Originally by: Genji Nagi ok ive searched around and found a decent notebook but i looked at the required specs for eve and it has ATI Radeon 7200 as the minimum, the video card im getting is 256MB ATI MOBILITYÖ RADEON« X1400 HyperMemory, there isnt a comparison at the ati website so hopefully someone here know if this card can handle eve?
Yes, it can. Don't double post--you didn't need to make a new thread about this also.

To the OP, I have a Acer 1.6Gz Centrino, 512Mb Tablet Laptop running a intel GFX card and I hvae had no problems running eve when I am away from home.
I've managed to get this thing to run RF-online as well!

You may wish to look into the Inspiron E-series. They're now being made with Intel Core Duo processors, and you can get decent graphics cards as well.
The XPS M170 is touted as one of the best gaming laptops, but I did not find it to be all that great. I ordered one a while back, and had to return it. If you like a huge 1900x1200 screen and care only about games, I'm sure it's a great machine. But with that resolution, text is tiny and nearly illegible. Also, the laptop itself was poorly designed, with a keyboard smaller than that of my old super-portable Latitude X200 (which was truly bizarre, as it had three or four inches clearance on either side). I found that I couldn't type on the blasted thing, and couldn't read what I did manage to type.
So now I'm looking at the Inspiron E-1505. It seems to be the same as the XPS M140, only with a real graphics card and a lower price.
Good luck!

You will find that most laptops will not run eve purely because laptops are not made for gaming. there are a few laptops out there that will run it. my laptop plays eve fantastic & probably runs it better than most peoples desktops on here! no joke! its a beast but it cost me 2500quid!!! its a fujitsu seimens:
pentium 4 2.0ghz 80GB SATA HDD 17inch widescreen monitor. 1GB of DDR II memory 256MB Gforce 6800 GO (the mobile version of the 6800 GT ultra)
it runs all the newest games including eve, need for speed most wanted. it plays eve in highest resoultion with all qaulity settings on high!
if you want to play eve on a laptop & be able to PVP etc then you will need a good one!
