When will PayPal be working again ?
I have one character that has expired on 06/03/06 and another due to expire next month now.
I dont want to have to get a credit card or use those game time cards (I'm uk based and dont want to have to go through other sites to do this).
CCP has made no official mention of the problems and PayPal obviously wont comment on this... So what the hell are we supposed to do ?

Yes I'll sign it, I also use paypal, I dont like 'credit' cards and have never used them and have no wish to, when you have a decent overdraught why would you?
I normally use PayPal via PayByCash, but since RMR the link is broken and you get the message 'Recipient cannot accept payment'.
Now CCP know this and have known about it for some time. Now, if your account has expired you cannot log into these forums, also http://support.eve-online.com is broken when you try to use it regarding account, the ingame 'Other' - 'billing and subscription' is broken too, so your just about shagged!
So I have a question, CCP, do you guys actually read these forums?
If the answer is yes then would you kindly top up my main account 'Woodsie' please until you get 'PayByCash' fixed and then I will glady pay you back the credit.

You would think / hope that they read these forums. I know for a fact that they read the forums about suggestions etc.
But NOT ONCE have I seen an official reply from anyone at CCP about this which quite frankly is shocking when they are quick enough to update the website about the latest figures on peak users etc.
At the moment CCP I have to say that you guys suck regarding this issue. Everything else you are ok with but you are letting me and many others down

CW, it is nothing to do with PayPal, it is CCP that cannot accept payment not PayPal that cannot pay it, PayPal is working fine, CCP/accounts isnt.

WHAT THE HELL CCP!!!!!
I was loving this game and your service but hell...cutting paypal payment system just lost you a customer and a fan. I have a financial situation where i can only hold cash accounts without debit or credit cards and paypal was the only way i could take money out of my account to pay for the game. Now unless by some miracle you now have a local highstreet retailer in UK selling game cards then i now have no way of paying.

Not using paypal, but unlike the not helpful poster above, some banks do offer very low credit balance credit cards. Some m8's kid who is a student has one, somewhere in the region of ú50 per month max. Speak to your bank staff, especially if a student as most banks want the student to continue banking with them....

I have a DEBIT card already (SWITCH), but its not accepted ! I would quite happily pay by SWITCH, but cause of CCP, they dont accept it.
My payment has been accepted by PayPal, but CCP has stated that on my acounts page, that I have asked that the account be cancelled which simply is not true. All that I am asking is that I am able to resume paying for this game, for both my main and Alt accounts. It's not much to ask is it ?
Now if you have nothing better to do other than get on people's nerves, go and troll other threads with useless and unwanted comments.

well, i've managed to get myself a timecard. Via the USA.
such a ridiculous hassle to go to. it's taken exactly a month since my account ran out. I've been fobbed off by both CCP and PayByCash. it doesnt need to be this hard. all the other online games i've played have been able to accept switch. i really can't fathom why ccp is unable to fix, or at least temporarily remedy this.

RIGHT, im fed up with being fobbed off with, your payment is in line, your payment is'nt in line, your payment has been cancelled. WTF is going on.
I've been strung along by ccp staff for over a week now, they're taken one of my accounts payments (my partners) but not mine, now the pay via paypal option is gone completely, come on you spinless morons give an official statement and stop ****ing people off. Sorry...but have all you guys looked into online GTC distributors? I for one found a site where I pay $5 less for my 3 month subscription...and they accept paypal. Of course this should be fixed by CCP as it is the only way that some people can pay for the game (myself included) but jeesh I guess searching the web is too difficult. And for those of you who are too afraid of GTC distributors...why dont you ask around and find the most trustworthy ones? It isnt all that difficult.

In the short term (until CCP gets this resolved), it's a relatively simple matter to walk into a bank, purchase a prepaid Visa gift card, and use it like you would any credit card. A hassle, for sure, but a workable temporary solution.
Paypal also offers a Mastercard debit card that draws from your paypal balance (also usable anywhere mastercard is accepted). Our online biz accepts Paypal payments, and I access the account using my Paypal mastercard everyday to pay for business expenses.

I heard CCP decided to not accept paypal as paypal is widely used on ebay as the online wallet of the china maco miners. Supposed to limit their access by forcing them to xfer the money out of paypal and use another more traceable method.

ok i've an emergency plan that includes using the "30day for isk - thing" but i don't like it, it sucks cause iskies i need for buying ingame stuff (infact that's what they are for) and i need a lot of them. And Sorry NO I HAVE NO CREDIT CARD (if someone starts again with giving the advice to get a credit card).. I'm a student in Germany and the last thing which a bank is giving them is a credit card :(

While I agree that it would be nice of CCP to accept Paypal payments, there are two ways around this folks. One is to buy an ETC from companies that sell them- very easy to do witha basic Paypal account. Secondly, you could upgrade your Paypal account to a busines or Premier account, and get a "credit card" issued to you, which CCP does accept.

i have a "VISA PLUS" card and that works like a charm, it basicly works like a "Debit" card but it has the famous VISA number so i can use it to pay for eve :)

This is silly. PayPal is now a major avenue of international non-govermental settlements. When it first started out it sucked, but it eventually smoothed out. I've done something like 2,000 transactions through PayPal. It works and its tie to a bank account eliminates the need to use a credit card if one can't or doesn't wish to use one.

IŠve heard horror stories about PayPal, but I never experienced anything dodgy. IŠve used german and english paypal for a couple of years now. IŠve gotten refunds without any problem when some company charged for something I hadenŠt ordered.
I just bought my first ETC (as it seems alot cheaper than the ordinary subscription?) over at www.shatteredcrystal.com. Got called up 10 min later to confirm my order and got the code the second I hung up. Good and polite service.

I actually have a visa debit card with my bank, sadly however it also has the dreaded word "electron" under it which it seems CCP will not accept. Im one of the lucky few who has a decent housemate that pays my bills for me using his card and I just give him the cash every month. If it werent for him I wouldnt be able to play EVE at all. Come on CCP, sort this damn PayPal problem out and show us that you actually give a damn about us as players and people and not just as cash cows.

For the time being I use www.Shatteredcrystal.com. They are brilliant. They call to confirm new customers to check their details. I got called 2 mins after the purchase, got the code when I sat back down to my computer, typed it in and volia! All using paypal and took about 5 mins. Absolutely brilliant, and it will be sent instantly after the first purchase. I suggest using them until CCP get the paypal option up.

Well, eventually I stumbled upon Shatteredcrystal.com, and now buy time cards from them. They have now setup a up Direct Debit function for me as well which makes it easier !
Try them out, they are very good and speedy too.

It is possible to buy game time cards from ebay using paypal (a seller gamegoody.com has provided me with two 90 day gametime cards in the past, both of which worked).
I would prefer to be able to buy direct from CCP though, using paypal, or using my debit card.

I don't use Paypal...But i can really understand the frustration for those using it and only get problems...So i am signing in hope that it will be fixed for those having probems with it ;)

I use a credit card to subscribe and while it may not make sense to a lot of people why CCP may not be taking action on a problem which would ultimately make them more money there are some downsides to a company accepting PayPal that may be encouraging them to drag their heels.
PayPal takes a pretty big comission, up to $1.50 for every $15 in some cases. So they'd be losing out on 10% of their subscription income in some cases, plus there's plenty of other expenses etc when using the system.
Plus it takes a signifigant amount of work to match payments made to what accounts. Or to write a scruipt of some sort that will do that. It's so much easier for a company to just take credit card payments.
So while I still think it's financially worthwhile for CCP to get off their ass and offer PayPal directly, I can see why they're trying to avoid it. Maybe in the mean time just spend a dollar on postage and send them cheques in advance, for now.

This is just getting silly now.
It's been absolutly forever since I could pay with Paypal. And now German players get the ability to pay with Debit cards, why can't we in the UK? For a majority, the entire reason we use PayPal, is because you do not support Debit cards in the UK, and I'm sure there are plenty other players from other countries in the same position.
Bring back PayPal.

paypal woud make life easier for some of us i would prefer (and it would feel safer) using paypal to buy time direct from CCP as opposed to using third party sites.
