why are some people suggesting only 5 guns? imo 6 guns is a must!

Can these setups be used for lvl 4s? Are they worth trying in lvl 4s? Looking for something that can be good for lvl 4s more than pvp. Though can use it for pvp as well when the need arises.

Fit it as you whould the Zealot. Just whit two more guns. I basicly see it as a zealot whit 50% more damage. It's an awsome ship tbh. My thoughs

Would it?:P Natural resistances vs phased plasma ... i don't give absolution much chance... maybe with beams and keeping the range.

Absolution would just tank too well with 7 lows + cap injector. sleipnir only has 5 mids and it res kinda suck

Incorrect.
I would say that with equal skills and decent setups for both ships....the Sleipnir has a big advantage here (Natural ressies versus Amarr).
Autocannons on a Sleipnir will most likely kill an Absolution without too much trouble. Even with 80% ressies across the board and dual rep/cap injector.

Hi
Its clear that the Absolution has its limits (3 Mid slots for one) but if you use it with another support ship or in a gang it can be a real winner aspecially when it uses a Gang assit module like the Armored Warfare Link - Passive Defense or the Armored Warfare Link - Rapid Repair. When peep's start to use them in earnest the HAC will be history Imho.
If anyone has any setups that use gang assit modules or just thinks they are a waisted bonus please discuss below.

Level 4 fit:
6 Heavy Pulse IIs, Med Nos II AB II, X5 Webber, Eutetic Cap Med AR II, Energized thermal plate, 2x EAN IIs, Decent CPR, 2x HS IIs
And a rack of rat specific Drones
With True Sansha Thermal and EANs the resists are up in the 80s with decent armor comp skills and the damage from the 6 guns n 5 lights is sickly. For tough missions swap a HS out for another CPR (or even both of them) and you should be able to run the AB and Repper permenantly. I prefer this config as flying around with the AB on 24*7 gives you a slight advantage against large NPC tracking.
Do _not_ put a plate on it, otherwise you can go make a coffee while it aligns to warp, because its a prophecy chasis it has the agility of a salted slug.

Mav serious why would you not utilise the entire turret hardpoints on an absoul?
Just seems to me like a waste of dps. --------------------------------------------------------

just wanted to say, everyone's saying sleipnir has good resistances against absolution... well.. seeing as most people on a sleipnir use barrage, if not hail, imo absolution has pretty wicked resistanced vs the sleipnir? =)

Is that all? My sacrilege was damn near close to that.
I'll let ya know if I can top it in 2 days.
...but your thermal resist looks way low. I have mine up higher in the sacrilege and according to my calculations...the damnation should be better on all sides. That is of course unless you're missing compensation skills.
AND these guys are talking about absolution too not damnation AND the reason I'm here reading and posting - I'm trying to figure out if absolution's damage bonus over the small (perhaps small I'm trying to find out just how small) resistance difference is worthwhile.
In other words - I know the damnation can be the best tank in the game and I have the setup for it already mapped out. ...BUT how much better is it than an absolution for tanking? Really?
...and in my opinion, if all your resists aren't above 85% it ain't worth sh*t

in the kind of pvp you should use it for (small gangs/solo) to the enemies you're fighting it's both a good enough tank (like, tank everything, kinda)

Edited by: Yaman on 18/05/2006 21:51:56 Yea. True and you aren't gonna tank a gank.
Here's my problem. Eve crashes on me randomly. I've replaced video card, power supply, tried everything. No one can figure it out, not even some of the bug hunters who have contacted me trying to help (and I appreciate that help).
SO my theory in order to go back to 0.0 and feel better about it (because if I lost my ship due to a problem like that - I'd be super PO'd and I know CCP wouldn't reimburse me even though it's completely their fault - I meet all requirements, etc. I've spent hundreds of dollars trying to fix the problem and yet CCP gave me nothing - not even any kinda reimbursement on game time for a half functional product, but i digress..)
my point is - I plan to have the best tank possible so I can quickly start eve again and warp out, attack back, etc. before dying. - or if I die it won't be because I crashed.
One of my goals was to be able to tank a blasterthron and I think I may be there with the damnation - but I'm not sure about absolution.
oh and what do I do now? empire lvl4 missions - with sacrilege. SO if that ship can tank well, I'm really drooling over the damnation, but I want to figure out if it's really worth over the absolution before I invest a lot of isk.

deathbarrage -- I need about 1400dps tanked
but good to know. i'm left to wonder though what actual resists are on an absolution -- i guess i could just buy that one first - then sell it and get a damnation and test but i was hoping to find info before spending isk hehe

Only using for PVE/NPC at the moment but:
6x Hvy Pulse 2 (MF for NPC) 1x T2 Med NOS
1x 10mn AB2 1x T2 cap Recharger 1x 90% Web
1x Corpum A-Type Med Reper 2x T2 EAN 2x T2 HS 1x CPR
tanks runs all the time for any and all Angel spawns whilst delivering OMGWTF wrecking shots upto 700 dmg (is that good?)... and I've still got 2 more command ship levels to train....
 soooo loving this ship
