Well being a greek I can surely **** on all the lagers that are consumed en mass here. I say Belgian beers al the way.. Vondel.. Grimgergen Optimo Bruno... but my fave one is Latrappe Quadrupel... and it's dutch.. =) (close to belgium though).

As for beerage... Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Good times.
Hmmm, I must try this concoction you speak of.

A thick, black craft beer or a heady red wine.
I'm from the US too but I can't stand that urine produced by Budweiser, Coors, and Miller.

Edited by: Khristopher on 01/04/2006 03:54:34 Ugh I agree for the most part on American Beers (and I'm a 100% american redneck). Sam Adams and Blue Moon ain't bad though considering it can be found in Walmart . I'd have to say my favorite is Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale (Pale Ale when I can't find it).
Oh yeah and I almost forgot Hoegaarden is pretty good too.

If we're talking Macrobrewery beer, then I'll only touch Alexander Keith's. FOr some reason I love the stuff on tap.
However for good microbrewery pub beer, I'd have to buy a laptop and play EVE in a bar somewhere.... Sadly I'm not ready for that commitment to EVE...
Beer yes, EVE not quite.

Beer is bad... I don't get along with beer.
But, Jagermeister, Vodka or Rum make fine friends! (Preference to the Jager though).
Oubviously when I consume I'm usually out. But I do play Counter-Strike in an intoxicated state (I swear I play better that way, I have witnesses!)
But I stay away from Eve when I consume. Drinking and flying don't mix ----------------------------------------------- Hard work MAY pay off later, but procrastination always pays off now! |

Bud, Miller, Coors etc are all crap and 90% of americans know it. They are just cheap which is why people still buy the crap. Anything from Sierra Nevada, Redhook, Firestone, Fat tire etc. is usually good in the U.S. Semi-micro to micro brewery selection. But i also enjoy Stella, Chimay, Newcastle, and especially Guinness from time to time. Not knockin the european beers at all there are some greats, just sayin don't discount the good american beers if you haven't tried them. The great thing about beer is trying somthing new... which is why i keep it global

Edited by: Draaken on 01/04/2006 11:44:01 The only way to drink JSgermeister is the Jaegerbomber mix:
6cl JSgermeister 1 Espresso (don't know how much in cl that is, but not a lot, maybe 4-6) as much sugar as you can fit into it
All served in a longdrink glass, downed in 3 gulps max.
Edit: Oh and regarding beer .. nothing better than Meistersud! Small German brand though, not very well known, I've only seen it in the bar I work(ed) at. ____________________ first!!1!! -Capsicum |

Budvar and Beck's have been known to cause desirable results..
Canadian, US and Belgian beer has not.

Greek Ouzo, obviously.
Lacking that, any Dutch beer will do, with Wieckse Witte being my personal favorite.

Rickard's seems to work good for me. Red, Honey Brown and Pale are all good when mission running.

Quantity of beer is equally important. 3-4 slight improvement. 5-6 optimal. 7-8 urgent toilet break required midaway through mission not good.

To the OP:
I have found the following to be of great help when mining or cruising through low sec. I am a Yank but I have a penchant for Brit beers. I went to school in Scotland briefly, and I haven't been the same since.
1. Boddington's Pub Ale (Big Bee Can w a Nitrogen Widget)
2. Newcastle Brown (Newky Brown)
3. Victoria Bitter (a half assed Aussie convict favorite)
Go for the Newcastle Brown, it's like syrup. It'll F-you up real quick. However, the Boddington's has a nice creamy texture and is great with a packet of crisps. (chips.)
Cheers
