i buyed the Thorax even its a fighter and i just mine heheh.. well what would be the next best ship after Thorax?

well to match the thorax for mining a ship has to have 5 turrets and what 900-1000 drone bay (at least, 1500+ for a few combat drones to switch out as needed help) not all battleships have that .. :)

yep shes right.. it beats a scorpion at mining  , u need at least 500 drone space 2 match it (elites...) someone else can defend

Since you are only a couple skill levels away you're next ship should be a Dominix battleship. It will give you an extra laser and a couple more mid slots. It's a great all around ship.

And while your in that thorax, or dominix if you get impatient, you should be training amarr cruiser and BS skill so you get an apocalypse with 8 lasers and plenty of mining drones.

dominix its the best all around mining ship out there and you can still take it out sunday and kill rats all day long.
apocolypse may or may not be a good choice i don't know but it takes more than the number of lasers to make a good miner. I am currently trying wrestle a mega into miner duty and I already miss the comfort and ease that the dominix has to spare. Domi may not be the best at anything but it does every thing well. Its the Best balanced ship in the game.

I have an Apocalypse, and it IS the best mining ship. 8 lasers, 10 harvesters, and 6 (soon 7) lowslots that can be filled with cargo expanders. If you are cautious you can flip out one miner for a turret, and be still on par with armageddon and megathron, while having added protection.

Armageddon is the best mining ship.
7 miner 2 lasers
8 27% expanders
10 harvester drones
this loadout will eat up roids so fast and you will act as your own indy (4,000 cargo capacity)

I'm assuming you don't actually USE that loadout, otherwise you'd know the major downsides with it.
- 48 m/s speed with NO afterburners.
- Nothing in the mid slots AT ALL.
8 Miner 2's will use a thumping 560 cpu. With Electronics at 5, you'll have a mere 562.5 cpu. Just enough to drive your 8 miner 2's, and nothing else.
Now, 8 expanders will bring your speed down to a painful crawl, and you'll have no afterburners to speed yourself up, nor any shield hardeners or boosters to protect yourself. Sounds pretty bad to me.
Myself, I use an Armageddon for mining:
7xCu Vapor (don't have miner 2's yet)
Either: 2xshield hardener, 1xmedium C5-L (low sec)
Or: civilian shield booster, medium shield booster, survey scanner (high sec)
4xcargo expanders of various types
1xoverdrive (pick the type that only takes off a little cargo)
3xnanofiber (pick pirate types that give speed bonuses as well as cargo).
With that, I have about 1500 cargo, with non-uber expanders, and my speed is still greater than the base speed of an Armageddon, and I get the maneuverability of a frigate. Not to mention my pick of medium slot equipment.
With Miner 2's, you could use a couple of coprocs in the low slots to counteract the huge CPU cost.
