This is getting so ******* annoying.
Always when I log in, I have to write my character name. Because I haven't logged in from this IP. Well my IP is CHANGING everytime I log into internet!

100 Mbps 4G connection here...far from awful. Actually better than my old 100 Mbps cable. Got antennas at roof, reception is pretty nice

Agreed. The idea is very nice but there really should be a middle ground. Let the feature be optional, and/or add something similar to what facebook uses. |

It... it... Oh, god. Like, it has nothing to do with LTE. It's the end application (the EVE forum) which uses IP based protection to confirm your identity. I mean, how can it be LTE's fault? If you want a static IP use VPN through LTE or ask your operator to enable a static IP address for your particular subscription through the PDN-Gateway.
Even better, these forums should allow you to disable that feature. |

Options as I see:
1. Deal with it, HTFU.
2. Make a character with a name you can remember, stop smoking J's before you log in.
3. Get a static IP, don't be a cheap ba$tard it's only $5-10 a month more.
4. Quit EVE becuase it's to difficult a login process, in which case, may I have your stuff? :)
5. Learn what a VPN is, route your LTE through your home and/or work so you have a more static IP.
Sorry, but I don't want my security Darwinized because it's too much of an inconvenience for you when logging in to take 5 whole extra seconds to answer a security question. |

I have 4G LTE as well, but I rarely have to log in like you are having to OP, only when I refresh my modem. Must be a difference in the way our providers route the traffic or something. |

Edit: Also... OP... if you are having difficulties typing in the character name, just make up another character on that account with a much simpler name to type. You get 3 slots, and they will all work for the security process.
You could make an easy name... like Jeff.
