell your friends to train marketskills and try that side of the game.
Marketing + the research and building you guys do makes it a much more profitable game and much safer too.You can let others haul your stuff to make it even safer , join the haulers channel for this or use the frogs.
The only thing that get's people to quit the game is because they are too scared/stubborn/small minded to change their habbits.Like the last ragequit post from a guy who got ganked 5 times ... he did not mention ALL 5 times where in the same system and that all kills where done by the same corporation.

Have you done the maths on what you're doing?
PI is cheaper than ever; ganking is rarer than ever (due to harsher consequences than ever); ice mining is more worthless than ever; normal mining isGǪ well, a bit better, actually, but still not really a good way to spend your time GÇö you'd get far more by acquiring ISK and just buying the materials you need.
It just mainly sounds like you guys haven't looked at any alternatives to just keep doing what you're doing where you're doing it. Highsec as gotten a lot of love in the last couple of patches, and it's not going to go back to the way it was. The key (as always) is adaptation and versatility. It doesn't really have anything to do with ruthlessness but rather with just being aware of your environments and the vast multitude of options it is offering you. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

They see this:
They didn't die before.
After
They died once.
Hence ganking must be up for everyone.

I'll try too better explain. Casual players, small corp, ENJOY mining (shock). Trained many skills for specific tasks and rolls for ridiculous amounts of times, tasks and rolls degraded, devalued and now controlled by mega corps and bots CCP cant control. No more enjoyment. All good suggestions btw, yes we should adapt and change , but when your only playing several hours a week and you worked your ass off to build up your carebear empire and enjoyed logging on when you could find the time, and CCP makes mega 0.0 empires control your local ****. It's just, meh, got better things too do, it's still a great game, just not for us anymore. Enjoyment is a personnel thing., |

That's just you making excuses.
See, the thing is, I'm in a (very) small casual highsec industry corp. I have trained the (fairly few) skills required for mining. So I don't buy these GÇ£woe is meGÇ¥ stories. Also, guess what? Fun or not, a lot of the things I trained for were very easy to identify as a pretty wasteful use of my (indeed, our) time. Finding better, more interesting, more controllable activities was truly trivial. No ass-off-working needed. Just bump the skills and get going GÇö hell, it's one of the real beauties of the EVE progression system.
You want a carebear empire? Then you have to do that thing that all empires have to do to survive: don't stagnate. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

I get my data from the simple fact that I used to make good money from sitting on the Jita undock or Perimeter gate(s) stealing gank loot, and you could count the CONCORD clouds along every highway. The money is gone, as are the clouds (and not just in the sense that they don't appear in force like in the olden days).
This makes it based on an observed reality, unlike every claim ever made about some supposed increase in ganking. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

No, the tl:dr is "i don't like the current situation of the game and i'm not having fun". For me, eve is the perfect game and i love it but not everyone feels the same and it is understandable.
Of course, showing some empathy requires more effort and it is easier to post old and unoriginal quotes.

no, it was basically a systematic whine about every change to conflict drivers that has been done in the last 18 months or so? even more justified by his first line basically saying "i afk mine while at work" demonstrating just how little effort he wants to put in to the game to begin with. |

Try NPC null sec. There are regions of null that are empty. I still see quite many Interbus Customs Offices aswell. Maybe move there? PI is better in null, you can mine better stuff in null, exploration is better and so on. In all honestly, when I returned from Stain to Dodixie to sell some stuff, I realized how peaceful and serene Stain was compared to High Sec. But maybe its just me. |

Ah yes, the effort, sorry.
I don't need to put effort in the game. Maybe when i started, i had to read some tutorials, watch some videos... etc. That is what you call effort? Do you really believe that eve is hard and that it requires effort? Are you a new player or something? |

Having played EVE, WoW, Everquest and Aces HIgh I would say EVE pvp requires the least amount of actual effort. WoW requires more effort than EVE, Aces High required more effort and more technical knowledge, EvE would again come last for technical knowledge.
Fact is EVE is a very simple game to just play, especially pvp wise in the usual 'gangs' or a gank cat. I could buy one plex (RMT), requiring no in game effort, buy and fit 300 catalysts, overheat my guns, press F1 and blow up probably 200 retrievers / frigs / shuttles / indies and pods.
All for no effort.

This part of your post reminds me of something that happened to me.
I visit a friend occasionally, who lives across town. I always go the same way, because it seems to be the most efficient route on my bicycle. One day, I was on my way there and found that the road was blocked. There was some road work going on and all traffic was being detoured to nearby streets, which didn't have bike lanes. I couldn't believe that the city would do such a thing, and I had to stop and gather myself for a moment. Then, I turned around and rode back home and quit going to see that friend of mine until the city made it possible to go to see him again . . .
. . . I'm kidding, of course. I just rode up the block and took the next street. I guess it's just harder for some people to "go a different way". I hope you realize that quitting is also "going a different way", you're just also changing your destination.
Ride safe. |

Tippia, if anyone else presented a statement like yours as 'evidence' you would, quite rightly, rebut their claims as fast as you could type laughing at them and asking for 'proper' evidence, not just some half-baked impression based on their very limited experience of ganking.
I have no idea if ganking rates are up, down, or the same over the last few years. neither it would seem have you.
Unless you can provide real evidence for your claim that ganking rates are down, I call BS on your part.

This doesn't really equate for me. I used to mine on a regular basis. I too actually enjoyed it, to some extent, with large groups. Both for the time it gave us to sit around BS'ing and for the strange amusement we got from clearing a belt in record times. However, I've moved on because when I discovered just how profitable trading can be for what equates to less time and less effort really. Spent about 2 weeks training what I considered the necessary skills to gain most profit from trading but it's become my primary income since. Due to trading, I've gained more profit from my building as well.
You say you spent time building your empire but you need to learn that like any real life business, sometimes a company has to evaluate and reconfigure its business strategy or branch out to keep up or stay ahead of the game. So consider it the same.
And really, what's the difference between changing the way you play a game rather than just quitting and having to find, learn and build an empire in an entirely new game? |

Thank you CCP for changing the customs offices in high sec. Turns out you can now get much better deals on tax rates than you ever could before when Interbus was in charge. Still, I hear some care-bear corps are ticked off at this change and are deciding to quit the game. Thank you CCP for helping these entitled noobs who add nothing to the game at all realize that they are not necessary in New Eden. It's only their own delusion that inflates their image of self worth "I'm an industrialist without me you would not have ships to fly!". Yeah, we're really going to miss those 5 cruisers a week.
When will high sec "industrialists" realize that most low/nullsec players have evolved from indy characters and we're all pretty self-sufficient? |

BTW I understand the EVE universe is ruthless, but when you keep taking the fun out of a game, it stops being a game. This is a fairly well put together troll post, however lets put some pressure on the OP and see if he can keep it up.
1: What was your tax rate for PI before, and what is it now? 2: Do you realize there is an NPC tax now that was not there before? 3: Do you realize that in most area's of space the tax rate in player owned POCO's is lower than NPC customs offices? 4: What are you doing wrong while ice mining that is making you more of a target than you previously were, there are no major interdictions going on at the moment? 5: What is keeping you from simply moving a few systems away where POCO taxes are better? 6: Do you realize that if the POCO tax rate at your preferred planet is to high you can always use a rocket?
I'm a bit disappointed with the forum regulars at the moment, you should have spotted this one a mile away (except for Tippia, because Tippia enjoys wearing the trolls down with undiluted stamina). With the simple tactic of throwing in the red herring of a compliment to the game at the beginning he got you to buy into his sincerity despite the rather obvious contrived nature of his situation... and the absurdly simple solutions to "CCP taking all the fun out of his play style" available to, well, everyone.
Lets see if he's creative enough to come up with plausible answers to the questions above without making the troll too obvious. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

I guess I should have quit a long time ago rather than figure it all out and keep having fun. Since I didn't give anyone my stuff, I guess now I need to give people my stuff with interest. Damn.

There was no nonsense involved. I had most of my PI in one system, on the same 5 planets.

Get more than a few jumps away from a trade hub, and get out of Caldari space, in general. It works. Here's my story (one that is pretty common to anyone willing to leave Caldari space):
I have a T2 production alt whose system only has a few player-run CO's in it (one of which is my own). Sure, I'm 15-20 jumps from the nearest trade hub, but the belts are healthy, there are plenty of anoms, the station's manufacturing rarely has more than a handful of jobs in it (several of which are usually my own), and gankers are incredibly rare.
The systems I tend to travel through are practically barren of players, as well. Sure, there aren't 20+ belts in each system, and in fact, some may only have 2-4 belts per system, but they're healthy and it's often possible for a Mack to fill their hold (and then some) on a single rock.
There are also multiple ice belts within 5 or so jumps, and buying ice in-system there is cheap (I put up buy-orders in those systems for 5% below the nearest trade hub, and have had no issues at all getting all the ice I want, all without having to compete with bots or other miners).
There is plenty of space in EvE. Get out there, do a little exploration (not anom exploration, but actually looking around and seeing what is out there), and you'll find that Ransoms are accepted in Isk, Ships, Mods, and Dolls. |

Don't you believe it. I've got a PI setup 18 jumps from Jita and the numpties running one set of POCO's there has set the rate to 25%. Not the 80% - 90% that has been talked about but enough to make PI in Hi Sec uneconomical.
O.K. you will say, move to Lo Sec or Null. I would if EVE was a full time game for me, but dipping in and out as RL allows makes it more convenient to stay mostly in hi sec. I probably would make more ISK if I did but at the cost of more commitment than I can reasonably give.
Still, PI is only one arrow in my quiver, there's plenty of other things to keep the ISK rolling, which it at the moment. Thank goodness. |

You can get chars unbiomassed for your info .
One of those chars is now telling you that you can get chars unbiomassed ...

Yup. CCP has made it clear time and time again that their allegiances are with the blob -sec groups. Have a look at where most of the devs are hired from and it becomes quite clear. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

I gave all my stuff to some friends a year or 5 back and biomassed just to save myself from this addiction.About a year later i returned and asked CCP to do me a favour , they did just that god bless 'em .Only problem was my friends stopped too or burned through that pile of isk so i had to start from scratch and my name was taken by another player in the meantime so i had to pick myself a new name.
